I have a question about 4k since I'm picking one up very soon with the Ps4 Neo. Do 4k TVs need an external device for upscaling content or do they already have built in upscalers? I've always thought they did until I watched this video.

I was about to reply to the question then I watched that video and the brain death inflicted by it makes it impossible to do so.
Of course the TV can handle non-native content. Why wouldn't it.

Uncharted 4 SP DLC first. :)

Would make me so happy but more likely to be Uncharted 4 dlc.

Or he could just be there to talk about upgrades in the Neo version of Uncharted 4.
I know :( I just want TLOU 2 to be announced so I can live happy.

I'd pass on UC4 DLC unless it featured ***BIG ASS CRAZY SPOILERS SO DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SOILED(AUTO CORRECT FTW)***
Nates daughter or Sully.

Edit: It's Uncharted 4 DLC don't listen to my blatant lies above. I'd buy it even if it was £50.

Depends on the TV. But in my experience, 1080p is still very good. I only upgraded for the HDR, that's the real game changer in 4K TVs, IMHO.

The only reason, for not pushing the PlayStation Meeting in social media, that I can think of is that it won't be lots of new things shown. They probably don't want people to expect too much from this.

Nah, why even bother holding a press conference, not even the fact of a PlayStation Meeting, if there isn't new stuff to be announced, such as a new PlayStation, slim, and details about their strategy going forward.

They literally have to announce something in social media either tonight or tomorrow - it's getting too close.

Housemarque makes for great tech in games for Sony hardware

Do you think we will see Matterfall as one of the showcase for NEO? Or Project Jarvis?

Also i wonder if Deep Down will still be F2P or not i wouldn't mind either i just want it to exist and i want to play it for myself!

Agree it's too early for proper 4K gaming guys calm yourselves in a couple of years prices of these 4k sets will reduce dramatically including improving tech and maybe input lag too

Wait until PS5 for true 4k gaming and 4k TV's will be way more affordable.

I going to wait but 4K tvs are not at a bad price right now.
Plus you get UHD player .
Games being above 1080p upscale to 4K would still look better than normal 1080p .
So if you can get 4K tv at good price don't see why you should not buy it .

Couldn't watch too much of the first video before my head starting hurting, although looking at the second one it looks like the video creator has already been called out. I can give a pretty simple response, I have a PS4 plugged directly into a 2015 Samsung 4K TV. Looks and works great. When I hit a button on my TV it says 1080p instead of 2160p, but that's the only visible difference... other than the input lag being a hell of a lot lower vs going through an Xbox.

The slim will be there, Neo will be there. But I don't think they want people to expect too much. There's no hype like there was before the PlayStation Meeting in 2013. That was for a brand new generation, of course. But now, they haven't even teased the event for the masses.

Every single 4k tv have its own upscaler.

In theory, playing a game on xbone on a 4k tv, or xbone s on a 4k tv should look EXACTLY THE SAME.

In the first case, the tv upscale the content, in the second case, the xbone s upscale the content, the tv detect a 4k source and just do nothing.

What is better? Depend on TV upscaler quality versus the xbone S upscaler quality.
2015 samsung tv use a very good upscaler for example.

Ok so that guy didn't know what the hell he was talking about and was called out on the second video.

This can be said for every piece of technology.

Wait for PS5Neo and for 8KTVs to come down in price.

Not really. So many people jumped the gun with the PS3 and bought a 1080p TV, only for almost everygame to be 720p. And they payed a lot of money for these 1080p sets. If they waited for the PS4 to buy a 1080p set they would have saved many hundreds of dollars.

The bluray thing makes sense but purely for gaming? Don't bother tbh.

Didn't they say the uncharted 4 DLC is still a while off?

Yeah I thought that too. Didn't Troy Baker say that they hadn't even nailed down where they were going to go with the DLC yet in an interview post E3. Considering Left a behind came out in Feb 2014, I'm not expecting U4 DLC until at least then.

I think it's to early to show anything.

People trying to make the connection with any game cover featuring the colors of orange and silverish/blue. So we have narrowed it down to 5 million different games.

I hope they provide direct feed videos and whatnot with lots of comparisons because the worst thing to happen is them to showcase this and basically lots of people go "It looks the same to me..."

Even with PC games it sometimes hard to see the big differences until you see it in person.

Streaming bitrates completely ruin these comparisons, they need to release super high bit rate video files to really show differences.

UC4 DLC showing would be nice but I think we'll see that at Playstation Experience. Probably just showing off UC4 in Neo mode which is also great.
The fact he's specifically a programmer gets me excited. Really looking forward to hearing what the tech guys think of the hardware and to see what they can do with it.

I loved it when Kojima did that with MGSV: Ground Zeroes. It was the best way to see what the differences in each version were.

TWO MORE DAYS. I"M EXCITED GUYS.

I doubt that there will be any new announcements, probably just updates on games we know of.

BUT I'M STILL EXCITED!!!

Isn't it tomorrow, like in 25 hours from now (it's 7pm Monday here in the UK, this is meant to be taking place 8pm UK time on Tuesday)... Unless I've missed something somewhere.. BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER DAY! :p

Just got a mail from Square Enix about a live stream Final Fantasy XV concert from Abbey Road Studios. Will air for an hour, starting one hour before PlayStation Meeting.

I find it hard to believe that's coincidental.
