So is it fair to blame Colin Kaepernick for this ? I've been thinking long and hard these past few hours and I feel blame lands squarely on his shoulders.

Which sportswriter will have this hot take tomorrow? Place your bets!

As if 40+ percent of them didn't vote for Trump. It's not a generational thing. Hell, it's barely a gender thing. If you look at the demographics, it's primarily a racial thing. The vast majority (83 percent?) of Trump's support was from whites, as he only managed about 20 to 25 percent of the total minority vote, whereas Clinton got over 70.

This is the part where someone posts how making it about race is how Hillary lost.

The fact that his biggest base were maybe the only ethnic group he didn't make a point of saying hes going to "stick it to" as part of his campaign, surely has nothing to do with their apparent ability to look past his issues with certain demographics and focus on the real issues Americans face.

President Rohani:
" The election results will not make any changes to Iran Policies"
"There is no going back on Iranian Finance relations"

I worry a lot about the freedom of press, too. I know Trump said he wanted to 'open up' the libel laws. Really makes me worry about the likes of Colbert or Mahr or the Times or any newspaper. I don't really expect them to be wheeled off all gestapo like, but I wonder if there's going to be a very big limiting effect on all of them.

They did but the white rural vote cancelled out any advantage hilary had with minorities in states like FL.

I had no illusions that there wasn't a significant amount of racist whites in this country, but I never would've guessed in a million years that it would be enough to drown both a surge of minorities and non-racist whites (though that's probably simplifying it too much). But still.

You failed him, United States. You failed him.
As much as I admire him, his willingness to believe that his fellow man's better nature would always prevail has done him no favors (even more applicable when considering the fact that he appointed the likes of Comey himself).

You know how Drumpf won?

Hillary's deplorables comment. She poked the sleeping rurals and they all went cyber on her, themselves and everyone.

What is the historical spit from minorities, Reps vs Dems??

I'm not going to lie, I was 99.99999% certain she would win solely because of all the stuff I saw said and shared here. That and the general vibe of things coming from her more avid supporters. Everything pointed to Trump losing, and I bought the shooting down that occurred when Trump victories were shot down. I just figured... You know, these guys know more than I do in regards to politics. And I believed the entirety of the majority echo of GAF. (Though not that ANYONE could have expected him to win as much as he did)

I'm still flabbergasted. I can't imagine what it feels like for those who wore her logo so surely it would be hers for the taking.

I trash Gaf's ridiculous echo chamber more than most, but all the polls, analysts, pros and amateurs thought Clinton was more likely to win than Trump. It wasn't only GAF saying it.

FDR and the Kennedy's are revolting in their Graves. A good part of America deserves whatever happens to them, it's just a shame that minorities will get dragged.

I'm also pretty surprised how the FBI helped seal this election. If I were Obama I'd destroy Comey's career before leaving office.

In a very morbid and selfish way I want to see how Trump ruins the lives of his dear supporters and how long it will take for them to understand what they did to their country and the future of their children.

It's literally just like Brexit. If the people who thought Brexit would never actually happen hadn't voted for it it wouldn't have happened.

Hopefully 2016 is the year that make people realise voting what you believe actually fucking matters.
Erm wouldn't voting Johnson actually be what they believe?

I think this was probably the biggest misstep as well. You just can't say that. Cuts deep with people.

Well at this point I might get ready for climate change in the future. Seeing as how incapable this country just show me how unlikely it is that we will make any progress lowering C02 levels globally.

I'd much rather start looking for a new job than support him, but that's me. You're free to support whom ever you want, even if it's just because he's your boss.
? I'm not going to derail my career over this, nor my source of income which supports my family, be sensible. I'm not throwing in the towel like a lot of you seem to be.

Just to make it clear in here stump isnt stepping down as mod now like someone else said. The bet was if trump wins diablos gets a told you so tag. Stump was only going to let mod go if hillary died before election

I guess at this point it's just not worth fighting this myth about Brexit.

I already responded to you and said I was responding to your last sentence about not being an asshole to people that dont share the same point of view. Where did I twist what you said into you saying you were pro Trump? I was saying that people are allowed to be assholes to those that treat them as less than human. Considering Trump just won the election and that is what this topic is about that my response was relevant.

But who was treating whom as less than human?

The anti-Hillary folk weren't being assholes, but the Pro Hillary group were being COMPLETE assholes to those for somply not sharing the same opinion. Sorry, that's not on.

I begrudgingly voted Trump. If the Dems had given me a candidate I could have gotten behind I would have voted Dem. People loved jumping on me for my choice and calling me all kinds of names. Feeling a bit justified now. Still, really shitty that these were our choices.

I feel like Trump was just hit by those anti-Iran lobby groups, ones that claim Vyacheslav Danilenko magically helped them make Nukes 20 years ago.
Even Obama at one stage was saying this propaganda (International Atomic Energy Agency report in 2011).

Surely he will smarten up

He (and GAF) seriously underestimated the number of deplorables in this country. The fact that they are a majority and that their candidate was elected doesn't make them any less despicable. But they will get what they deserve... The poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer, this will become all the more true under Trump.

There's a 100k difference in the popular vote now. Half of Washington hasn't reported in. 16% of California.

Yep. Hillary won the popular vote. The majority of the country voted against Trump and now we get him and a Congress that will give him a blank check.

Hillary lost because over 7 million Democrats did not come out to vote for her. Obama won with nearly 66 million votes. As it stands right now Hillary has 58.5 million. EVen Trump is about 2 million behind what Romney had in 2012.

I don't get the logic. You wanted to vote Democrat. But the candidate wasn't that good. So you pull a complete 180 and go for someone the exact opposite of what you want?

CNN reporting that Obama called Trump to congratulate him.

God, I can only imagine what was going through his head during that conversation.

Obama thought like many of us, where reason is really what we work with.

He picked the wrong fucking country to be a part of.

That counts just as much as one team winning the yardage and time of possession, but losing the game on two fumbles and a pick six.
