Es como ver la Caída de Roma, pero con memes.

Is like watching the Fall of Rome, but with memes-

Have to wake up early for work tomorrow but I'm starting to feel a bit too nervous to go to sleep. I would rather go to sleep knowing the result, whatever it may be, than to possibly wake up to a Trump presidency.

Daily Show: "This feels like the funeral of America"

Honestly? he's not wrong. It's like being on a precipice of something dark.

There's a pretty decent chance that we're about to hand over the entire government to Republicans, including electing a megalomaniacal reality tv star who paints himself orange for fuck's sake. This does not end well. It ends pretty damn badly unless reasonable Republicans who have already been elected fucking mutiny.

I won't hold my breath. Things are about to get violent.

If Hilary loses where does this land on biggest political failures?

It takes 1st-10th place and ruins the Clinton and Obama legacy.

OH ENOUGH OF THIS "The Left has been just as bad" SHIT.

HE HAS LITERALLY ADMITTED AND HAD PEOPLE COME FORWARD SAYING HE RAPED THEM. HE IS ON RECORD SAYING MOUNTAINS OF BIGOTED, HATEFUL, EVIL THINGS.

HE IS A FUCKING MONSTER AND ANYBODY VOTING TO GIVE HIM SUPREME POWER WITH A REPUBLICAN HOUSE AND SENATE IS FUCKING ENABLING A MONSTER.

FUCK THEM.

The privileged getting what they want, and every last marginalized group is going to pay for it.

Fuck everything. Fuck anyone who says otherwise.

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

Yep, I'm a progressive but I can't disagree with this. The far left have helped deliver this result. A progressive agenda only works if you bring people along for the ride.

I completely understand how the people supporting Hilary/Bernie or just against Trump calling those that don't all sorts of derogatory names polarizes things even more and pushes them away. I do.

But when you look at Trump and how openly shitty a person he has been for decades, and the toxicity that he spews, it's very hard to justify people supporting him.

Furthermore, there are serious issues like his actual intelligence, his actual competence, how actual knowledge of issues, his potential relationship with Putin.

Like, the only thing he has going for him besides not being a politician is his fairly extreme populist views.

I get people who dislike Hilary. Who don't trust her. But there are a lot of people who have to look themselves in the mirror and stomach voting for a candidate like Trump. They may not all be racists or sexists or xenophobics, but there is an acceptance of those qualities that they overlooked in the candidate they voted for that quite frankly reflects very poorly on them.

This includes my parents and all my friends. Fuck me this is depressing.

The official party platform is to ban me from the country.

Who the fuck is demonizing who

So if you got pulled over by the police today, would they haul you off to be deported? I honestly don't know how it works.

There is a path to citizenship and it's not easy but I've seen my step-brother in law and his entire family do it. Theyre very successful people who run a business in Wisconsin here. That's not going to be everyone's experience of course.

I'm fully willing to admit I don't know enough about the immigration process to say either way, not trying to out any blame or anything, I know it's a sensitive topic.

I can't help but feel that the Republican supports on the TV who are congratulating themselves really have no fucking idea who a win is going to affect them over the next four year.

I would say that people really do get what they deserve but this is going to effect so many people in ways that they probably can't imagine when they wake up tomorrow and Trump has spend months telling the world which types of people are going to be the first in line to feel this.

Dow future down almost 700pts, stock market crashing tommorrow. Thanks Trump..😱

Its not that people like trump its that they view hildawg as BIG GOV'T and dislike that/her more

Cant believe its this freaking close tho. Pure absurdity. So ashamed hes gonna be the face of my country

It's odd, but if you turn on any of the major Hispanic TV networks right now, the majority are projecting that Clinton is winning. Everyone is showing different numbers, but Clinton is on top in most of them.

Meanwhile every other news source online is saying the opposite.

Glad I decided not to post anything on social media voicing an expectation of Clinton winning. A silver lining of Trump winning will be that all his supporters will get to see just how shitty he will actually be as POTUS and how much farther America will fall under his rule. Hopefully they will finally see how they were lied to all this time by a man with no real plans.

I'm so depressed right now. As a Muslim American, I feel like a sitting duck under a trump presidency. I'm not kidding when I say this, I'm going to be looking for jobs in Canada since my wife is Canadian and in Dubai since I have family there.

Trump claims he's gonna boost the economy and "bring back jobs" but rarely ever explains how that's gonna happen.

One thing he has said is he'll put big tariffs on Chinese and Mexican exports and pull out of NAFTA, but those are more likely to tank the economy if anything.
That's all you need to do, though. Just say you'll do something. Dont' elaborate. Just make the claim, and that's good enough (aparrently). According to him he'll be opening some auto factories in Michigan.

Welp. Theres more racist people in this nation than not.

I guess nothing changes for me tomorrow besides knowing it's a fact now.

Landslide. Lol. Bitches.

Pretty much. People acting like this was any surprise, America you have some very fucked up issues you've yet to acknowledge.

Honestly, I didnt even think Trump had a chance going into today. I thought to myself, there's no way we are this dumb. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Damn, this was totally unexpected all the medias were mocking Trump etc. And now this? Looks like Trumps silent following has worked good.

Good post and good point.

These results really don't jive with anything real up until now. Something really fishy is likely going on and I hope it's uncovered before he's inaugurated, if he really does win. We still have two months...

This is no better than Trump saying the elections are rigged.

More people wanted Trump in the states where it mattered. Accept it.

Maybe now we can dispel with the pretense that America is post racial once and for all.

I ain't even mad at Trump voters.

I'm pissed at the people who knew better and still couldn't be bothered to vote.

Yup. I place this loss squarely on the front porch of the: "I'm not voting", "Third party", and "Bernie or bust" crews.

I have never talked about women like that tho, that's ridiculous. Women are a playpen to him, that's disgusting
Yeah that's my thing. On top of his lack of details for a lot of what he plans to do, his perception/attitude of women and minorities sours me on him. From the get go I couldnt see myself supporting a man who embodies/encourages such ugliness and ugly people (not literally ugly of course).
