Wentz got inducted into the HoF in the 3rd quarter after they awarded him the next 3 Lombardi trophies.

Imagine what they'll do if the team finishes over .500! Maybe they'll elect him mayor.

You missed Cutler being Cutler before leaving the game with a hand injury. INT and a fumble

Ah, that's too bad. I would have gotten some chuckles out of it but I was busy cleaning out my GMail inbox. Created nearly 50 filters and just mass deleted the rest eventually. Fucking e-mail.

Wentz played well, but these reactions on ESPN are for a guy who threw for 350+ yards, not 190

Pepiope and YH are getting checks from ESPN now too?! Where do I sign up to shill for the Seahawks?

will gruden get a room with carson wentz already

"what's really flying under the radar here is this Philadelphia defense.." you ARE the radar dude, get carson's dick out of your mouth for a second and talk about the defense. i don't remember the last time i saw a player get slurped this hard. gruden wants to do that noodle drill again but with no clothes on this time, it's gross.

i watched carson all throughout his college career and have been rooting for him during his transition to the NFL, but i'm afraid that by the time this hypetrain slurpsplosion has ended i'll be beyond tired of hearing his name. this shit is over the top.

Except he is a rookie who until a week before the season opener was going to be #3, wasn't expected to play this season unless there were injuries, and was considered a project because of the division he played in.

Oh and the Eagles overall aren't loaded with talent, are projected by most to finish #4 in the division, and have a brand new coach/regime.

Yeah its pretty impressive. That 190 is deceiving as well since there were some big drops.

Could easily have been 250 yards with 3 TDs rather than 190 and 1 TD. Also zero turnovers.

When did dropped passes count?

They don't but I meant the offense isn't all short passes to the flat.

They took some shots deep and had guys wide open but didn't connect.

Wentz played well for a rookie coming out of a small school. The thing that would concern me is the hits he takes and the reckless way he runs the ball. That seems to be a hard habit to break guys out of.

The one long "dropped" pass I remember to Agholor was pretty badly underthrown, allowing the defender to make a play. I did miss some portions of the game though

I don't mind him standing in the pocket and taking a shot trying to complete a pass but yeah, he needs to just get down or out of bounds on those scrambles. He'll learn.

Carson Wentz is just the 5th rookie QB since the merger to start and win his 1st 2 games of the season.

He joins some elite company.

I dont know how to take this? Good or bad

Agreed. He reminds me of the way Cam was playing last year, but those hits are going to get to him eventually. Dude is a little too competitive for his own good, needs to realize he is the future and take care of himself.

Brand new coach sure, but the Eagles have the best defense in the division. Plus you've got the #2 overall pick at QB while we have a 4th rounder. I don't see why you would project the Cowboys over them after Romo went out.

I'm going to assume that ESPN graphic is some unusually dry humor and not an attempt to rewrite history portraying Ryan Leaf as anything better than a disaster.

The Los Angeles Times reported that 160 people were treated for heat-related problems and 14 people were taken to the hospital during Sunday’s Rams/Seahawks game at the Coliseum. There are more reviews echoing the same points and complaining about missing entire quarters just to wait in line to not get water.

A silver lining for the fans, however: The game was dogshit and nothing cool happened.

Vikes will have to play Houston and Carolina, probably the two best defenses they will face, without Peterson. Rough timing. Schedule eases up after the bye

So I am back from the bar and a little sobered up.

As Bronson will attest, what I wanted to see most from this game was Wentz basically not making mistakes. I didn't care if he got touchdowns or not. I was mostly concerned if he protected the ball well and make the right decisions. He did that and more, really. He had some really well placed long passes, including the one to Matthews before the half that should have been a touchdown, and the missed DPI call. He also had a ball thrown short to Agholor that was a mediocre throw but should've been caught, and the pass to Celek that was a fraction of a second too slow and got tipped away. He showed some promise in the long game, but mostly he dinked and dunked it to manage the game, which I thought was great, because I'd rather that than mistakes. The dude still takes way too many shots running the ball and needs to learn not to do that. The way he worked the huddle and changed assignments and plays at the line was really great to see, not just because it showed he had the smarts, but the veterans on the team also seemed to believe in him. I'm not saying he's a HoFer or anything yet, but so far I think he's earned his draft position which is all you can ask.

Jalen Mills got burned by that stutter step, but after that he looked ok. A little more work on his tackling and I think he's going to be a great CB. Generally speaking the defense looked great, but you could see a huge difference when Cox was in the game compared to when he wasn't. I'm really hoping Bennie Logan and Beau Allen can start to earn the double teams Cox gets to make things better for the edge rushers. Generally speaking the defense looked pretty damn solid, even if it's "just the Bears."

I think Doug Pederson really shined in this game. Very aggressive play calling and some very unique plays. I love how much faith he has in his team to come up with plays in must convert situations. I love his use of multi-TE sets, and his willingness to innovate by doing things like playing OTs as TEs, or as in last game play a DT as a FB. I think people have been sleeping on him a bit too much and he's had really sound game plans and good reactions to what teams have shown him even if it's "just the Browns and Bears."

Still don't know if the Eagles have a shot at the division, I still think it's the Giants division if they play up to their potential. I never expected the Eagles to win it though and I generally expected them to be 7-9 at best so it's really nice to seem them get ahead 2-0 in the early part of the season.

It was less than 2 games before he got injured but AP looks done.

Yeah, like you said 2 games, but he's looked awful. I don't think Minnesota is going to miss him too much

He was absolutely part of the problem. If the hole wasn't there he just danced around. At least McKinnon would take what he could get. But still, the idea was Bradford was going to have an easier time of it b/c he wasn't going to have to carry the offense. Lots of play action against stacked boxes.

But now it looks like he's going to be throwing it 30 times a game. I don't think he survives that. Minnesota's line is bad. If anyone is done it is Khalil. I thought he was supposed to be a decent LT but he seems to get pushed around

Hasn't Khalil been pretty bad for like 2-3 years now? I know he was decent to good for the first few years.

Yeah just reading around it seems his best year was his rookie year and then he's gotten worse. Strange. Line is supposed to be built for run blocking, but you wouldn't know it from last night. I guess less runs would take away the wasted plays

Minnesota has never had much of a run blocking o-line. Thing is they had AP, who was previously a physical God. Minny's run game always went to shit whenever AP was injured.

I wonder how the people in this thread will feel when Trevor Siemian wins more games this year than Carson Wentz.

The Broncos defense carried the corpse of Peyton manning to a SB and made it look easy. Wentz has looked solid for two games but there are holes all over this roster. The only way that doesn't happen is if Siemian gets benched for lynch

Trevor got an all pro defense that carried the greatest regular season QB to a SB, at the end of the season i will say DAMN that defense is great, Siemian will be an after thought, i be more concern about Wentz vs Giants, twice a year, for the next 15 years..
