You do have to take responsibility for the bad parts of a candidates policies. By voting for Trump that is an explicit acceptance of the responibility of his pure racism and misogyny

This is where it has to stop. There are people that want a party change, and they firmly believe that voting for Trump is the way to get that out there. They're not all selfish, sexist, racist bigots. They're tired of being fed the same garbage every four years.

The fact that someone like Trump made it this far, and can actually be considered a threat in this election has sent a message to both major parties that people are sick of it.

If they can ignore all the damage Trump (not to mention their party itself) does to other people then I'm sorry but they're the definition of selfishness.

Feels like it needs to be said again and again-- no matter who you feel is the best option, go vote.

Not only that, take a moment to do at least a cursory search about your races down ballot.

I've said it before-- I'm voting Clinton but far more importantly, I'm voting and did my homework on the down ballot. Going to be another year where 1 column just won't do.

Incentivizing people to stay home like what was (in jest I hope) a couple pages ago is fucking gross. I may not like your choice but you're sure as fuck allowed to make it.

CNN just had a piece earlier about how Jayz and other celebs might hurt Hillary. Fuck off. You could tell by the way they presented it , they wanted people to be afraid that this wont help

A vote for a candidate is not a blanket endorsement of everything he or she has ever done or said. I'm talking in the abstract and not about Trump necessarily. For instance, you can disagree with Obama's drone policies but still vote for him in 2012 because his domestic policy wasn't a Romney-style dumpster fire.

Or else you end up not voting for anyone at all because everyone's done stuff you're not "OK" with.

People here just need to lower their emotional temperatures, honestly.

I'll politely disagree here. I mean there's a reason why David Duke and other known racists believe they have control of the GOP now. Trump's campaign is kind of built on the same rhetoric that Ed Norton spewed off as a Neo-Nazi skinhead in American History X. At this point I think personally, that it's a known quantity. Trump's platform and his campaigning were built and ran on racial discrimination.

I think that single issue voters, that will vote against Hillary for their own self interests (guns for example) are doing so fully aware of what Trump said and stands for. I don't think there's any room anymore for "Oh I'm not racist, I am voting for Trump for Supreme Court Justices/Abortion/Taxes/Guns/etc", At least personally I don't think so.

Trump and Pence are representing and advocating for a loss of human rights for minorities across the United States. You can't vote for them, not being aware of that fact.

Also, maybe GAF will tighten down on falsely calling out people as racists and bigots finally, and all the hate spewing done by the people who ironically hate Trump and his followers who are hate-filled.

Perhaps you need to take some time to see what he, his surrogates, and a nice chunk of supporters say out loud. Maybe you've grown up hearing the garbage they spew from a loved one, so you give a pass. I'll tell you that, for me, I thought I'd never vote in my life. Even the idea of the first black president couldn't get me out of my house..crazy! I know..

Voted yesterday for the first time in my life because FUCK him and every one of his racist shitty followers and those who rock blinders. Fuck those that let it slide. Fuck those tired of PC people, while crying in their little safe spaces. Fuck the hypocrisy from these idiots. There are other choices that aren't Hillary rod ham..

Naw. What I'm saying is someone who is more "business aligned" than "politically groomed." Someone who understands they need to first fix the core before over-extending ourselves, which is one of the reasons our debt is what it is. There are people who really wish we could make America great again, just not 1:1 routing as proposed by Trump. It is also getting worse because of this email scandal. You know how many of my friends in the military or government positions said if they used email in that manner they would have been immediately on trial?

This election has certainly proved we have a real mess on our hands here, and that Matt and Trey via South Park are almost always right.

Yeah... suuuuuuure.

God Im so happy Tuesday is breathing down our necks. Take it face first... Seriously. Can't WAIT!

And those people are both cowardly and stupid for using someone like Donald Trump of all people as an answer for that. Cowardly because they clearly aren't going to be the ones thrown under the bus, and even if they were they're dragging other innocent people down with them. Stupid because Donald Trump is the living embodiment of corruption, Wall Street, the establishment et al and has enough examples from this year alone to exemplify his sleaze. Completely illogical and lacking in any critical thinking or empathy whatsoever.

Those bigot enablers can crawl back into their holes and fade further and further away as the world moves on. If they actually cared about fixing anything we'd see them doing something more merit worthy than voting for a bigot and his bigot party once every few years.

Ted Nugent grabbed his crotch on stage and stated that his genitalia was black and blue.

