Square-Enix TGS Livestreams, World of FF, NieR Automata & FFXIV showing now live.

Sound's dead but looks like Squall veteran reward is next.

Edit: Official dab pose now? lol

Doesn't look like the /pose one from the last event.

"U fokin' wot m8?"

Wow, that dueling music was something else. Makes me almost want to get back into FF14. Or maybe not dueling music, but whatever song that is, it's great.

Sophia seemed to be rehashing Leviathan gimmicks.

Dungeons look like they're heavily reusing models again (behemoth, garuda) which is no surprise after 3.3's lazy Hullbreaker HM.

Alexander might be fun for the first few hours it takes to clear it through duty finder on release day.

I dunno, maybe they'll surprise me with something, but currently not feeling the predictable tiny content drip.

They said they'd delve more deeply into NieR Automata's story/RPG elements at TGS, but we just got another arena combat segment :-\

No matter, game of the generation anyway.

Man... I haven't bought a physical game in almost 8 years, but if that Nier special edition were to release on PC, I would probably make an exception.

Well, given how showing off the action combat appears to get people excited, I'd say it's actually rather smart they're focusing on that. Anyone who's played Nier's likely gonna know what those RPG elements entail anyways.

I suppose, but I'm excited to see the open world environment/exploration.

That sells games more than exciting combat alone, which is why Dark Souls sells and Platinum (usually) doesn't. And given that this is going to be Platinum's first open world game (since Scalebound's MIA), I'm intrigued to see how they avail themselves,

Dark Souls was really lucky to get an extremely vocal cult fanbase off of demon's souls, that helped propel the series to popularity more then anything else. Demon's souls was hub based rather then open world based, but it's extremely positive word of mouth is what propelled the series to popularity. I don't think the open world made as much of a difference you think it did (and does)

Besides, open world or not, Nier's probably gonna sell like shit (sadly) anyways. Platinum and Yoko curse and all.

I think Dark Souls being designed the way it was made a big difference. It hit that open world + dark fantasy/dragons spot at the height of each trend's popularity. Demon's Souls had its rabid fans, but you don't go from that to million+ seller on good will alone.

You're right that NieR's probably going to sell like ass anyway, but we've pretty much seen the same listed cross-section of gameplay encounters since Paris Games Week last October. There's not much meat for a dispassionate observer to chew on.

Is there a list of what's in the CE? Mainly, does it contain a full OST and art book?

I don't like statues (plus that thing costs over half as much as a Pro lol) so I hope there's a paired back LE including these.

Also, I'm blind as shit, but just realized during the conveyor belt section where 2B got smashed by the machinery, there was an enemy hiding in the shadows, likely there to knock you back into the machinery if you get past it but fail to notice them.

So yeah, Yoko's shenanigans are alive and well.

I don't know if you saw it during the FFXV stream, but Tabata presented the wait mode with lines coming from your characters to the enemies they are targeting, like in FFXII and near the end a good chunk of the Aranea Highwind fight that we didn't got to see last time !

The journey to Galdin Quay is nice. The establishing shot to the resort, the sea, and the weird island is pretty cool.

I'm hoping with the car we get some great establishing shots as we approach different locations in the game.

Is there a video available for those who missed that? :(
