Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

Well, you take into account that everyone has their own opinions. You won't find a post of mine hailing a company for not setting release dates, but you'll probably find a few complaining when release dates are pushed back or when publishers set unrealistic release dates.

Gaijinworks has literally four staff members. I'm inclined to be patient.

What other times did Gaijinworks lie to us? The only time I can think of is being misleading with PSN release of Tomba 2.
They said Summon Night 5 would be exclusively sold from their website, only to offer it on VGP later, which would have been a much better solution for everyone in Europe. And of course you can't cancel after you placed an order.

Oh and any PSN release in Europe would be great. I'm sure they're still working hard on it. For the last 3 years

I think it's safe to say that VGP will be selling all Gaijinworks releases going forward, even "exclusive" ones.

Summon Night 6 is supposed to launch early next year isn't it? Unless they want to launch 5 after 6, I doubt it's happening.

Same is true for CoH, although to a lesser extent.

VGP did PSP reprints earlier this year, supposedly before the UMD factory shut its production. Retro City Rampage couldn't get a retail print since it has since shut down. Unless Class of Heroes 3 is being printed in Japan/Asia, which would likely mean a premium price for the release, I don't think that's happening anymore. A far more likely scenario is that all work has shifted to the PS3 version and will probably get a release set after Summon Night 6 is out.

That said, I think that's enough non-LRG talk in the LRG thread (which is not unusual these days).

So, people are upset now because GaijinWorks let VGP sell a couple of hundred (just an estimate) copies of their games at affordable prices to break even, but it's ok if LRG relies quite a bit on scalpers to make ends meet?

Also, the copies VGP sells are never the exact same proposition as what you get through the GaijinWorks website. They only get the most common variant and no low serial numbers, so from a collector's perspective GaijinWorks will always land you the better deal. And in the end it's really only collectors that bother with those physical releases anyway.

I get that for international customers, VGP is more interesting price wise. But international customers are just a small segment of their customer base afaik. (I'm an international customer myself.) Also, by now LRG has done more (physical) releases in one year than GaijinWorks ever since they were founded. They for the most part got their stuff together now for international shipments, But if you look back at their previous releases, there have been quite a bit of issues, especially for international customers (e.g. remember the French customs thing).

I feel like a lot of this boils down to Victor not being as communicative as the LRG guys.

Well it's been a while since a game has been revealed. Preorders are still going for Silver Case (I wonder if the number of orders is satisfying for LRG?).

Other than that it's pretty quiet these days.
I wouldn't refrain talking about something else in the meantime ^^

They tweeted that we should keep an eye on PSX for some special news.

I'm so sad that they moved it down to SoCal this year :( Didn't work out to go, this time. At least I had the chance to go in SF last year. Too bad though, would've stopped by and said hi!

Sorry if things have seemed quiet. We've got games slated for basically the entirety of 2017 so plenty is in store. I expect announcements to roll in pretty quickly soon.

I hate you and your fucking amazing Vita collection. That Twitter picture was the death of me. I want more.

There's a few other collectors who went way into the 200's already and have tons of LE's, demo carts, all the full English covers and what not. Bastards.

I've slacked a lot with pick ups this year, but when I sat down to reorganize it the other day, it felt kinda good again. No regrets. I just need a better shelf and camera, so it looks nicer and the spines are more readable.

Dragon Quest Builders needs to hurry up and get here too.

Just managed to break through the 100 mark, but I pretty much only buy games that I'm somehow interested in playing, too. Picked up nearly 40 of them this year alone though.

I must have broken the 270 physical game mark now (well, last time I counted I had 250 and I have 20 more waiting to be organised on my shelving, I probably have closer to 280 now). I don't tend to go after CE's though, not enough room and I don't think they really offer value for money (I only have a small number of them, like the cool Lego mini fig editions or stuff where its the only option to get a physical release of a game).

My focus on my collection is just getting games that interest me - and that's a very wide variety of games and genres! I have a nice mix of Euro, USA, English Asian and Japanese import games. My eventual goal is to play through every last game, which will take a while since I also get quite a few digital titles and I like to go after as many trophies as I can in each game (for example, just this week I managed to 100% both Mutant Mudds Super Challenge and Axiom Verge).

