Forza Horizon 3: Review Thread

Played a little bit of the first one through BC the other week, I'll try out more to see if I can get addicted to it. Agreed, however there's absolutely nothing wrong with mentioning GFWL.

It cost waayy too much money in my country and I dont know if I can safely buy the key from the Amazon US store and put in into the Windows Store changing the region to US.

Origin originally had the same prices for US and South America iirc, now its even cheaper for those of us in South america.

WS is the opposite of that.

As someone who's played both the games, the comparison feels totally vapid. The gap between the game styles is just plain stark. That's a poor defense of the review, having read it and given it a fair shake.
 
The Metacritic has gone up again to 91 (from 84 to 90 to 91). That makes it equal to Forza 4, from 5 years ago. The next racing competition is 2009's Forza 3. As far as I can see it's the highest rated racing game on any platform in 7 years.

Zero problem doing that. Xbox game codes are region free. Also you can buy the game from Singapore or Hong Kong Store, even cheaper than US.

And reviews in general have been much tougher this gen than last. For a racing game to be at 91 Meta now days is extremely impressive.
 
Urgh, on the topic of Windows Store being shit, it is shit! Wanted to reinstall Apex but first it prevents me from installing because it uses my iGPU as main GPU, now it won't let me download the game to my new SSD (but to all other drives). Giving me error messages telling me nothing.

GoW and KI work fine. QB, on the other hand, is a disaster.

But Forza Apex and Halo Forge weren't just fine. They are amazing ports.

Man Playground Games must be having an incredible time. Well deserved truly!!! CANNOT wait to get this.

Didn't get a review copy though :(

You can get the Digital Deluxe Edition for about 60 € in the Singapore MS Store.

It is a Play Anywhere title, so you get both versions anyway. Thats one game license for free just to remind you about value.

You also my interested to read what PC Gamer wrote about Gears 4. So all issues you mentioned seems to be addressed at least for Gears 4. Don't you think its the same with Forza Horizon 3? Link
 
You can't blame MS for wanting to build their Windows Store ecosystem on Windows 10. It's the right move and it's an easy decision to make when Valve wants to take a 30% cut for every game sold on Steam. It's the reason we have Ubisoft and EA doing their own thing as well. I love Steam and think its the best service, but that won't stop me from getting another game on a different service as long as it's plays respectably.

Last thing for me is to get PC-review articles to confirm it plays well and I'll pick this up. Anyone know if it supports any split-screen modes?
 
Even with that one review dragging it down, it actually went up to 91%? I am hyped for a racing game. I don't get hyped for racing games. 0.o

What happened with KI? Have you played it on PC? It actually runs very well. GoW/QB more likely were due to poor optimizations than the store itself or the platform it was built on.

How many win32 games have came out and turned out to bad because of poor optimizations on PC? Countless.

I'm not coming down on you, but there have been games from other distributions that have been handled poorly and there will be plenty more to come. So I find it hard to believe this as the justification people like to point out.

Well at least I get a free t-shirt with the game that's too small for me.

Eh I just pop a photo every time a race starts, the count ramps up very quickly, even faster if you switch vehicles often. Of course the final cars are always a bitch to find...
 
Well dammit I just ordered the deluxe edition from the Singapore site...

Ok thx for the info but just to be sure, i just have to changed the region for the window store ? Because i read that on the microsoft page :
"If you move to a different country or region, change your region setting to keep shopping at Store. Note: Most products purchased from Windows Store in one region will not work in another. This includes Xbox Live Gold and Groove Music Pass, apps, games, music, movies, and TV shows."