Actually on second thought he should really go to a doctor. This could be a cry for help. That sort of bruising is not normal.

What they really mean is having black celebrities endorse her means they'll scare off white voters. You can't be friends with black people if you want their vote.

That's how I took it. You get the #BlueLivesMatter
ButOnlyWhenBlacksAreInvolved
folk's panties ruffled with Beyonce up there..

you know that feel, you know, when you are in a heated text exchange with immediate family discovering who support who. it is terrifying.

Wonder if someone could get a video of it. Just aired at the end of Anderson cooper. They had some old dude just keep saying "Jay Z , katy perry etc, wont do shit, she is desperate" mind you, this wasnt a panel just a straight up piece. Fucking awful

I do agree with this for the most part. I think too many people look at this choice as some sort of blanket endorsement for everything and then they try and think they have to accept it all or else the candidate doesn't 'deserve' their vote. There's too much of that. A candidate won't align with you 100%, because they're not you. You don't actually have to be ok with everything they are for. You just have to make the most logical choice given the circumstances at the time, like almost any other choice you have to make as an adult.

That said, Trump is far and away a different beast than usual, in my opinion, and no one's really given me sufficient evidence that there really is something there to vote for other than the racism and utter insanity he stands for. I could see it with Romney and I could see it with McCain. I can't with Trump. I just can't. He's way too horrible of a choice for anyone to make.

Same shit, different day.

Wikileaks has had nothing since day zero, but r/the_donald loves to pretend otherwise.

Yup. The whole "spirit cooking" nonsense is really telling. If Wikileaks had anything truly incriminating, they certainly wouldn't be trying to push such a ridiculous story in the days leading up to the election.

To be honest, I'm probably not voting at all. I know that's bad, but I'm not throwing a parting ballot at someone irrelevant to attempt to send a message which will be ignored. I do believe though that these two parties are going to head in different directions regardless of this times votes. It's been noted by them that the American people are pissed to the point that someone like Trump who has basically zero political skill can come in and actually give the others a run for their money.

We need a man with the business savy to take a chainsaw to tax revenues, but not make any significant proposals to reduce government spending, and build a big fucking wall with hypothetical Mexican money.

Thank God it's almost over. I've never been more embarrassed to call myself an American abroad than during this election. The sooner this circus of an election ends the better.

I am still undecided (in Nevada). I may leave my pick for president intentionally blank. What horrible candidates we have this time around. Clinton may actually be the better candidate in that she can actually play the politician and one will hope that she can actually do what Bill did and make deals across the aisle unlike our current president. But the thing is I worry enough about her that I can't even vote for her as a lessor of two evils. I think they are both horrible candidates in different ways and will both be equally bad for the country but maybe not both in the same ways.

I'm pretty sure Clinton is going to win though.

Lol. They're not going to work with her.

Honestly clintons got this, the real showdown for Tuesday and the topic everyone should be talking about is the senate. Its razor close and could dramatically effect how much the president can do. Hell if it goes republican they could block the supreme court for 4 more years.

If you truly feel this way than please vote for her. Please.
I'll quote myself from another thread on this, and just change a few things for your particular context:

"For anyone who feels this way: Why not? I mean, might as well vote for one of them while you're there. You're going to be there anyway and one of them's going to be President. And why not let that person be Clinton? You hate them both anyway, so why not defer to the rest of America, who the President will represent and listen to what they have to say on the matter, because we'll tell you loud at clear there's only one answer here, and that answer is Hillary Clinton.

After all, even if you don't like either of them, I hope you understand that you're not voting for someone to be your friend. You don't have to like them. You can even loathe them! Again, you aren't votign them to be your friend, but the leader of the country. They don't have to be someone you like to be able to do that, but rather be the best leader. The important thing is to consider which one will actually be able to benefit the lives of more people across the country. Which will be able to do the more good for the greatest number of people. And there the choice is clear, considering one candidate has rallied against every group in America save white men and the other hasn't and has actually demonstrated she cares about them.

My real name is Tim Brown, I'm a psychology major and I hope to become a high school guidance counselor so that I can help young people to figure out what they want to do with their lives and to reach their potential to the best of my ability. And I'm bisexual. As a bisexual individual who doesn't want to see justices like Scalia appointed to the Supreme Court who would overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, the kind of judges Trump has said he would appoints if he wins and, thus restricting my freedom to marry who I choose, if I could, I would meet you in person and get on my knees and beg for your vote if I had to. I shouldn't have to and many wouldn't because they have too much pride or dignity or don't have the time for that, and more power to that and I fully respect that because like I said no one should have to do that and we shouldn't have to do abandon our pride and diginity and shouldn't have to beg, especially after all these years. but I would.

