Forza Horizon 3: Review Thread

buy in the us store or in singapore. should be at least save you more than 10€.
all you need is a vpn and a credit card valid abroad.
as i for myself been all digital since the start of this gen i never bought games in my home store. on some games i saved €30 with deluxe editions.

Wow, did not know this, thank you! In Singapure it's 45€ at the moment for the Standard Edition. Will look into this.

2/5 from our reviewer, says it feels like Playground Games is getting bored of making racing games

"Massive, full and with a list of things to do which borders upon incessant, Forza Horizon 3 is a driving game both without direction and made by a studio seemingly – understandably – bored with cars. It isn't wholly different or worse than its predecessors, but after four years of these games, and with titles like DiRT Rally rediscovering the fundamental, basic thrills of racing simulations, Horizon 3 feels tired."

GG boiz. Pre-order = CANCELED.

I didn't play FM6. Is there some sort of Favorite Cars sorting option in the car selection screen in FH3? After getting a lot of cars in FH2, I slowly lost track of my favorite cars. This was a big problem in the online races with a time limit for selecting your car.

I don't even like car games that much and I am still a scratching my head about how it could score a 2 out of 5. That score scale should be saved for the truly broken games .

comparing ultra surreal simulation vs arcade... makes sense

if you buy in singapore there is a second added value, you can play some hours early to the cet timezone :)
p.s. to make it work in singapore you first have to buy gift cards on the singapore ms store, then use those gift cards on xbox live and then buy the game from your account (all using a vpn service like Zenmate for example)

This might be my first Forza Horizon game. Hope it's good. I tend to fall off racing games pretty fast. Last one I adored was Most Wanted.

Horizon w/ DiRT Rally's satisfying physics is pretty much my dream game.

You should try the demo , horizon games are the only Forza ones I enjoy as I like the openworld / handling / festival vibe more .

A gargantuan achievement, as expected from Turn 10 and Playground. Forza has not only become Microsoft´s flawless crown jewel (both Halo and Gears have divisive installments), but it is also one of the most respected series in gaming.

Even having 240 hours played in Forza Horizon 2 and several hundreds in the Motorsport titles, just the FH3 demo blew my mind. And with Scorpio relatively near, I believe that this will represent the apogee of the (original) Xbox One -perhaps alongside Gears of War 4, for a much needed one-two combo?-.

OP, We Got This Covered gave it 3.5/5, not 3/5. Just a heads-up.

I'm expecting to think it's a 9/10 or 10/10. Glad most of the reviews are very positive. What I played demowise was great.

I tend to fall off them quickly too. The two exceptions in recent memory: Burnout Paradise (because of the joyous co-op) and Forza Horizon 2 because...well, because every race was so goddamn fun. Cockpit view was just such a rush.

I honestly feel like this could be the best racing game I have ever played. It's completely and utterly amazing.

I was a fan of Burnout Paradise, Forza 6, and various other titles. But honestly the more I played this the more I felt the same way.

Wow 90 on Metacritic right now!

I knew this game would be brilliant. The Horizon series is fantastic and this is sounding like the best one

I've been itching for more Forza. Before the demo came out, I jumped back into Forza 6. Had some moderate fun. But when Forza Horizon 3's demo came out, it was edge of the couch joy the whole way through. Made me instantly remember just how much fun videogames can be. Can. Not. Wait.

I always find breakdowns like this entertaining. I'm ok with an odd man out, especially if they're representing a useful outlook (meaning one that may be unpopular, but is still relatable). I can't say that's the case here, but I'll know better when I've played it.

Disappointing not to have been able to get a review copy of this in line with other publications, but hopefully some content later and a delayed review.

I discuss it in my review but basically your talking about a game that nails wind in the hair and almost out of control racing. its insane.

there just arent any actual criticisms, or at least not well communicated ones.

reviews to me are a discussion of the flaws and great parts considered together as a whole product. he doesnt actually list anything good or bad. just "dirt rally was fun this isnt dirt rally so its not fun"

they arent even remotely similar games.

9.6/10

With so many positive things to say about Forza Horizon 3, there’s at least one problem that annoyed me throughout most of my experience. As I mentioned in this review earlier, there are a ton of things to do in Australia and you’ll sometimes find different objectives and areas of interest within the same vicinity of each other. This usually leads to ANNA asking you if you want to do another objective that often times distracts you from completing the goal you already was focused on taking care of. This isn’t necessarily a major issue though as you can easily ignore the question and stay committed to your original plans. Obviously, some may or may not be annoyed by something like this and I wanted to address it briefly in case some of you encounter these scenarios during your playthroughs.

Minor gripe aside, Forza Horizon 3 is a fantastic racing title that’s certainly worthy of both your time and money. If you’re a racing game fan and you own an Xbox One or Windows 10 PC, do yourself a favor and pick this game up right now. Playground Games really knocked it out of the park with this sequel and I look forward to seeing what they can and will achieve on Microsoft’s next console.

I tend to agree with this sentiment. Both games seem to be turning out fantastic, and will probably be remembered as the true highlights of the OG Xbox One era (shame about that Halo 5 narrative).

I'm going to enjoy sunsetting the OG Xbox One with these two games over the next couple of months. On to Scorpio.

You just need to wear a backwards baseball cap, have a dubstep intro and say "Yo" and you'd have as much access as the other Forza youtubers.

the halo 5 narrative is one thing, but the multiplayer has grabbed me in that game more than 1-4. i never, ever thought id say that.
