Also to your question: Gen VII's designs collectively so far are my second favorite bunch in the series behind Gen V, so I'm really thrilled with them. Now just as long as there's plenty for me to discover on my own in Alola, consider Gen VII my new favorite.

Also I'll never understand Pokémon taste fights, much less over the starters. All three are great all the way through. But I gotta go with Robin Hoot. What a spectacular design.

But if Litten3 is Fighting then fuck that. It has every reason to be Dark (the sake of variety being a big one).

i like every single design so far. can't say for certain yet but this might be my favorite gen yet.

Sorry I'm not up to date, but what's the deal with the "1/5 2/5 3/5" etc square

It's just a color guide for how you'd rank a Pokémon, with 1/5 being the worst and 5/5 being the best.

Yeah, I feel like there was a lot of love put into her in the XY games due to all the fun stick twirling animations and whatnot and it seems they realised it in the animes and her inclusion in Pokken. No idea what they could do now except maybe have a regional Delphox that tries to fix it somewhere down the line :/

Here's hoping that Brionne's evolution works out better than Delphox. The 2D is making me hopeful

Different strokes, but I'd be much more thrilled with a Fire/Dark type because it fits the heel fighter motif and repeating starter type combos like 3+ times is lame.

Middle form is a little strange (they always are), but Popplio is cute and Popplio3 is amazing and gorgeous and Water/Fairy would be so good. I love love love the final evo.

Also I have literally no idea why the hate for Delphox. I think it's a really terrific design and it's a good natural progression of Braixen. The fact that it doesn't have its stick wand out at all times is a disappointment tho.

It's just based on a mahou shoujo in general, and braixen encompasses both sides of it, that of the Japanese idea of a magical girl and a traditional witch. It's pretty clever to combine them.
She's essentially Sailor Moon meets Sabrina the Teenage Witch, with a flaming fennec fox theme on top of that.

There's nothing perverted about it, but hey it's the internet and creeps are gonna creep

I could totally see Litten's evo being Fire/Dark, based on a heel wrestler. Heel wrestlers are villain wrestlers. The concept art for Litten's evo describe it using heel tactics like spitting embers in its opponent's face, breaking furniture on them, etc. And Tiger Mask, upon which the design is based, was a heel wrestler who turned good to be a positive role model for his fans at an orphanage. A Fire/Dark-type with a high Attack stat seems possible.

Alolan Pokemon have adjusted movesets, typings, base stats, behaviors and even aesthetics to a solid extent (such as differing animations). One could make a good argument why Megas don't count for the amount of pokemon in a typing, but Alolan Pokemon are completely redesigned for the most part. They definitely should count as pokemon under a specific type. They're new pokemon in almost everything but name.
