I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
This is also really great for folks that are divorced/have divorced parents.
A kid can have one Switch but two docks - one at each house.
Or, even better, you can have a dock on multiple TVs in your house. If it's ~$100, I sure as heck would do that.

I usually carry this thing on my back called a "back-pack". Has room for all kinds of neat shit, and tends to carry, at a minimum, my work laptop, portable battery charger, a water bottle, and my mobile hotspot.
Man, people REALLY want to nitpick.
It has a vent on the top which might still mean active cooling (and a clock bump) in docked mode.So as I though, just a single Tegra with no additional rendering power given by the dock. Detachable mini controllers looks painful to use by themselves, but that grip is a nice idea.
This will be a nice 720p machine. Don't expect miracles with it.
But not Full HD.
And resolution in docked mode is likely going to vary game by game. It's most likely Pascal based which means GPU performance well above Wii U and that system had multiple 1080p titles. And 4k for video streaming is in the base Pascal spec. Also no ancient Jaguar to cripple framerates.

The more I look at it the more I don't think making it so you can use each side of the controller as it's own controller was worth it.
Look at how small that is and how close the buttons and stick have to be. We will see how that feature is utilized, but I think I would have preferred just having a solid dpad on the controller that comes with the system. The "pro" controller looks okay enough but wouldn't have even needed it.
That's how I felt before, and still feel that way. I mean, it's a neat gimmick, but I really don't think most people are going to even use it. I know I'm not going to.
I'm kinda expecting a lite version later on that drops detachable controllers.
When you consider that they HAD to use mobile hardware (otherwise the concept simply couldn't exist), it probably is. Of course it won't match mid/high end desktop class components, but it's probably top class mobile hardware.
You don't. Skyrim is a single player game, so there's no reason to ever play it with just one of those Joy-Cons. If you're at home, you'll use two with the grip, or you'll use the Pro controller. If you're on the road, you'll have both Joy-Cons attached to the sides. And if you use the kickstand to set it up as a display, you'll use both Joy-Cons like the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

This is actually better than I was expecting.
Not really feeling the colors, kinda too dark for a nintendo system but conceptual to actual implementation is pretty neat.

Portable Dark Souls, portable Skyrim, portable Zelda, portable EVERYTHING!
I just fear that the battery life will be horrible, they need a great battery or this social local multiplayer portable focus will fall flat on it's face.

I guess that's good for people that use them. Just seems like they could have made it closer to Vita size as a nice compromise, having to start carrying a bag around to tug your portable gaming device seems a bit inconvenient

I think as a portable device I'm pretty excited about it, 3DS is super dated. As a home device, meh, I don't see the appeal beyond the usual Mario/Zelda.

Shoulder buttons look like ass honestly. The L2/R2 buttons stick out, preventing the thing from laying flat, and the L1/R1 buttons look super thin and probably feel like pressing down on butter knives.

It must be the unlock button to remove the joy-con from the base.
The detachable controllers going to be pretty sweet especially when we start seeing developers makign their own to use with their own games. Sega can release a controller with six buttons for example to play various Sega games on the virtual console. And then there could be pieces with normal D-pads and whatnot on it.

Will buy day one. I'm a huge fan of the gamepad, and this is basically a portable gamepad.
I love the local multiplayer options. Local multiplayer was the best thing about the Wii U, and with the Switch Nintendo seems to continue to be the only good option for local multiplayer, which is very much neglected by the other two.
I just don't like the huge bezels. And what is that microscopic dpad on the right side?

Overall, the system looks pretty cool. Really hoping 3rd parties will show it the support it deserves.

It's just bluetooth connectivity. The Switch and Wii U Pro Controller have the same buttons however a different layout.
That was way better than I expected, but still some things I would have hoped weren't real.-
What I liked:
+ I was worried about size and ergonomics, and while not pocket sized that seemed comfortable to hold.
+ Great hardware looks
+ Really nice that a Pro Controller was one of the focus in the video, that half-fixes the split d-pad problem in the main unit, at least while at home.
+ Having a sort of portable monitor is really nice.
+ Having a decent app ecosystem could add some convenient extra value (Browser, Media player, Note apps, etc, etc...)
+ 3d Mario successor to M64/Galaxy? So, sooooo awesome!!! (but I reckon the video doesn't really clarify if it's that or 3D Land sequel)
+ Sweet cartridges!!
What I didn't like:
- Split d-pad, but here's hoping there will be custom "slide replacements", I'm quite sure that if Nintendo doesn't do them another company like Hori for example could fix this.
- I'm quite worried that 1080 Breath of the Wild won't be happening while docked, that was one of my NX hopes, hard to say but I'm doubtful at the moment.
- The name, not hating it, but neither loving it.
Overall looks like a great move for Nintendo, they just have to nail the price and I'm in for sure (ah and Battery Life!!).

I am intrigued, but I guess I might be the only person not overly impressed with the trailer. It looks a little on the big side on mobile mode so I don't see myself really taking it outside all that much, though moving around the crib would be fantastic.
The price will have to be right for me to pick it up, I will be down for the Nintendo exclusives if anything. On the fence with this, but leaning on the more positive side, gonna wanna see more.

Not 100% sold, but not 100% disappointed.
Half solving a very real annoyance (lack of console quality portable gaming with mandatory physical controller usage), but not crazy compelling enough for me to want to carry around a separate device from my phone/tablet outside of long car rides, flights, vacations, etc.
The car ride and plane flight in the commercial were like "no shit, I would TOTALLY play this in those cases". But the park, basketball court, etc... were essentially.. "umm.. no. even if I was totally bored and doing nothing for 30 minutes straight there."
so we'll see. Good on Nintendo though. Not as "knocked out of the park" as the Wii unveiling.. but nowhere near the disaster that was the Wii U presentation.

My only beef is those controllers look like something a shitty knock off company could make. The two tone, the bits of rubber in the pro, the buttons, the stick all look just awful. And playing with the right side controller half looks brutal due to the button location.
That said as long as the pro controller works every game I will never use that goofy plug together one.

I think the problem with Vita size is it wouldn't have been able to be sufficiently powerful to also act as a home console. We don't have specs yet, but the dock, venting port, and overall form factor leads me to believe this will be a pretty powerful system.
It's not unthinkable that they could release a smaller form factor version for added portability once the 3DS is fully phased out.
Or, you know, use one of the many other controller combinations they showed in the trailer.
