Fox News reporter: Hillary Clinton left 9/11 ceremony with 'medical episode'

Ehh 2008 is a bit of a vague memory but Sarah Palin didn't surround herself with white supremacists groups that talk about racial purity or some such nonsense. I think I would probably take Sarah Palin over Donald Trump.

Yeah, you're right, but she is certainly a racist, and a religious zealot, and dumb as fuck, so I guess we could just call it a draw.

That's not really true. It's been on MSNBC, Fox, and CNN. NBC cut into their 9/11 coverage to do a special report. I think people are just waiting to see how Clinton sort of responds. Like does she go into hiding for two days?

Isn't she already back out there?

Nah, I actually think there is too much going on (fortunately) for this to pick up too much. 9/11 plus NFL means it largely gets deferred until tomorrow. By then Clinton will have been or and about for a whole and they'll have surrogates all over the place.

Nail on the Head, just wait till the pundits on the radio tomorrow go Ham on it.

It's the first sunday of week 1 in the NFL and of course 9/11 talk. Nobody really gives a shit about the news. By the afternoon and around 60 mins is when it will pick up full steam

Tommorow morning it will be talked about on every morning show station

I mean, didn't she come out of "hiding" after 2 hours.

Those are not good optics. Hopefully she's alright and there she's not going through any extended health issues.

Still excited to vote in November.

I don't really get how it's any different. Those pundits only appeal to people who already had their minds set. If this hadn't happened, they would've found something else to complain about.

they'll just hand wave this away as dehydration combined with weather circumstances, and by the time this starts circulating in any meaningful capacity she'll be able to answer on it herself I imagine

And that's why they'd attack McCain's health? I don't really follow the logic here.

Well, the concern there was because his VP choice was so outrageously unqualified that his health issues couldn't be totally dismissed.

I don't know if anyone has Sarah Palin-level concerns about Tim Kaine, though.

Hillary Clinton will be a zombie by November.

You heard it here first.

Since I posted it in the Spongebob thread today:

Mostly because Sarah Palin was the VP...

McCain's age was an issue before he picked VP as well. And regardless of Palin it was going to be an issue given his age and medical history.

Clinton had a concussion a couple years ago, didn't do many appearances for a month during this campaign, and just fainted. This is officially a major issue.

she needs to be very visible and possibly have an outdoor appearance later on. also let the press following her ask her questions so its played later on today. people need to see her up and about to take their minds off of the stumble. going into hiding would be the worst thing she can do.

She was literally fundraising the entire month.

She didn't go on vacation.

People are jumping the gun pretty fast. Sometimes you can just have your legs locked or get a shit sleep or skip breakfast and something like this hits you. It's hardly uncommon.

Nobody is jumping any gun.
It is perception, and no matter what happens it makes no difference.
What matters is that she knows that she is being attacked on a health front, and something like this on appearance alone is a huge hit.
I do not care what happens but you tough that shit out.
Nobody cares what really happened.
The headlines are there and you will not see a retraction or an explination that it was something minor on the front page, it will be buried eight pages deep in a small corner.

That's always been the big distinction for me; the narrative is never "If you vote for Hillary, we might have to deal with *gulp* President Kaine!" because a lot of people find Kaine appealing and there's no issues with respect to qualifications

C'mon son!

Anyway in the grand scheme this, like most of the noise this election cycle, will probably be a non-issue. This has been an incredibly divided election, and I doubt there are a lot of "fence sitters" at this point in the cycle who would be swayed by something like this. Trump is too toxic and divisive and it seems like most people have their minds made up and are firmly anti or pro Donald at this point. These kinds of "issues" are the kind that just speak to the echo chamber.

Agreed.

I would be pretty damned shocked if she wasn't out later in the day.

It does look like she was feeling better when she walked out and got in her van, yes it was a photo op but the difference is night and day.

My apologies then. lol

No, I'm saying there were questions about McCain's vitality given his age and medical history (e.g. cancer), but he made his medical history a much bigger deal by selecting a grossly unqualified VP.

The VP filling in for the President in the event of incapacitation is a safety mechanism and obviously not an ideal outcome. Hillary dying and Kaine becoming President is not, "Whoops! Oh well!" but McCain's choice of VP put his health into very serious focus.

I think it's harder to suggest that Kaine is as eminently unqualified or unacceptable as Palin was and that much of the late-election consternation over McCain's health was because of Palin.

McCain's age was an issue before he picked VP as well. And regardless of Palin it was going to be an issue given his age and medical history.

Clinton had a concussion four years ago, not two years ago, for which she recovered fully. Such recovery was confirmed by a medical professional. I agree she will need to get out in front of it but I reject modifying reality so things fit neatly into conspiracy theories. You of course know why she wasn't making public appearances (because she was making private ones, not because she was home sleeping).

It's just as ridiculous to jump to the conclusion that she's dying as it is to say that she's definitely fine. Some people in this thread seem to be acting like they are some omnipotent entity that can tell when someone is fine. Kind of silly if you ask me. And of course it's going to be picked up by media. If any presidential candidate faints, that's going to make the news. Why are people acting like it's some kind of crazy thing?

Do not quote me as if I said that Hillary is perfectly healthy. I didn't suggest that. I made the point that the media will revel in medical gossip of anyone who does not appear to be fine 24/7. Blips aren't allowed for public figures, apparently. It's perfectly valid to point out the ridiculousness of the media. Why shouldn't it be? I also never contended that this was not to be expected in media coverage.

Well said. If this becomes a constant thing, it could make a real difference, sure, but this episode alone isn't going to matter to anyone it didn't deathly matter to beforehand.

Talk about McCain, his age, and his health wasn't gonna a legit issue that could depress votes until Palin became his VP. He fucked up, big time. (not that Obama wasn't gonna hand him his ass anyways)

Hillary just shot herself in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about american politics (I'm an expert), but honesty and health are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in 1920s America where you can become president by having polio. If you fall over and faint in America, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the american public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to vote for Hillary Clinton, nor will they vote for Tim Kaine. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Hillary has alienated an entire country with this fall.

Hillary, publicly apologize and cancel your campaign and you can kiss your presidency goodbye.

FDR became president in 1933 </nofunallowed>
