I respect your opinion but I couldn't disagree more. The UI is one reason I just sold my X1 it drove me nuts.
Ever since the last update, my PS4 main screen has only six tiles.

It's minimal, it's clean and it's fast. The folders really do wonders if you set them up right.
- Store
- What's new (friends/community feed)
- Games
- TV/Media
- Apps
- Library
yeah, the XB1 menu and UI is complete garbage. I still have to stumble around to find my games list, achievement list, etc.
Two things about the ps4 os were really big factors in my decision to stick with the ps4 over the xbox one:
Hdmi-Cec - Press the playstation button on the ds4 and the receiver/tv turn on and set the correct inputs automatically and you're ready to play. No need to even touch the remote.
PlayGo - the vast majority of disk based games are ready to play within about two minutes of inserting the disk. Exceptions are games that are always online like The Elder Scrolls Online that require the latest patch to go online. Some offline games install only when you click the icon but those are a small minority of disk games.
Also the ds4 is far superior to the xbox one controller in every aspect except battery life.
Cant believe Microsoft fucked it up that badly after how great the xbox 360 controller was.
Ok sure but it's not like people weren't saying the same thing more often about the X1. The home screen has an active app, 3 recent apps, your pins, and a library "folder". It's not confusing. Switching apps is just slow.I was just saying people use the "PS4 takes long to find the game I want" argument in these threads sometimes, and was giving my retort. It just brings the last game you played to the front. Unless you play 10 games at a time, there should be no issue.
I just said I have played PS4 much more, and said it was my opinion as well.
"/shrugs"
Don't know man, I always hated the stacked boxes and ads for games all over the place
The controller is money though
I personally don't agree with you about your about social or ui but each his own
I just wish the Xbox store was a little bit quicker and I wish the installs where faster
You can set the XBO so it turns your television and sound system on and off when you turn it on/off.
And not many games are playable in two minutes unless you count looking at the menu while the rest of the game installs. But that's a problem with both systems.
So really it's just the controller. And each to their own on that one.
I like the look of the XBO interface. Microsoft truly does have sleek presentation. And fuck that new white PS4 notification.
That said, it's a disaster and horrible to use. Even my friend, who is as blind a Microsoft fanboy as they come (self-admitted) hates the UI. It's clunky, slow, and confusing.
But at the end of the day, it's only a UI. Something you'll likely only spend 2% of your total time with the console navigating through. What matters are the games and that experience. And that's where neither company really has an advantage over the other.
Both are good systems.
But Vita is best.
Instead to double tap,.. just hold the PS button... everything there without leave the game.I think the NXOE is better than the PS4's in terms of layout, functionality, and ease of use. I just double tap the Xbox button and I have friends, party, messages, achievements, notifications, settings, etc right there and I dont even have to leave a game. From this Guide, I can just tap X or Y to save a clip or screenshot, or hover left over a Friend and just tap X to automatically start a party with him/her. And the Guide hardly ever lags for me.
OK, you are pretending. The games list is placed at the top right hand, convient for all eyes to see.
Digital depends a lot how your connection is... takes about 2-3 days to download a 50GB game in my connection (Brasil here) so discs are always better option.Maybe it's because I go all digital but install times are perfectly fine for me. The store on the other can be a nightmare. It always lags and I often end up pressing buttons more than I should making the navigation a pain in the ass. Very frustrating.

Xbox has ADs. Last week there was a gears 4 tab (a tab, not just an ad), this week there is a battlefield tab. (And everytime i start or exit a game in mcc a full screen gold ad pops up.)

There's a reason why I haven't touched my PS4 in months.
I simply hate using the thing. And the controller is absolutely terrible.
This is why Xbox One is the best selling game system in the USA 🇺🇸
I personally think the tiled interface of the Xbox One is a complete shit show. Ads, Ads everywhere, and I feel like Major Nelson as the poster child is a weird choice.
One tile on the main dashboard and a tab?, that's hardly everywhere.
