Conversations on politics must be fun btw the two of you lol
They can be! She's from a small town (<200 people, all white, farmers, never left her hometown until college) and has been 'brainwashed' all her life. Slowly chipping away, though. It takes time.

The Rude Pundit summed up my feelings pretty well so far:

edit: sorry for the somewhat fucked up image.

I live in a suburb of Atlanta and I have to say I was really surprised at how little choice I actually had when voting. Yeah, I had 3 choices for President and Senator, but every single local office was a Republican running unopposed. It's very telling that other parties don't even bother trying to run against them.

I feel your pain, living in Alabama here. I should be used to it by now but it's still depressing as hell.

Good news, Nevada is most likely going blue.

----The Democrats won Clark County by more than 11,000 votes Friday (final mail count not posted yet), a record margin on a record-setting turnout day of 57,000 voters. The Dems now have a firewall -- approaching 73,000 ballots -- greater than 2012 when Barack Obama won the state by nearly 7 points. The 71,000 of 2012 was slightly higher in percentage terms, but raw votes matter. The lead is 14 percentage points -- right at registration. You know what else matters? Registration advantages (142,000 in Clark). Reminder: When the Clark votes were counted from early/mail voting in 2012, Obama had a 69,000 vote lead in Clark County. Game over.

Without Nevada, Trump's path to 270 is nearly impossible without a video of Hillary personally slitting a kid's throat.

Voted early yesterday in Kansas and have got the weekend off to mentally prepare for the nightmare that is going to be Tuesday. Let's do this.

Well good luck to you. I've seen a lot of similar transitions happen. Once people move out of their small town bubble the exposure usually gets them to see just how big the world is.

Voted straight democratic ticket for the first time here in TX.

She won't win TX, but I hope it is closer than ever and at least makes them sweat for a bit.

So excited that I might have a chance to vote in Missouri's 2nd Dem Senator. Kander is so cool.

Btw, anyone have a good supercut of all the embarrassing shit Trump has said that I can send to all my relatives who are considering voting for Trump? Maybe I can convince them to vote 3rd party instead (since they'll never vote Clinton).

Voted overseas absentee a month ago. My vote goes to California so it's not much of a game changer, but it feels good to have voted against Donald Trump.

It's a bit surreal that the election OT is finally here.

Trump still has no path if he loses FL, correct? So if any projection emerges early in the evening (unlikely as it may be) that Clinton is taking the state, the race is more or less over?

...oh my god that insane. good work clinton ground team.
Not quite, it's probably good work Trump GOTV effort!

Is that democrats that already voted? If so, man, its over. Specially if he loses Nevada. President Hillary!
They're not necessarily Democrats, but since many of these are going to be first time voters, there probably aren't going to be many Trump voters among them. And since people who vote once are more likely to vote again, the Republicans are going to see a lot of long term consequences from this election.

So we are voting in a single term president either way right?

If Clinton wins, it's still going to be difficult for Republicans to nominate someone who can win a general election. They have to convince Trump supporters (who will be very angry with the Republican establishment) to nominate a candidate that can still win over a sizable percentage of minority voters.

Nevada is already in the bag and only gonna get worse for Trump along with FL. Maybe pissing off an entire group of the largest growing segment of minority voters wasn't such a hot idea aye?

Good luck with that shit. The Republicans have lost every minority in the United States for good now. They will die out relying on just white men

What's the best way to find information about my local candidates and the state questions? I live in Union County, NJ. Already know I'm voting for Clinton for President and Peter Jacob for Congress but I have no idea where to start when it comes to the 3 questions and town council/board of ed stuff.

I know I'll probably be voting Dem all the way down but I think some local candidates dont have party affiliations plus that doesn't explain the questions.

Cast vote gaf. Straight Democratic all the way for everyone.

Dems in the white House.
Dems in the courts.
Dems in the school boards.

We taking over!

Put in my vote a few weeks ago. It's Oregon, so not like it matters, but I don't think I'll ever not vote. Especially with by-mail voting, it's so easy here. Like, damn.

Kinda proud of myself that I didn't go straight party. Since I could research at my leisure, I found a few local races where a third party/independent candidate made more sense. Don't wanna find myself voting blind partisan.

Anyway, I've got tequila in the cabinet for when the taco trucks arrive. I'm set. Let's America!

I'm concerned about Clinton's SCOTUS picks even if we take the Senate.

I wonder if she realizes that bipartisanship is dead and a moderate justice won't help her with conservatives or undecideds in the future.

We need young LIBERAL justices.