Same here, I actually prefer regular editions because they look more organized in the shelf. I picked up the Psycho Pass CE last week because the shop I usually buy games from didn't have the standard edition in stock and the price wasn't that much higher. Ended up being really disappointed once I saw the size of that beast. Been thinking about throwing away the CE box, which is actually crazy but it takes away so much space. :-/

+1
You should sell/trade it though, instead of throwing it.

I have several Wii U CE, but these big boxes are just annoying now that I've opened the Amiibos inside :x

I have a big drawer full of CE boxes that I've taken the game out and have no desire for the artbook/soundtrack/box.
I used to love it but now I love how uniform everything looks. I also like the saved money and space.
Regular editions for life now. There's some games I'd honestly buy again just to not have a steel book

I prefer regular editions as well, I like having a consistent look and I never use the crap that comes with the CE anyway. I can't throw the stuff away though, since it's worth money. I just put it in a box and put it on the attic.

Heavy arm managed to get some extra copies of Soul Sacrifice Delta and I finally got to order one. Thanks a lot for the tip! :)

Does LRG hate Canadians? I see everyone with their orders, yet mine hasn't even been shipped yet? I ordered on Sep 30th :(

Needless to say I emailed them today for an update, but not a great first experience to be honest.

Haven't received it either (in Europe). Don't worry about it, it will arrive sooner or later.
They're sending 18 000 copies themselves, after all.

Great ! They sent you a message knowing they were going to restock ? Very nice of them :)
My games are in transit, I just hope I won't pay VAT at arrival ^^

Don't worry, they're taking care of shipping and handling themselves this time (after problems with the previous company who took care of everything) and the print size was much bigger. Just give them a little bit more time. I'm still waiting as well (AK).

They actually responded to my email very fast. I had no clue they were doing all the shipping in house.

Thanks for the replies guys. Must...be...patient! I get too damn excited about these things ya know?!

I just embrace that feeling everytime I see a collecion that huge. Those blue Vita cases never fail to turn me on.

I might have stopped physical Vita collecting, but I've always loved how adorable the cases are. They're weirdly cute compared to other consoles.

Well, I checked their twitter and saw that they had some in stock :). I'm a bit worried about the invoice details though:

"We are not responsible on Parcel(s) lost, stolen or delayed after your Parcel(s) sent out from Malaysia."

Will I not be able to get my money back in case the game is lost on its way to me? I asked them to mark down the value for me so I won't have to pay customs, which they agreed on thankfully.

Afaik all their mail is traceable, so I would hope that the chances of them getting lost is low.

I don't remember the last time a package didn't arrive, so there's probably no need to worry, I just didn't like the wording on that invoice. Do you remember if it was traceable all the way?

So what happened with the physical edition of Slain? Is it real?
If it is then are there more shops selling it apart from the one mentioned a few pages ago?

Really want a physical edition of this game :D

Where did you find that part about them not being responsible, btw? Because I can't seem to find that phrase in my previous correspondence with them.

I always got a tracking code for registered mail. Something like this: RRxxxxxxxxMY
With the R standing for "registered" and the MY for Malaysia.

Don't think you can track that type of mail in great detail, but you should be able to get a general idea of when it leaves the country of origin, and when it enters yours.

I always throw away all collectors boxes and keep the art book or steel case or music cd i bought the collectors for. I have bought and thrown away all Blizzard Boxes (think about the monetary loss there) LOL. I'm never selling, so who cares.

Wouldn't it make sense to just buy those off eBay, since many people just sell parts? Tossing them in the trash seems very wasteful, and something that people would still want to have (with or without the exchange of money).

So tempted to pick up those upcoming limited copies of the Shantae games. Such a great series and having them physical would be a joy

Yeah. I actually bought them both digitally when they were on sale a couple of weeks ago. But great opportunity to own them physically. Just really wish they were on Vita... :-D

I usually sell the stuff I don't want and make 10-20 bucks back here and there. But yeah the actual big box goes in the trash.

I know we always say things like this but success here could easily open the doors for more physical WayForward releases on PS4/Vita. If you're interested in picking up the Shantae games, we'd certainly appreciate it!

Maybe it appeared when it was time to pay ? I clearly remember reading it too :)

I took the decision to do this with my Wii U big boxes yesterday. I'll give them to save some space. Or maybe sell them 5€ a piece, but not more.
