Correct.
16x RAM = bigger and richer game worlds
The difference between Uncharted 2-3 (linear corridors) and Uncharted 4 (semi-open) is staggering.
There's nothing like that this time around. Even if the new consoles have 12-16GB of RAM, games will still be made with PS4/XB1 8GB pool in mind.
Yes perhaps, but code and settings can scale for the better hardware with more ram, better gpu and cpu.
In the case of ram, I can see ultra textures being used in more games, better loading times, better AF and AA, that goes a long way on top of the higher quality shadows and higher quality settings the NEO will carry in general.
As for another post I read, I think NEO should still target 1080p when going for 60fps titles, unless they have leg room to boost resolution to 2880 x 2160 and still maintain 60fps. So it really depends on how ambitious the title is on a graphical level. Take Gran Turismo Sport for e.g, it's already running 1080 60fps on the PS4, which means there's lots of room for a resolution boost on the NEO with some graphical upgrades or leaving the game at 1080P on NEO and give it a massive boost to the base visuals, textures, shadows, AO, effects ,AF, AA etc...which will naturally be coupled with a locked 60fps.
I think what devs decide to do will be very interesting, personally I prefer balance, so give me a rez that scales nicely and sharply to my 4k monitor, whilst maintaining 60fps with as many graphical enhancements that can be mustered over the PS4 version.
