Maybe now we can dispel with the pretense that America is post racial once and for all.

Yup. I place this loss squarely on the front porch of the: "I'm not voting", "Third party", and "Bernie or bust" crews.

Nah, its Hillary, derp.

White America needs to lose, especially white working class. They need to burn so hard for this. I hope my parents lose their retirement, that is horrible I know, but unfortunately people don't reflect until they feel actual pain.

Part of me wants to believe that all of Trump's rigged election talk was him projecting. And HES actually the one rigging this election. That would be the only thing that would keep me hopeful for the people of America. But probably not!

ENJOY WATERING YOUR PLANTS WITH GATERADE FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS STATES.

The people who choose Hilary Clinton as their candidate knowing how unpopular she was have to shoulder the blame for this. Near enough anyone else would beaten Trump.
The shame is that GOP has had a 10 year headstart on campaigning against and lying about Hilary. It's damn hard to undo all the damage the GOP has done towards her image with all of their fuckery. And the sad thing is they won. The American people lapped their shit up (well, half of us anyway).

I'm going to go on a long rant here and I'm sure in this fast moving thread no one will read it, but it's going to be at least a little cathartic. I'm also going to put this forum on blast a bit.

You know, I'm just going to take a moment to say that some of us tried to warn so many of you. The whole "social justice warrior" online movement or whatever you want to call it that this forum in particular has come to be dominated by. Shame and spite do not do anything to help one's cause.

Unrepentantly calling all white people racists and bigots and sexists and misogynists is what brought this on. I've joked on here about voting for and supporting Trump, but god knows I never actually did. But I've always been able to at least sympathize with those "deplorables" for the blatant hypocrisy on the left when it comes to all of those social issues that dominate social media these days.

too many people on the left, and on GAF especially, remind me of the conservatives in the years following 9/11 under Bush. Everything was viewed through a polarizing, black and white filter. You are either with us or with the terrorists. You are either a ____ist or you're not.

You can't demonize and shame people and expect they'll agree with you. They'll only dig their heels in further, especially if they feel attacked.

This is some real truth here, folks:
All the people who are very likely or even (ugh) probably going to put Donald fucking Trump in the White House tonight are not voting because they hate women or blacks or mexicans or whoever else. I'm also not saying that the hatred isn't a factor, because it's been shown repeatedly that at least on some level it's an animating force for all of this... but people are complex animals but you've turned them into cartoon villains and stereotypes without every trying to understand them or why they actually feel the way they do.

Polarization is bad. The right has been polarized for a long time, but now the left is too, and it's biting them back hard tonight. If Trump wins and has the House and Senate behind him, this is literally the end of America as we know it and the beginning of a new BRIC nation world alignment. That's really fucking bad.

quoting this again for posterity

Maybe he'll be surprisingly moderate? Certainly a better chance of that with Trump compared to someone like Cruz.

The fear isn't whether he'll be hard right on the political spectrum as his politics are generally all over the place, it's that he has little to no understanding of the actual issues that face the country and is likely to do some things that are colossally stupid.

This is no better than Trump saying the elections are rigged.

More people wanted Trump in the states where it mattered. Accept it.

I'm never going to accept what I believe is bullshit. Ever. I don't trust this shit being real for a minute. You can give up if you want but I'm not going to.

I told you guys, people saying they were against Trump x would vote for Hilary were lying and were gonna vote for Trump because nobody knows who you voted for.

Glad I decided not to post anything on social media voicing an expectation of Clinton winning. A silver lining of Trump winning will be that all his supporters will get to see just how shitty he will actually be as POTUS and how much farther America will fall under his rule. Hopefully they will finally see how they were lied to all this time by a man with no real plans.

No they wont. They'll feel they're finally back on top of the food chain and they don't care who they have to crush.

Edit: Congrats to Putin. He crushed America without firing a single damn shot. Impressive.