And that's because that's how much it matters to me, and that's how much of an impact this election will have on the lives of people like me across the country. And that's the case even if you live somewhere like Texas or Arkansas or West Virginia or (or alternatively, New York or California or Washington) somewhere else where you feel your vote doesn't matter at all, because that's just not true. It might not matter in terms of the Electoral College in that case, but nonetheless every vote against Trump in the Popular Vote sends that much stronger of a message that we Americans don't stand for that type of hate, and that that's not who we are and that we're suppose better than that.

Now, that might not matter much to you, because you might not have much at stake at this election. But people such as myself do. For us, what's at stake is our ability to marry the people who we love, regardless of that person's sex or gender identity. For my Muslim brothers and sisters across the country, it's the right to feel secure in their personhood and without fear that President Trump or his victory will try to kick them out of the country or otherwise persecute them simply because of their faith. For my Hispanic and Latino Americans who would be in quite a similar position under Trump, always being accused of being an illegal immigrant or if not that nonetheless being a rapist or drug dealer or some other form of criminal. For the African Americans, such as those among the Central Park Five, who Trump still sees as being inherently criminal despite being completely exonerated and the actual culprit having come forward and been convicted to this day as well as the tenants Trump and his father denied housing too simply based on the color of their skin and was thus sued for housing discrimination two separate times on the matter. For the women, who Trump sees as sex objects and pigs, beings who exist for his pleasure and nothing more and nothing less. And for the many minorities across the country in general who are having their voting rights restricted by people like Trump and the GOP because the party doesn't give a fuck about democracy and making sure that every person gets to have their voice heard as easily as possible but rather will do whatever it takes to stay in power and if that means restricting early voting or closing polling locations or what-have-you, then so be it.

None of this may matter to you personally and your vote may not personally affect it or change the tide of any of the matters. But even if that's the case, it still sends that much more powerful message that that type of hate isn't what it means to be an American and isn't who we are. You might not think it does, but to bisexual men and women such as myself across the country, as well my gay, lesbian, and transgender brothers and sisters each vote against Trump really does send that much more powerful of a message that this isn't who we are as Americans and that we're better than that, and that that really does matter to people like me and give me that much more hope in the United States and make me feel that much more positive about our country and the direction we're heading. As it does to my black brothers and sisters who don't want to see a racist elected president and every vote against him sends that much stronger of a message against someone who discriminated against black tenants and tried to lobby for the death penalty to be brought back to New York state because of five black and Hispanic teenagers who had done nothing wrong and were falsely accused. As it does to the Muslim Americans in country, who love this country as much as any other American and just want to worship in peace without being prosecuted for their faith. As it does to Hispanic and Latinos, even if they do happen to be undocumented and are just doing their best to support their families and loved ones and sure as fuck contribute more in taxes to the economy and to better this nation than the person who wants to send them back to Mexico and calls "most" of them criminals and rapists. As it does to women across the country, who don't want to be seen as just sex objects but be respected for who they are and just might appreciate the fact that we could be about to have our first woman President, and she would be one of the most qualified candidates to date for the position even if she might have her flaws.

You might not think your personal vote can send that much of a message against all of that hate, but it does. Each vote really does send that much stronger of message that that isn't who we are as Americans and that that isn't alright and that we're better than that, and that does matter. Maybe not to you, but it does to each and every one of us, and gives us that much more hope in our fellow Americans and the direction this country is going and that does matter. A lot.

So if you yourself can't decide between the candidates, then do it for us. Because it might not matter to you, but it does to each and every one of us. And we're telling you that there's only one candidate in this race: the one that doesn't despise every group in America save white men. So please, vote for her in that case. Because even if it doesn't matter to you, it sure as hell matters to us. And you're not just voting for your president, but the President who will have to represent the entire United States, including every one of those groups I mentioned. And they'll all tell you the same thing I am: that there is only one choice in this election and it does matter how you use that vote. Maybe not for you, but it definitely does for us. So if you can't bring yourself to decide, then at least listen to what we're telling you and use your vote to send that much stronger of a message that that isn't who we are. Because it does matter, and it does add up. Every single vote.

