You think this country hates you because they voted for someone you don't agree with? The "country" does not hate you because you're a black woman. There are 330 million people in this country, 28% of which are non-white. About 50% are women. Not every man, or white man, hates you. Of course there's assholes out there, but don't ignore that many people (very) begrudgingly voted for Trump, and actively dislike him. Part of the reason Trump got this far is because people also hate Clinton...Trump running against Al Gore or Obama would have turned out differently.

Could have fooled me. I don't know what you want me to believe when so many people are willing to support Trump. Whether they vote for him because of his racist, sexist rhetoric, or regardless of it, they are willfully voting for a man who is holds very racist and sexist views. Either they support it, or just don't give a shit.

The only way I can see Clinton winning now:

That's always been the firewall. If she loses PA VA or MI its over

Gaf confirmed useless echo chamber. Even if Trump doesn't win how can a guy like that have so many chances?!

I'm not american so I've been trying to not get involved but this is blowing my mind!

My 401k is going to feel this. At least I just started and only got a couple hundred dollars. I can take the L and start saving my money under the bed

You think the guy that picked Pence is going to veto the absolute hog-shit coming through he pipes from a Republican congress?

Probably not veto, but he's in the best position to actually liberalize the Republican base a bit. Remember, he is a good liar, and his previous positions were actually pretty Democratic leaning.

That's not the point though. The point is, it could be a lot worse. President Cruz? Fuck that noise.

Whatever happens...

Let's all vow to do our best to never let it reach this point again.

Let's all become better people to compensate for this becoming a worse country.

Instead of giving into despair, let's double down. We'll become more knowledgeable, and do more with that knowledge. We'll reach out to more people. We'll expand our ambitions. Even if Trump wins, we can still grow our place in the world, and do more to make it a better place.

A Trump victory would be an incredible blow to society, but we can survive. This is a lesson to replace complacency with action, to never again take anything for granted, and to not look to national politics for progress. It starts with us and our communities.

We're in this together. We'll be alright.

How is it possible to improve as a country when you have hatred at the lead?

This doesn't make sense.

Ah okay, I figured it was something along those lines.

Out of interest, why do they bother calling it at all? What difference does it make until the final count is done? Why not have the results pour in from final counts only?

TV networks want attention by being the first to declare winners. This caused problems in 2000 when all of the networks rushed to call Florida for Al Gore, and declaring that he won the election as a result, when it was far too close to responsibly declare a winner.

Networks are more careful about it now, but it's still the same general idea.
