Agreed. She ended her campaign in the most cowardly manner, running away from the public and phoning the loss in.

At least she could have gone down by e-mailing Trump her concession from her private server!
A phone call is more than your candidate even admitted he would do in this case.

You voted for a certified baby and unfortantely that baby won, but he's still a baby and you will have to live with your terrible decisions.

USA, how could you!? HOW could you go from your first black president to the first (openly) racist president? Is it some sort of action/reaction thing?

No, Hillary was speaking to them too. It just wasn't a handwave answer that blamed illegal immigrants, nor a promise to bring back jobs that just aren't coming back.

Thats what sucks. They think that spending 20 billion on a fucking wall, or doing a trade war with our largest trade partner is gonna fucking make shit "great again".

Let's see if they actually enjoy what happens for the next 4 years.

I think what people fail to understand is social issues do not in any way effect these people. They are poor and white. Their finances effect them and they couldn't give two fucks about anything else. They voted for trump because he was the only one speaking to them about their problems.
The cracked article totally nailed it.

Conflating education with intelligent, moral decision-making is still the dumbest thing liberals do to justify their contempt for the poor and/or uneducated.

What was diablos' bet?

I believe Stump has to step down as mod, give him a tag of his choice, and recommend that Diablos be a mod.

*sigh*

I loathe Trump and if I could I would've voted Hillary, but come on now: GAF was literally 5th for the site that linked Hillary's official site the most on the internet.

People were absolutely stuck in their own bubble here, and it was obvious before the primaries were even over when so many people here turned on Bernie.

Same thread said we were the 4th most linked for Bernie.

I feel like I just watched Daenerys get shanked just before sitting on the Iron Throne, and fucking Stannis taking it.

Hope this inspires GRR Martin.

The pound tanked hard because of the Brexit news, and it SKYROCKET the price of games here

We are talking a %40 increase

Now that Trump has won I see the $ going the same direction for the next 6 months while the world stabilizes around this new

I swear if this bullshit USA election pushes the prices even higher im going to flip

Brexit made my physical PS4 games 20% cheaper.
Hopefully now my PSN digital purchases will go the same way, I see myself making quite a few preorders in the following weeks.

Honestly, I'd rather see a version with Putin. Those email hacks helped them.

What surprised me the most was not only that Hillary lose, but Trump actually defeated her in such a resounding manner. A complete and utter smackdown of unbelievable proportion.

Hooolly shit.

*sigh* .

Lol like Evilore would actually grant that last thing.

However the first two...

*Shakes head*

The price of being too overly confident, I guess.

Hillary will likely win the popular vote. There are still a ton of votes that haven't been reported yet in California.

I will admit that I didn't think Trump had a chance. I thought that the minority turnout would reach new records this year and that minorities would come out overwhelmingly for Hillary. :( I was wrong.

I still don't really know how to react here.

Do I go on a tirade over what a disaster Trump is?
Do I begin my personal autopsy of the Democratic loss?
Do I just apathetically let all this flow over me and see what happens?
Do I panic?
...

Instead I just wrote this post as a form of therapy and trying to cope.

~fin~

You survived bush.... Maybe you'll survive Trump

He spoke JUST to them. No shit the jobs aren't coming back but he knew how frustrated these people were and he gave them false promises and scapegoats to blame.

Dunno where you're buying your games from but that absolutely did not happen.

I guess all those people saying they were voting trump no matter what really meant it. I just can't believe so many of them were so pig headed, so many of them women FFS😕. This is the first time I'm not proud to be an American.

Im trying to see any silver lining in this and I can't. Like. at all. Its ALL bad. We're fucked.

someone who isn't an establishment candidate became POTUS

the silver lining is that no matter how messed up the GOP or DNC gets, we aren't completely doomed

things that "will never happen" can actually happen by the will of the people. it ensures that there is always hope

I know that you are upset because your option was defeated, but don't blame me. I don't have a candidate, I am not American.
I am just objectively observing the events and pointing out the faults of the losing candidate.

Ding ding ding we have a winner. People vote in their self interests. To act like that's surprising is... Interesting to say the least. To act like all Trump supporters voted because they hate other races rather than because of their (debatably misguided - I wouldn't vote for the man) belief that he would help them more than Hillary is willfully ignorant.

If they are willing to vote for an unqualified con man who preaches hate and bigotry and racism and set all of that aside in the name of their personal finances (of which, realistically and with about 2 minutes of googling, anybody with a brain can see he won't actually do much to help)than they are no better than a racist themselves.

I get the discontent from that demographic, I really do, but if they have no recourse, in this age of information, but to misguidedly pour the blame for their problems on Obama, or the poors, or the immigrants, then at some point I no longer feel empathy for them.

I think I'm in between 3 & 4 right now.

  • [*]1. Denial and isolation
    [*]2. Anger
    [*]3. Bargaining
    [*]4. Depression
    [*]5. Acceptance

A Large chunk of the country voted on the economy and how they have been fucked over for decades. That is why States that are typically solid Democrat went Republican.

Trump spoke to those people who once were considered the middle class and are now considered poor and worse. Did he speak the truth? No I do not believe he did but he offered them something that Hillary outright said tough shit on.

People were shocked Michigan would go Republican because after all Obama did the auto bailout. Problem is the Auto bailout simply stopped more potential harm. It didn't solve the Hurting that has already been epidemic in Michigan.

I really look forward to reading the public pollsters explanation in the coming months.
11/8 predictions:
Wang=99% Clinton wins.
Fivethirtyeight=71% Clinton wins.

Silver is going to crow about how he was right about pricing in polling error and saying Trump had a real chance, especially in the Midwest.

I will admit it. I didn't think Trump had a chance. I thought that the minority turnout would reach new records this year and vote overwhelmingly for Hillary. :( I was wrong.

if she does that would make things interesting given what was posted earlier in the thread

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact

as michigan and penn would be enough of a swing to make it 272 vs 268.

though sadly those two don't have it officially in law.

All the banks that paid her hundreds of thousands for paid speeches in the hopes she would one day be president and return the favor. will she get less offers now?

Stannis isn't the best choice for character here. Ramsey? Roose bolton? (Though I guess that's Putin), Trump is basically Joffery.

Looks like it was actually down this year. And the protest 3rd party votes did it again.

I also though Trump will not have. Chance not because of the polls but because I refuse to believe that significant portion of American population has no good moral compass. Boy i was wrong.
