I can't wait!!!!
His jacket is also clearly meant to be Native American with all the little strips.
As a creator, this sort of post is just so disappointing. You have a bigger responsibility than just 'tell the story you want to'. That's not how it works.

But we simply shouldn't make those poor devs think about how their media affects people and simply talking about it is just TOO MUCH, IT'S TOO MUCH. Outrage culture! This comment is exactly why. It's the answer to your questions
You realize how naive that kind of thinking is, right? The "go do it yourself" dismissal absolutely ignores how influential the biggest in the medium can be. Do you think some diverse indie games by GAF members would have as much influence as a game by Naughty Dog or Rockstar or whatnot?
It also ignores the notion of being informed. Why do you think developers like Druckmann and others have stated how thinking about topics brought up by Anita influenced their game design and storytelling? It's about encouraging developers and creators to broaden their horizons and not stick to old cliches and stereotypes
Why do you think one of if not the biggest film company in the world decided to cast a black man and a woman as the leads of one of the most influential modern films of our time. Why do you think Mulan is getting a Chinese lead in the live action adaptation after tons of backlash in hollywood about whitewashed roles. Why do you think one of the biggest game franchises ever made had a woman as a playable main character, (AC:S), and is including female character options in a ton of their games, (For Honor, Ghost Recon, WD2), and that same company is making female guards a regular thing in their games. Media absolutely has an effect on people. If gaming started as diverse as it was today then there wouldn't be all these flimsy excuses to defend what may be yet another example of a big company reinforcing the status quo.Yes, that´s how it works
And just out of curiosity, what have you created?
Because this is NeoGaf and people love them some outrage.
I hope R* releases a remaster of Red Dead Revolver and Redemption, never got a chance to play either last gen.
Did GTA5 end up getting delayed? I don't think it did.
More or less no one on here is "opposed to diversity." Many are opposed to the idea that it must be mandated and enforced with censure. No one product can ever be perfectly diverse, nor should it be. Attempting to serve everyone at the same time may lead to you making a product that serves no one and lacks its own identity.Sad to see that some are really opposed to diversity. Not that it's surprising.
Will buy as soon as I beat the first one.
I'm totally not surprised what this thread turned into. Are we going to do this for every game announcement?

Different games tell different stories in different ways, and attempting to enforce quotas is the lead productive way to tackle this kind of conversation.
In any case, we don't yet have any real idea of what this game really is. I'm sure whatever conversation is being had will be completely different once the trailer launches and people get an idea what the game is really about.
Dat poll.I hate how there's probably gonna be Red Dead Online.
To the contrary, it actually made a pretty great argument for releasing it late.
5.6 million copies and that's not even counting the ones not on Steam, and the game hasn't exactly been on amazing bottom basement sales.
Why not get the double dips when the audience doesn't seem to care?

Rockstar also forwarded that they can do a better port when their core team moves over after the project is done.
I thought it was pretty much confirmed by "An epic tale of life in Americas unforgiving heartland, the game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."
Why no PC? Did gtav not justify it?

i wonder if this thread will be the spark of another Nadine Ross-type controversy.
Yes you have to have equality in how things are represented in a medium I agree. But if your making a game that depicts a period where white male were more prominent for outlaws and such It is there duty to tell that story as it was intended per the writing.
If they wrote it as all women in the game were from brothels or just homesteaders I guess yes it's extreme sexists and people should be outraged. But red dead redemptions story had many female lead characters who added to the world and john's story.
Should steven spielberg have had a female lead in saving private ryan? Or actually showed in general female soldiers in the storming of Normandy?
To go even further, I would have figured it was confirmed by GTAV making tons and tons of cash. No way they're not capitalizing on that in their future games.
But don't bother looking around for any help surmounting the incredible barriers to entry for anybody trying to create a AAA game.
What a crock of shit.
All-male cast with 6 out of 7 being white dudes :/
what the fuck Rockstar

I don't know what's more naive, the "go do it yourself" thinking or thinking that pushing a female protagonist in RDR2 would be a great influence in gender equality.
As was Bioware with Me3 and its ending. It's their game and their vision. I wasn't that big on RDR because once I got to Mexico, the game felt like such a slog. Still interested in this, though.
Yes, that´s how it works
Then you don't understand what "needs" means.
If the game needs a mkb, is it unplayable with a controller?
