I don't think the technology is there yet, but I think we might get something like this in the not-so-distant future. Input lag is going to be the main issue, I assume.The nx will be a console and you can use you're mobile phone to play the game on the go. The controller is a plastic thing that you can put your mobile in,and connect it with Bluetooth. It works like the vita/ps4 connection, but with good controls

True, but they figured it out design wise, (and honesty Nintendo hardware is always almost plastic fisher price stuff) so they can make something with good controls and not too bulky. Maybe 2 separate things that you put on you're phone (like the tablet thing something 3000 don't know the name of that thing)
But it will be exactly the same in any other thread. People will take it from where we left it here.
Mods figured that out already so this thread is still running despite reaching low, gamefaqs Standards like 20 pages ago, because one fact remains: at this point people need a place to vent out.
We can ban twitter en ER from neogaf but people will still need a thread to scream "Where the fuck is the NX?!!".
That being said I am not sure what we are gonna do if nintedo stays silent much longer.
This thread reached 5k in 4 days, people are desperate. By next week, this thread will reach its 20k Quota and get locked, I am wondering what will gaf do next.

That's one thing that always gets me about these supposed "leaks". They all have the same pattern. They always come up with details that make it seem like they have access to insider info, but they're always so vague or incomplete that it's obvious the person is just making it up. It's like they always purposefully omit the actual, real juicy details, but instead focus on pointless stuff... stuff like "The dev tools are amazing and easy to work with!" and such! It's like... who the fuck cares!? How do you have that info but not *actual* info that everyone wants to know about actual console features and whatnot. To me that's always the telltale sign of BS.

Well that's not necessarily true. You see, the wait for NX has made us gaffers experts at pattern recognition. And I have noticed that every time mods lock an NX thread, a new one appears with new info. Given that we are on the brink of a Nintendo direct, I assume that we will get it as soon as this thread locks up.
So it's up to you mods, do you want the Nintendo Direct or not. If yes, then you know what you have to do. Have faith everyone!

Eurogamer rumors cleared up my remaining confusion about the shared catalog and fears about it being not enough of a hook. Also made questions about the power range question more grounded. Perhaps the rumor is false, but it makes sense of so much that was being speculated upon before.
Twitter source wars are dumb. Trying to tell people that a hybrid is much much more than the Wii U Gamepad could dream of who are at the same time thinking Nintendo PS4 is revolutionary is not so much fun.

Honestly I would much prefer that the mods keep this thread open and all other threads locked at this point.
This is just absolutely ridiculous, but you can't whack a mole the NX threads away, so best to keep the crazies all in one place.
We now know that the controller part secret is really you're mobile phone that you can use to work as a display and connects through WiFi with the console. Just like ps4/vita connection. Other then that no new news.

Console to nintendo can mean a lot of things. They may consider the fact that you can dock it to play on tv means it's a 'console' to them. It may be a console in branding only, not in the stereotypical definition of console. Taking things at face value doesn't always pay off, as there can often be multiple interpretations of what they're saying.
I have a feeling a lot of people are going to wind up calling nintendo 'liars' by pointing to old quotes.
Until the thing is revealed and we know the facts, we don't really know what those quotes all truly meant.

This meltdowns here are silly, but I think there's some merit to the idea that it's ridiculous that we have to set aside an unknown amount of money for something that we don't know much about yet. It really makes planning hobby purchases harder than they should be, especially if you're strapped for cash I imagine. I don't know how those people who buy Smartphones day 1 do it.

Casuals, kids, women. Depending on price and features, they could be a complimentary device as opposed to a primary device. Complimentary to PS4/X1/PC for core gamers, complimentary to mobile for casuals.
Maybe they'll do us a favor and only have 1 game at launch, (Zelda) which you can buy for Wii U if you want to save even more money.

You're not getting the same kind of third party support that Sony and Microsoft get and you shouldn't expect it no matter whether you believe in reality or the AMD PS3.8 Pro Alex Jones console theory. You should know this based on the Wii U launch.

There are several possibilities.
A.) They're not strapped for cash.
B.) They have multiple credit lines, some of which offer no interest financing.
C.) All of the above.
There's also just the possibility that they're bad with money and don't mind acquiring debt they might not be able to repay.

I want to add that Nintendo of Europe's social media accounts deliberately called NX a "video game system", referring to it as "console" only in languages where the direct translation of "video game system" would result in a nonsense.
3DS is old, true, but it's also not badly in need of a replacement like WiiU is, so I say home console first.
3DS lives on through 2018 with Dragon Quest XI in the west (I hope).

I actually love this situation, speculation is fun and as a Nintendo fan, I will probably get the NX anyway regardless of if is the best new thing ever or something strange.
Most surprises these days are accurately leaked days or weeks before so having this cloud of rumours and 'semimaybe leaks' is refreshing in a 90s gaming scene kinda way.
That said, pls don't be disrespectful to people like Rogers, keep it lighthearted and fun.
And that said, I believe we will know what NX is before November starts.
