Closer to Three King's Day.Christmas comes late this year
Now it's bad when Nintendo makes an announcement a few months early?Announcing a January announcement in October, LOL

So we'll know nothing about its price, release date and friggin launch games until 2 months before it launches? This has to be unprecedented for any major console, right?
I hope nintendo knows what they're doing. I don't like this strategy. They should've made more noise before this holiday season so they're in the conversation hoping many light hold off for the Switch. Instead many more would be Switch users will buy another console this Christmas.
Well if it's a game then I would say Final Fantasy. I've already said I'm expecting FFVIIR on Switch
The day after my birthday. Yesssss
I'm sorry, I will self-flagellate 64 times as penance for implying there's something humorous about our holy lord and savior Nintendo making an announcement nearly 3 months in advance for another announcement. Now it's bad when Nintendo makes an announcement a few months early?

Not the franchise in itself but for that specific company, on a home console. Last appearence on a Nintendo home console was on GC if I am remember right. That's if you consider full release and not Snake in Smash.
Another Thursdayton? What the f Nintendo
How do you get totals like this? Built into Youtube or did someone manually do this?
Cool to have a date.
Now let the 77 days of hype begin!
Though I actually hope that nothing gets leaked beforehand this time.
Look at it this way. People won't be going crazy everyday with a date to look forward to.I'm sorry, I will self-flagellate 64 times as penance for implying there's something humorous about our holy lord and savior Nintendo making an announcement nearly 3 months in advance for another announcement.
I'm fine with Nintendo pre-announcing this. The wait and uncertainty of when they were going to anounce Switch after E3 was annoying. Especially coming to GAF and seeing the front page full of NX threads speculating when they were going to anounce it.I'm sorry, I will self-flagellate 64 times as penance for implying there's something humorous about our holy lord and savior Nintendo making an announcement nearly 3 months in advance for another announcement.

They are cutting it kinda close, no? I mean its coming out in March. I fear its going to get delayed until 2017 holiday.
I don't understand the argument that 2 months is not enough time to announce, market and sell a title... to me that's a better timeline than what every other pub does.
With 2 months they are going to assuredly show younthe actual game and not some BS fake trailer or target renders. With 2 months they are going to almost certainly know that the release date for the game is on time and won't be delayed. Two months is plenty of time to watch trailers and get hands on impressions... why do people even wanna see games years out from their launch? The games that get shown years before they release aren't representative of the final product. Makes no sense to me. I wish all games were announced and shown a month or two out. It's plenty of time to get hyped, and you'll be sure to be hyped for an actual game and not vaporware or a bunch of lies.
Those are yearly events, so their general dates are taken for granted long before the actual dates are announced.I don't see how this is much different then getting the E3 and PSX dates months in advance.
I am fine with this announcement of an announcement but comparing psx to Nintendo releasing details of a brand new console possibly launching 2 months later isn't apples to apples.SIE announced PSX 2016, which occurs this December, in September.
This is a three day event, not a Nintendo Direct.

Closer to Three King's Day.
It looks like they wanted to make it clear they won't say anything before the end of the year.![]()
Didn't stop other presentations to get partially leaked beforehand.Considering it's a live event, it most likely will
If GAF has taught me one thing, it's that people love to be lied to.
Leave out your shoes.Less than a week after it actually.
