It's late here on the east coast, but I'd like to pose a question to you all.

What are some legitimately good songs that have gotten popular on the radio in the past 10 years? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Uptown Funk but there are obviously dozens more.

Also holy shit saying "in the past 10 years" only means since 2006 now, I still think of it a meaning "since 2000".

"Legitimately good songs" is an opinion. Personally, I don't care for uptown funk.

"Worry" by Jack Garrett is a good song that has made radio waves.

This is a good song, though I'm sure a lot of people got sick of it back when it was new because it was played so frequently.

I guess that happens to a lot of popular songs on the radio.

Rihanna please don't stop the music. Was an incredible dance song and probably the song in Europe that made her a star. Went inter-railing when I was 18 and that song was essentially the soundtrack to the trip as we heard everywhere we went

Unfortunately yes, this kind of thread will invariably filled with faux horror by a vocal few who twinge when a song is mentioned that doesn't fit their idea of 'legitimate' music - which is in itself an idea the music industry perpetuates to certain degrees to sell to the alt crowd.

I think Shake It Off by Swift is a legitimately 'good' song but I can separate the song from the image and concept of Swift which I'm not so hot on.

Agreed on Somebody you use to know, Crazy, Feel Good Inc being over played on radio but modern classics. They are all great tracks production wise.
