New Danganronpa V3 launches on January 2017 (JP) - New Trailer

I didn't realize until the direct feed trailer but Monokuma's theme is slightly remixed. As much as I love the debate themes and other trial music, I think they should use entirely new tracks this time instead of reusing ones from the first two games.

Yeah I noticed that, too. It sounds dope. I want to hear completely new tracks especially during the trials.

C'mon Spike Chunsoft, don't make us wait a year for this. Trying to avoid spoilers that long will be the worst. With how much the series has grown and sold over here in the US they've gotta take a hint and try to speed up the localization.

I could see localization going much faster this time around.

Danganronpa is actually a thing in NA now. Funimation started dubbing DR3 almost instantly after its release in Japan.

Haha, remember when Kodaka basically brushed off the possibility of having a female protag?

Schreier: Would you ever make a Danganronpa game with a female main character?

Kazutaka: Honestly, I don't really think much of the gender of the character when I'm making the main characters.

Man what a wily, crafty guy. I bet he already had Kaede in mind by then but was messing with him.

Pretty cool overall. I hope Kaede's great.

Damn it just occured to me this is of course the JP release date.

The awful anime series is a stepping stone for the game, like Nagito is to hope! The cast looks in line with what I expect from a Danganronpa game. I'm guessing that the last character shown ahead of the protagonist is this game's equivalent of Kirigiri or Chiaki, but who knows. Nice tease nonetheless.

Awful Anime?

I know all of my friends will spoil this when it releases in Japan. So I unfollowed them all on Facebook - I hope NISA announce a localisation ASAP. I can't wait a year after the Japanese release for this.

Looks like Danganronpa alright. I'm stoked for the release whenever it comes out! The only game so far I've felt iffy about is Despair Girls and that's just how boring and monotonous the game play got. I know it was a spin-off, but it still provided some story and characters that were important to the overall story.

Excited about FeMC but am I the only one who thinks she looks reaaaally familiar? I see a lot of Chiaki from Danganronpa 2 in her.

That's just how the Danganronpa art style looks. A lot of people have the same eyes and face so they have outlandish physical features or outfits like Sakura, Ibuki and Gundham

Yeah, I guess that must be it. I still remember playing Danganronpa 2 and instantly thinking that Akane has to be the Aoi from the first game
especially since I thought she had probably tried to become more like Sakura after the events of original Danganronpa.

Also, since this is the newest Danganronpa thread, I might as well just ask this here. How are you supposed to watch the two new animes? Should you watch them alongside each other? Or are you supposed to watch one of them first?

Alternating.

Future 1 -> Despair 1 -> Future 2 -> Despair 2

Only Future Side

Despair side is great.

Im like, the opposite on that

So excited. Really hope it makes Fall 2017 in the west, or even earlier if that's at all possible. The wait is gonna be painful.

Future 1 first, then Despair 1, then Future 2, Despair 2, and so on.

Is this a complete reboot and not on the same timelime as that of the first 2 games? Or just a different story after the events of the first 2 games?

Sorry to anyone who likes the girl wearing the witch outfit, she's my favourite of the lot and the characters I like always die.

I love how there are always 2 or 3 characters that are dressed like they are cosplaying

Btw the only characters that I liked from the beginning that DID survive were Aoi and Chiaki... and what's with always having one dumbass character surviving?? Hagakure will be remembered as "the wasted spot"

Eh, for me it's more important that the protagonist has such a good design than the fact that she's female. I love it either way (and I would have no problems with the cyberdude being the protag either).

female protag is hardly anything new for danganronpa. we had two in AE.

I'm just dreading the next year. wont be able to look at anything danganronpa related online until the UK release. complete blackout. gonna be hard.

You should probably just go ahead and delete your YouTube, search, and internet history now unless you want every recommendation on the face of the planet to be death/execution videos titled like orenronen's from the original Something Awful LP.

I remember one of DR2's twists being ruined for me because of YouTube's recommendations. I need YouTube to forget I like Danganronpa.

It's a very different thing when we're talking about a main game. We've had female protagonists in Persona, but it would still be a huge deal if Persona 6 had a female protagonist, for example.
