Trump refuses to commit to accept the results of 2016 Presidential Election

A cis straight white male from a ludicrously wealthy family is yelling "rigged" when things don't go his way? Shocked.

So I know it's not legally required for a candidate to concede, but if he doesn't have any legitimate proof that the results are incorrect, can't this be considered a treasonous action and punishable?

I mean its one thing if somehow impossibly theres irrefutable proof that some problem occurred that called for investigation, but he doesn't have that because it doesnt exist.

I feel like this is a good thing. His refusal to concede will carry less weight in light of the fact that he never planned on conceding in the first place.

If a candidate in an election refuses to commit to accept the results of the election, the candidate should be disqualified from the ballot on the basis of failing to agree to the terms of the election process. Seems pretty clear cut to me. If you don't agree with the rules of the game, don't play it.

I suppose he can go fuck himself.

Is cloning technology in the US that advanced? Damn.

If he doesn't believe in the system and the result maybe he shouldn't have run in the first place.

He's going to cheat and cry "rigged!", isn't he?

He's treating the election like a reality show. WILL TRUMP ACCEPT THE RESULTS?

We'll have the answer right after these messages.

This is the headline tomorrow, no doubt.

And even if they go into best zingers, Hillary won that too with the Puppet comment.

When you are asked if you'd accept the results of the election before the election has even occurred, you always say yes. It's the obvious answer. It sucks up to the voters, especially the ones who aren't on your side. You say some shit about how you have confidence in the people and how you trust the process.

This is a fucking free gimmie, kiss-ass PR moment, and of course Trump has fucked it up twice in two debates. What a fucking moron.

This is typical media overreaction in the heat of the moment. Trump will be forgotten and go back to running his billion dollar empire after the election.

The crux of this is the effect of him sowing distrust on the election system, not just Trump himself.

Gloria Borger brought up that point. She said this is a disqualifying moment.

When you're referencing conspiracy theory Facebook fodder videos, you show who you really are.

The videos are literally of people saying they will do illegal shit for Hillary.

Two people have resigned so far. Must be a wild theory if people are resigning over it.

I know some people are saying this was Trump's best performance, but I feel like between this and the "nasty woman" comment, this debate will be the final nail in his coffin.

Not to mention that he really melted down for a long time, and then looked really petty after the debate when he stayed behind his podium and waiting until Clinton left the stage so he wouldn't have to shake her hand.

For some reason I feel the bag of yet to be seen Trump scandals is about to start being emptied, hard.

He may not even make it to election day, his pride might too shattered.

Maybe he'll land a tremendous court case that puts him behind bars for a decade or two.

Yeah, about that. His business has taken a huge hit since his run, people don't want to throw charity events on his resorts anymore and his hotels in blue state are down massively YOY in visitors. His Washington hotel is offering 4 star presidential pad accommodations for a fraction of what the other top hotels in Washington are offering due to his brand toxicity.

So, yeah. He'll go back to running something, alright.

I thought Trump was looking surprisingly well in this debate, not completely reckless and disorganized like the second one...

Thankfully, he removed any chance of positive coverage by essentially repudiating this democracy thing.

One thing holds true though.

I agree to concede to my bet if Hillary wins.
I won't be able to post about political stuff anywhere on the internet for a year.

Gloria Borger brought up that point. She said this is a disqualifying moment.

So how does that work in the event of a Bush/Gore situation in Florida?

Trump has been playing the angle of the Clinton family having their hands in everything - this is simply an extension of this angle (same thing he said with regards to fake protesters bought out by Hillary's campaign to instigate fights with Trump supporters at the Chicago rally).

The crux of this is the effect of him sowing distrust on the election system, not just Trump himself.

Fair point.

he's going to indirectly cause someone to be hurt or killed over this election, as a result of his statement tonight.

Trump incites violence to angry crowds at his rallies. Imagine what he is capable of when Hillary handily wins the election, when he has already egged on "second amendment people" to "do something about it."

His words are toxic and dangerous.

I can definitely see that.

I wanted mostly to understand the legal side of things. Can he delay anything else besides asking for a recount (or whatever he may come up with) and being immediately shot down by a state/the US supreme court? And can he do that multiple times just to stall?
Can he move forward to the courts with some crazy conspiracy theory as a means to further delay the process?

This is an actual threat to the peaceful transition of power. This is how unrest is festered and people get hurt. This isn't something a presidential candidate of a major party should do.
