It's a n**** wake up call. Let it be known what the masses think of minorities. Let it be known that none of that "racism is dying with the older generations" shit is true (white millennials came out for Trump). Finally a politician that 'speaks his mind' and goes beyond the coded language to accomplish white supremacy. The reality of this country has been unearthed

Jesus Christ that is the truth.

Fuck man fuuuuuuck

LOL at the shook media. y'all have children in this country too and you helped fuck us. enjoy the next 4 years (oh wait you're wealthy and will be fine)

Trump supporters on gaf right now are really starting to get to me. We get it you smug fuckers, the dude you voted for won when in a logical human society he has no business in winning.

People are scared for their lives from Obama care being taken away or racism controling people to target people of color. While you just try to be all smug and laugh at everybody because hate won.

This is what happens when everyone has a right to vote. When grown-ups with the brain-capacities of a Primary-School kid are allowed to breed and decide the future of a country.

I can´t think of any other solution no matter how hard I try.

Decocracy doesn´t work when degenerates are allowed to have their opinion.

Look at Brexit!
People should stop acting like democracy is a miraculous system that is impervious to suggestion from shady individuals. Democracy is a tool that is only as strong as the people who wield it. It's not the solution to all governmental problems, and people should be aware of the places where it is weak so that they can work in order that it does not get abused.

Democracy is flawed, but at least it is a slow-moving system that works according to the desires of the people wielding it. Authoritarianism is entirely to the whims of the person controlling it at the moment. It's the best thing we have come up with and we should never forget that it is a man-made construct that could falter if we we are faulty ourselves.

any sad worried afraid americans are welcome to come to me in australia and bunk on my couch for a little bit on the condition that

a) you like beer
b) you dont arrive by boat

please pm to book a reservation

I'm not American, but I'd love to bunk on your couch. I do like beer and I can fly to Australia. Can I also apply?

I feel like I'm in some weird fucked up alternate reality.

Good luck America, you're going to need it but fundamentally, this decision will affect the entire world too.

Brexit and this just proves democracy doesn't work.

Will Congress allow him to do half the shit he says? I ain't sure how the US works.

guess who won that sector of the government btw....

dumbest fucking gen of voters in a minute. i don't know what the alternative is but it's getting easier to buy into the idea that a lot of these morons don't deserve the privilege of voting.

Wow. I am stunned America could elect this fucking guy after everything he has said and done. And handing the Republicans full control of Congress to rubber stamp Trumps 1%er agenda? This is awful. Watching his horde of bloodthirsty idiots screaming "lock her up!" at his victory rally really has me worried for our future. There is no defending that shit.

Great Britain: Damn...Brexit was the dumbest thing i ever did holy shit...

USA: Hold my Beer

I am speechless

Man crack a history book. Remember the crossing of the Delaware River?
Generals are elected? What am I missing here?

Edit: apparently Washington served on the Virginia House of Burgess. Besides Trump, Taft and Hoover are the only other presidents who's first elected office was PotUS.

Just picture it now GAF.

Trumps State of the Union address

It will be tremendous entertainment. Huge Entertainment.

He will be a room full of people who hate his fucking guts and he would be able to straight up talk shit to them. And they won't be able to do anything about it. Tremendous!

I really feel for you guys - I know your pain.

I went through exactly the same emotions when my country voted for Brexit earlier this year =(

2016 is going down in history as the dumbest year in Western Politics.

I was going to say hold it because Canada managed to vote out Harper and brought in liberal babe magnet Trudeau so western politics isn't so bad. However, I just remembered that the Canadian election happened in October of 2015. So 2016 still remains an ugly year for western politics.

Don't worry, when everything goes wrong, the GOP will still blame the democrats, even the GOP has total control right now. And the people who elected these fuck holes who fucked everything up will believe them too.

This is what happens when you have a complacent media that gives this man non-stop free advertising for a year, treats his bullshit spoutings as legitimate positions, and doesn't do its job of laughing at the clown until it was far too late.

Fuck the media.

Even most of Fox News was non-stop beating on Trump during the last few months for all the terrible shit he said. The Trump surrogates got destroyed in every single interview they were in.

No. This was the choice of the american people and it's their fault, not "the media's".

At first, I feel like there's no way he can win a second term. Then I think about it, and realize that I can't figure out who runs against him and wins in 2020 either. The Democratic Primary that year will be like the Republican Primary this year, with a lot of candidates who each have their own fatal flaws. I mean, this country will get worse over the next 4 years (possibly even Kansas levels of worse), but I don't think it'll be bad enough that voters will just flock to anyone the Dems put out there.

American GAF, I have a genuine question:

How did this happen exactly?

He ran a nationalist campaign that made several appeals to racism.

But that alone wouldn't have been enough. He's he first Republican in 50 years to actually make economic populist pitches. Infrastructure, railing against the trade deals, and frustration that Washington is holding the economy and country back because it doesn't function like its intended to.

The rust belt strategy worked perfectly. Had the democrats actually nominated a candidate that actually put the economic downturns of those areas at the forefront of their campaign we would not have lost this.

Now let's see those Tax returns...

Also GAF was like all of the white people who voted for Hillary? I mean fuck. How did we have such a low turnout for Hillary.

I'm awestruck right now.

Fuck Hillary, fuck DWS, fuck the DNC, fuck the complacent media, fuck Donald Trump, fuck the disgusting alt-right, and fuck everyone who used their vote to bring white nationalism, sexism, racism, and xenophobia to the global stage.

Truly the darkest, reddest timeline there is.

There are going to be a lot of middle class white dudes utterly dumbfounded when their jobs are suddenly gone in the next couple years.

"HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?"

ps they voted for trump

The victory speech was surprisingly gracious. He reached out to his opponents, even to Hillary. It calmed me a bit, but we'll see what happens.

A few months from now an unqualified, racist, xenophobic and misogynistic businessman will be running one of the most powerful countries in the world.

How the fuck did this happen.

Will Congress allow him to do half the shit he says? I ain't sure how the US works.

The biggest problem isn't even that Trump has the presidency, since he and the congress majority still don't exactly align on every issue. What we really need to be worried about is all of the vile shit that congress will now be able to pass without a Dem in office to veto it. Trump will probably approve whatever the hell crosses his desk as long as it's coming from a Republican. Essentially, all of the progress that Obama fought tooth and nail for over the last 8 years will be wiped away.

It's ridiculous to see a comment like this after eight progressive years of a black President.

And it's true.
