I mean, I think it's pretty clear that we say to them "why are you voting for a Nazi though."

When I see them in here I say that to them! There just aren't very many because it turns out voting for a Nazi correlates with behaviors that get you banned from GAF.

You know how many death threats Obama got for being the first black President? He's still kicking. The real threats to the President are from people who don't openly advertise their intentions online for all to see,

First time voting because I was 2 months shy last election, so I was a bit nervous. Next on the agenda is getting rid of that corrupt slob Christie.

Sounds like folk wisdom not based on any evidence. I doubt that you would be really all that surprised if some online nutjob went on to carry out an actual assassination.

The reason that we haven't seen that very much yet is because assassinations are relatively infrequent and social media is still pretty new. The reason that Obama is still safe probably has more to do with the see Secret Service.
 
My parents and I early voted for Hillary here in Texas. My parents are pretty staunchly republican and don't like Obama by any means but thankfully they never bought into the shit Trump was spewing. (My mother is hispanic lmao)

I know they still voted republican for senate congress etc. and barring a Trump 2.0 in 2020 they'd go straight R again next presidential election, but it's nice to see my parents not being blind supporters of that asshole.

I agree, but it's nice to know that 40% of America was willing to support a white nationalist. Knowing is definitely better than not knowing.
