I haven't spoken with her today so I don't know the cause of this back-and-forth.

My current stance is to just see what happens this week. I dunno, I'm going on vacation.

I swear she's only doing this to see how long she can keep a Gaf thread going crazy. She's got a sweep going on with her friends.

If this falls through, nobody would pay attention to her ever again.

She's been hit and miss on stuff, but that last tweet was incredibly... stoic.

You remember those platformers from the 90's?

The ones where, if you get to the ledge, it seems like the character is going to fall off. They keep on teetering back and forth in the most exaggerating cycle ever. But they never really do.

Until that day when we finally fall into the abyss...

This is NeoGAF.

Pretty lengthy interview from a few days ago with an indie developer who seems to be pretty forthcoming with hints about what NX will be.

As always, might wanna pop a grain of salt before you click on the link.

I believe this is the same site with an interview with an "indie developer" a few weeks ago, that sounded, well, such a fake considering what was said in it and the expressions used.

I think part of the issue with her reporting is simply that she's not a real journalist and as such doesn't know how to properly vet or contextualize information.

But what about the "real" journalists? They are mistaken far more often.
I think some of her sources were not reliable, but some of them certainly speak reliable information.

In any case, she doesn't deserve such hatred.

Eh, that's some faulty logic. If everyone who doesn't trust Emily simply ignored her, then the threads would just be filled with posts by people that believe her. When that happens, now anyone who reads the thread will think that Emily is a completely reputable source.

If SonicGuy69 posts a shitty rumor on Twitter, it's pretty easy for us to ignore him, because barely anyone will believe what he says. But when Emily posts something, there are a lot of people who take her seriously or at least believe that she has a decent chance of being correct. It's silly to expect people to completely ignore her when her rumors are being discussed so much.

Micheal and Emily are adults, and if they want to make bold claims over social media, then their audience has the right to scrutinize them if they end up being wrong.

I think you either misunderstand my position, or I haven't articulated myself properly. My issue is not that you literally have to ignore them to the extent that you pretend that they don't exist. What I'm trying to say is that there comes a point where criticism stops being constructive and just becomes fuel for the fire. It becomes counterproductive. Instead of calmly explaining why they're not the most reliable pundits out there, it becomes almost vitriolic and just adds to their notoriety.

I can't speak for other people, but my reaction to an Emily Rogers rumor is to consider it plausible but certainly not consider it some confirmed fact. It might pan out. It might not. I don't get invested in it. If you're someone who thinks that she's wrong all the time, you can note that much and explain why, but I honestly don't think it helps the situation to get involved in this battle about the notorious figure that is Emily Rogers. It's silly to make the story about her and not what she's predicting. Giving her more attention just signals to other people that -- right or wrong -- she's a figure worth paying attention to. And if your endgame is "she's the mayor of Wrong Town and I wish she would go away" then this is not a good course of action.

At this point I'm just assuming that the big news this week is the reveal of a direct for next week. Anything else is a cherry on top.

Until then, cheers.

Whatever the outcome it might be, at least I would have enjoyed the ride, you don't get a new hardware reveal that much so I'll go all in!

That would be fine. It will put some suffering at ease.

btw I'm not sure they'll do this in a Direct. Just seems too big for that.
