This isn't really true. MS has undercut Sony on price countless times over the past two years. Sometimes significantly.

I'm talking about original strategy... Do you not remember the impact when PS4 undercut the Xbox One on price?

Obviously I'm in Australia, so I don't know how the economy works in the US, but in Australia, $50 wouldn't be enough to get the next wave of gamers to buy the PS4.

Hope is allowed. Take it as it is (as a rumour that is) but that Drunk Cat seems to be well informed. He's talking about the RDR Remaster btw
I didn't know this. Thanks
Like Drunk cat said, they wanted to show the Remaster at E3 but something happened.

Do you know when he wrote these tweets?

For those of us just getting up, what have we missed?

Power of the cloud coming as well as the final form of microcoding which solves every issue there ever was. I am expecting the cloud access API is directly microcoded so that developers can use it in the most transparent way.

Yes, but we're not talking about the original strategy. We're talking about a refresh of a three year old device. A device that is essentially slaughtering the competition. If Sony goes below $299, I'll be pretty surprised.

I don't think 299 (price parity) is a bad position, but it needs to have a bundled game though.

This, however, would be pretty smart.

Dunno 5-10 secondsa at most (depending to how strong the gear they use each time and how many viewers in both services). I hope it doesn't hurt you as if you were watching a live football match at the moment a player scores a goal in a penalty when everyone in the other room cries with excitement while you still waiting for him to be ready to shoot. That is what happens if a big announcement is will occur.

I really doubt there will be loud enough cheers in my neighbourhood over some gaming announcements, so that a 5 second delay on Youtube would force me to choose the inferior Twitch stream.

Strategy at launch.

The market landscape for PS4 today implies a position where the product is popular enough that it can command a $50 premium over XB1 and still outsell them in the most competitive market.

I don't think 299 (price parity) is a bad position, but it needs to have a bundled game though.

What would be the point showing a Remaster on Neo reveal?.

"Look, the most powerful console with 546 TF, it runs 6 years old games so well"

And why do you think that going in at the exact same price as the Xbox One S which on the box has better features, would be a good move? This is considering that the PS4 Slim is clearly aimed at the casual gaming audience that doesn't know anything about raw power.

You need to remember that we're not the demographic for the PS4 Slim..

time has come. Well, I hope so.

And then a bunch of dogs come attacking and kills your horse.

Sales fell off a cliff?

The casual gaming audience also doesn't care all that much about 4k and HDR.

Ken Kutaragi is also doing a short talk about new technology called nanocoding. Its the successor to microcoding. It isnt ready yet but it will increase the Neo's performance tenfold when it's done.

The demographic for Slim is the budget conscious gamer who buys best value console once it's at a good price?

Purely as a games console, ignoring exclusives and features, PS4 is the better games hardware.

For those who wants broader feature set and don't mind weaker horsepower, sure. XB1S is better.

Price value wise, it's still down to:

Power vs. HDR & 4K

But the console that holds the former advantage has been kicking ass in terms of mindshare for about 3 years.

We know that the leaked slim boxes only contain the console, so going by that the price for those should be below $299, if the argument is that a bundle should be $299.

What would be the point showing a Remaster on Neo reveal?.

"Look, the most powerful console with 546 TF, it runs 6 years old games so well"

The sequel could be revealed at the same time.

Lol right!?
It doesn't make much sense to show off the Neo.
In any case I just can't see R* being at this event anyway, not their thing.

I think you're trapped a bit in US mindset.
This PS4 slim is a global product where it's vastly more popular than XB1 in numerous regions.

The key driver for Sony is making good profits on this SKU so combining that with general platform preference beyond US/UK (provided the mainstream bundurus created are good value like with COD: IW, FIFA etc) it's not crazy to see why this thing will sell great at $299 even though it doesn't do HDR like XB1 S.

Yea, value wise, a standalone Slim at $299 doesn't really hold much of a bigger value bargain over the OG PS4.

I mean, that thing comes at $349 with BO3, which is pretty insane.

I have been joking for the last few pages like everyone else but somehow I get everyone's attention by saying things are possible.

Sadly, your joke posts demonstrate the same level of understanding as some of your serious ones. Even if I did look through your posts I probably couldn't draw those lines.

You have a history of serious posts trying to say something is possible just because you know the definition of something and can list an example of it's use and continue to suggest throughout multiple posts that this is the case, when someone with practical experience implementing the thing you just barely know of is right in front of you saying you're wrong.

Read the patent.

No patent needed this is in fact already being used & TrueAudioNext has been microcoded into the new AMD GPUs.

Note: AMD delivers the CU Reservation feature to AMD approved partners via the driver. The TrueAudio Next library can be used with or without CU Reservation.]

I'm sure you're smart enough to understand this on your own but that mean that compute is being used as microcode programmed co-processors

This is also the case for re projection.

Are you referring to ICVA? Intrinsic Cellular Virtualized Adaptation.

If I understand it codes not only to the metal but to the actual cellular and atomic structure of the APU within the console.

It allows the console to increase its Genki by drawing energy from electrons in the atmosphere and nearby electronic devices.

ICVA (Intrinsic Cellular Virtualized Adaptation Genki Dama Processing; "Energy Increase") is a powerful programming technique in SIE, widely considered to be the strongest technique in the company, but depends on the number of electronics supporting its use.

Ultimately this will allow the console to use the new tapped energy to increase resolution and fps. I also heard a rumor about Getsuga Tenshō Blast Processing.

I mean, it's not just any game. It's a game that holds a special place in a lot peoples hearts. Critically acclaimed and could be easily put in the greatest games ever category.

And for all we know, it could be completely reworked to make it "show off" worthy.

But like I said previously, I'm not buying the rumor just yet.

If I'm wrong about something & you're so much smarter than me you should be able to shut it down in one post.

so here is your chance prove me to be wrong

Nah, that's patented by the enzo teletype corporation. They also do defrag jumbo telemetry.

You've been told that you're wrong so many times and completely ignored facts when they where pushed in your face that people have given up on you. I know that I have.

That could very well be the case! Must be hell of an engineering-feat if they get it working. We're talking about electronic switches on the Planck scale. I'm sure SIE will be the first to begin mass producing these next level consumer chips based on graphite. Ken has been MIA for years so there is no other way that this is happening.

People posting "rumours" on twitter instead of their gaf accounts...

lol. Why is that a problem? They're two different sites. I don't wanna say mind your business, but...well....

This thread's devolved into the same meme/trolling wankery these things usually do right before the reveal anyway.

If you was right we would have a new PS4 that could only play media at 4K

now prove me wrong you already have been proved wrong not me,

People forget that 1.8 TF vs 4.2/4.5 TF already is a lot of power. Sony has the studio's to make amazing looking games with this hardware.

Completely agree.
I don't expect a huge bump this late, but I think it will get a slight boost over their originally planned specs.

Neo won't be more expensive than PS4 at launch, would put money on it.

Yeah, I think that's the highest they go. I think they like that price point.