Please. Let people such as myself have faith in this country for once. That we're a country full of people that do care about all of that. That we're full of people that are full of love, and that refuse to accept the hate Trump dishes out towards every group in the United Sates and won't tolerate it even if the other candidate isn't quite perfect because of the sheer level of hate he dishes out that's nowhere close to any of Hillary's flaws (and indeed, I recognize that she's flawed, but there's just no comparison). Let me have faith that not only will the guy get nowhere close to the Presidency, but that the man who wants to or has done all those things I mentioned not only won't win, but will be completely obliterated because not only are those qualities that we refuse to accept in our leaders, but are qualities that we'd refuse to accept even in our friends and let him lose by the largest margin possible to send that message as loud and clear as possible. That we can be better than that, and that we are. Because every bit louder we make that message does make that much more of a difference to people like me and gives me that much more faith. It does.

Please. Just... Please."

Its all going to come down to NH.

Toomey and Joe HECK are both goners. Blunt and Burr are safe, and Young has caught Bayh.

Buddy. Clinton is nowhere near a bad choice for President at all. She's been a woman in the limelight for decades. She's rubbed certain assholes the wrong way, and they've went to town on her reputation. Tonight, research what she's done in her entire political career. Compare that to Donald Trump.

Vote.

How in the world are they both equally bad for the country? One has e-mails and the other is a fascist, misogynist, racist Russian puppet. He's Putin's useful idiot. That's not even getting into their tax plans which Trump's will add an estimated $8 trillion to the national debt which could very well put the US into a debt spiral which is basically what happened to Greece. Hillary's will just add $200 billion to the national debt. On a microscopic level Hillary's plan will decrease taxes for the middle class, as will Trump's, but not by as much as Hillary's plan.

Then there's healthcare(Trump will decrease the amount of insured and increase the out-of-pocket cost for healthcare/Hillary is the opposite), foreign policy, Supreme Court justices, you know those people that uphold the constitution, the list goes on...

You know how many of my friends in the military or government positions said if they used email in that manner they would have been immediately on trial?

I was in the military, worked in network administration, and I administered classified email servers. I also worked as a COMSEC Manager responsible for classified information on my base. Its true, if you send classified information on an unclassified network, you would be in trouble. Hilariously, that actually *doesn't* always mean prosecuted, even if you actually did it, which may shock some people. Even assuming it did, there's a whole lot about this scandal that stinks. The actual way this whole thing started was some jackass found out Clinton was using a private server as head of state and said "WHAT? SHE MIGHT BE LEAKING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION." And the whole thing was intentionally blown up to harm her politically since they knew she'd eventually be running for President again. So they blew it up in an investigation, eventually got a subpoena and Clinton turned in the servers. Any email server administrator on Neogaf can tell you here and now, once she did that, the jig was up; once they have administrative access to the server if there was anything incriminating on it they would have found it, probably within days or weeks. Since it's an email server and there are (fucking obviously) deleted emails on it, the "scandal" then became "Oh, well she deleted them". The problem with that, is that since people are innocent until proven guilty in this country: you can't accuse someone of something, subpoena the thing that would have evidence of it, find no evidence whatsoever, and then say they're guilty anyway. Weird, I know. The other problem is that even if they found something damning on the server, by pure statistical chance it would probably have been sent by an aide or intern or some other person who is not Hillary Clinton in her administration. The only thing in their dreams they could possibly even try to prosecute her for then would be negligence for having private servers in the first place, which a number of other administrations have also had, so that really wouldn't fly. The whole debacle is the very definition of a manufactured scandal.

I am currently sitting at a 90% chance of crying all night on election night.

I was super hyped when Obama won, but I wasn't nearly as invested that time around. I was practically a different person then.

There's an interesting poll of Ohio that was just released. It finds Trump ahead 43-40 overall, but that Hillary leads 48-41 amongst those who already voted; Trump's overall lead is based on a 44-38 margin amongst people who didn't vote early. I expect it's going to be razor-thin in Ohio either way.

To ensure that DC v. Heller remains as a safeguard against overzealous Democrats.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be so much of a coward that you feel like you absolutely need your guns to feel safe. To put your guns on such a high pedestal that everything else in the world is lesser than them. I honestly feel bad for people like you who are so afraid of the world that you need to hide in your corner protected by your weapons, uncaring for everyone around you, that you would put your weapons above others freedom. Then again, based on your post history, it's pretty clear that's far from the only reason you voted for Trump.
