Doug tweeting that if the limited edition sells well, it may lead to a PS4 port.

No word on what we have to do to get a Vita port :(

I saw cj_iwakura post a quote from a recent interview with Suda. I think Doug may be referring to what Suda said in that interview.

Question 7 – How good do sales of The Silver Case need to be in order to lead to console sales?
Suda – *laughs* If possible, 100,000 sales.

You heard the man.

Retroactively have the PSX version become a blockbuster system seller that spawns various successful ports throughout the years and eventually land one for Vita.

I don't think so. Consoles is just what the interviewer asked about. Nothing's being set in stone here. All that's being said is that it needs to sell well before they can justify porting it to other platforms.

I guess, but something caused Doug to interpret it as PS4, and I'd guess he knows something about it since they've worked out a contract with Suda!

There is no "limited to x thousand copies worldwide" for this. Are they doing a print run of however many are ordered until October 20th?

Id rather just pay LRG a donation of 50$ to support them then do this "buy one platform and maybe we will port to another" nonsense that publishers usually pull. "gauging interest" lmao.

Exactly. Unless you mention there's a possibility of porting the game to the Vita, then I'll get a PC copy.

I think people took that interview quote a bit too seriously. All they're saying is that if it does really well there might be an opportunity to release it on more platforms. Which is basically the case for most games that dont have exclusivity contracts.

The *laughs* makes it pretty clear that it's not 100% serious.

Don't think it's a good idea for LRG to run with that as marketing. It will only lead to disappointment and seems a bit dishonest

Yeah, I don't think there's any serious traction about putting Silver Case onto consoles.
Suda51's answer of 100,000 sold needed was clearly said in jest.

The game isn't just niche. It's super duper niche.

Do you know what else is super duper niche?
The Vita.

Couldn't they theoretically insert the TL into the PsX version and release that? Boom, 2 consoles. And maybe PS4 in the future if Sony gets their ass in gear

In the very first article about the games announcement (think it was Famitsu online), one of the people working on the game mentioned they specifically picked Unity as the engine for the Remaster so they could port it to other platforms than PC.

I think a console version is very much part of the plan with TSC Remaster and will happen as long as it doesn't flop on PC. They must know that most Suda fans are on consoles and that Japanese TSC fans associate it with Playstation.

Hmm, I believe I remember that as well.
You may be right.

Order's in. Kill The Past returns in two days, cannot wait (been waiting since I bought Flower, Sun & Rain at release date in EU region several years ago).

Could be referring to mobile devices as well though right?

A few tweets from LRG. They said that Volume is releasing the same day as Shantae, it is #28 due to production delays on 26-27.

So it's just one Vita title for October? I don't have any reason not to trust Doug and Josh, but the manufacturing delays sure come in handy to let these releases get a breather from so many past releases in a row.

That's a nice LE for Silver Case, but I'm gonna have to pass on it. Will save my money for Shantae and Volume.

Looks like just Silver Case is up now and both Shantaes and Volume will be the 28th and nothing else in October due to manufacturing

Nice. Will be able to save on shipping by grouping them all together.

Pirates Curse is $5 more than usual. Hmm.

This is interesting too. I didn't realize the variant covers were like this.

Features reversible cover art. Which cover is facing outward under the seal will be chosen at random.

Gah, they're killing my wallet releasing games so close together... I really want the Shantae games. Was kinda hoping to get them on Vita, but, I'll take them on PS4. I'll have one come next month, once the PS4 Pro comes out.

Will be something nice to play while I'm waiting. Only question I have is, do I need to play the first Shantae game on gameboy to know whats going on in these?

I had the feeling that I was supposed to know some characters already when playing Risky's Revenge, but it's not like you'll be completely lost. It's not exactly story-heavy

Does that mean one has to be sacrificed to fit?
That makes sense for Vita maybe.
Or more likely, additional licensing costs.

I'd buy it regardless.

from my understanding, they'd have to license the voices. It was the reason why they're not offered as DLC or a patch yet since they already exist on the japanese versions.

Why bother even doing that poll I wonder.
A limited release would still sell out, no need to make people hope for JPN voices or to see the eventual negative opinions.

I'd love to see Slain get a PS4/Vita physical release. I've been quite addicted to it since it was released digitally, and I'd love to have a physical version to stand on my shelf.

Welp, looks like this is happening. Not from LRG though, and no Vita.
