I keep seeing this joke. Can someone please explain this to me? Is it that ctrl+alt+delete comic?
Okay... that's kind of crazy then... I guess I'll play wireless but I like to connect my PC/XB1/PS4/and Wii U with wires.. oh well.
Yeah I'm sure, same case for the d-pad buttons probably. I'm not sure it was the smartest decision, though. I'm sure a lot of their first party games will take advantage of this feature, but the only other games I see taking advantage of this are indie titles. I'm already scratching my head on how they're going to fit the Mario Kart controls on the joycons in a comfortable layout. There's no way you can use the bumper and trigger in that orientation without it feeling completely awkward.I think they went with asymmetrical so when the JoyCons are separated into two discrete controllers their orientation can be the same by default (analog stick on left, buttons on right) with the same shape and everything
I'm kidding, it's mostly likely a fan vent.
Pardon my ignorance but what's the difference between the Wii U and this aside from the fact that you can slip the sides off of the screen? What's so innovative about this console? Even the scene where they are sharing the two sides of the controller to play a game, it looks too small to be played comfortably.
The use case they didn't show you:
Using it to play touch-only games.
Given the audience they're supposedly targeting, this is almost certainly going to be a thing.
Using the Joy-Cons separately without the grip, Wii Remote and Nunchuk style?

The Nintendo Zune.Brown Zelda skinned Switch
I only seen like 2% negativity on the NS. People on my facebook that mainly playing xbox, ps and pc even want one. 98% good impressions. Even on gaf most seem to like it.

Oh of course, people love the concept though firstly. They picked the right games to show off. They should definitely make a japanese tailored trailer as well.It all depends on the price. If this comes out at $399 it will be a different story.
$299 or even $249 is what Nintendo needs to hit for this thing to get wide acceptance.
They really should have just kept the NX name. Overall I'm still pretty hyped though. More so than I was when the Wii U was announced. Aesthetically the tablet looks 100X better than the bulky fisher price looking Wii U tablet. The joy controller though...

This was posted in one of the other threads, but that was the first thing that came to mind when I first saw it, lol.
surprise we are not hearing any games announcement so far. although we know who's on board
I can't get over how horrible the controller looks, aesthetically and for holding. It doesn't look comfortable in any of its three forms, not in one piece, not in two pieces, nor in just half a piece.
As someone who has a huge backlog on his PS4, Wii U, Vita and 3DS, and does not have a social circle in which a device like this would ever be used as shown in the video, I am prefectly content with not owning this.
I will consider it more next year when the library starts to flesh out. Assuming there is something I really want. But as of right now the only thing I won't be able to play is the new Mario game. I can wait.
Tbh, I would much rather have a PSVR to further expand the technology and ecosystem I already have.
The thread is pretty big... but has there been any talk about connecting to the internet if I want to use a cable to hardwire? Am I going to have to have an ethernet cable roll across the living room to connect?

I didn't buy a wiiu so now I can get one with improved mk/splatoon (fuck you motion folks), that is nice.
Such a cute puppy~Everyone else saw a good ol' pupper. If I get a dog I may name it Switch

I dare say this phenomenon goes back to the N64 unfortunatelyYou have to remember that Nintendo raised a generation of gamers who now have crippled hands thanks to Kid Icarus.
It would be quite rude to throw those people under the bus by making a default controller that you could actually hold. Those people suffered.
That said, it would be nice if Nintendo included one single photo of people using the d-pad in a contorted claw like grip. Just to be really inclusive.
I feel the same. The hype train on this thing seems to be glossing over ergonomics, potential battery life, the fact that half the games shown are on Wii U (or Skyrim). The hardware is interesting but it doesn't do anything truly revolutionary. The games shown seemed pretty bog-standard and as someone who felt let down by the Wii U and Wii I'm not all that excited.
The super cynic in me thinks it will still have a shitty Nintendo OS, shitty Nintendo ecosystem, shitty Nintendo internet functionality, over-priced and drip-fed VC games, an expensive library with meager discounts, lots of potential for broken or lost parts not easily replaced, etc.
Is anyone worried about the d-pad? They sacrificed their standard d-pad for something that can function as a controller independently with an analogue stick and 4 face buttons.
This thing doesn't look convenient at all. Maybe I am wrong but it looks worse than what Sony is doing with the Dualshock for example. Does anyone think that we will see another JoyCon L or however it's called with a proper d-pad for people who don't care about multiplayer gaming on the go?
