Where are the cries of rigged election and voter fraud?
The Left needs their own Trump to keep up the chatter about his Tax return, birth certificate style.
I am sitting here asking you to expand on your thought in a respectful manner and your response is "no thanks lol" dude? Did you even read my post? I said most, NOT all Trump supporters could be categorized as bigots one way or another. You don't have to go around lynching people or burning mosques to be a bigot. It can be much more subtle. No thanks. It's obviously more complex than "you voted for Trump, you're a bigot".
If you can't see that I'm not going to exhaust myself arguing the point.
Liberal politicians around the world quickly need to come up with a message that resonates with the victims of globalisation. Both Trump and the Brexit brigade were able to fuse nostalgia, xenophobia and jingoism in a way that excited people who felt left behind by the modern world and yearned for the "glory days".
We are seeing former industrial heartlands in the UK and US turning to extreme-right candidates because they don't feel like anyone else gives a shit about them. Of course they are deluding themselves but it's damning that nobody has found an argument that works against it. What can candidates like Hillary Clinton say to people who have seen their livelihoods destroyed by the demise of traditional domestic industry? How can she appeal to those who are irritated by social progressivism? Just what can she offer them that will improve their lives? All she could do was call these people deplorable and say their jobs were never coming back, but the truth hurts, and people aren't going to vote for someone that hurls sand in their eyes and tells them to get with the times.
I mean, you literally are giving zero substance to your point. The entire reason we are asking you to explain is because we obviously don't see the point, otherwise we wouldn't be asking you to explain.
I don't get why you're not a bigot if you vote for Trump.
No, you don't need a universal income. That will play into the other side even more. "Look at those people stealing our tax money!".The obvious answer would be to offer education and universal minimum income. But Trump voters would not want that. It is going to be interesting/scary to see what red meat Trump throws to his supporters when it becomes apparent that he is not able to reverse or even slow down globalization/automation.
You guys got it too?! Imma see if I can grab some today in caliI guess the only bright side is that Nevada is basically a blue state now.
And we got legal weed!
I'll need it
A climate change denying government in the world's most important country when it comes to fighting global warming? Yeah this will almost definitely negatively affect billions of people. That's even ignoring that the guy questions why the US isn't using their nuclear weapons and how he wants to deport countless millions of people and rip apart free trade agreements.whaaa??? billions??? dude, it's all good, I don't see how that would happen, ya'll should be happy in all seriousness, maybe with him being a little more nationalistic, maybe he can get the cia to stop some of this crazy nation building, ala' isis, etc...
I can just imagine the atmosphere in the room where he has to debrief Trump on stuffAmerica made someone president who doesn't believe Barack Obama is American.
Just woke up and clocked in but decided to post on GAF.
I'm inspired right now. I'm an artist so what I do is music and I have an idea of what I need to do, I'm thoroughly inspired to write some new songs, do some new music just overall something hit me. We're living in hard times and all I can do is keep moving forward. I can't let this stop me from protecting my family and friends. I can't let this stop me from living my life. I'm a black Southern man in the South, I have it hard enough as it but I can make a difference, I can make change and I can do what I can to support those I love. I can make a way. Regardless who our president is, I refuse to be stopped. As far as I'm concerned, I gotta do what I gotta do so that involves living life to the fullest.
I hope everyone is safe and continues to be safe. We can't give up. We have an obligation to uphold to our loved ones to keep going. Let's do it together.
So what happened? People on here told me Hilary had this locked down and no need to worry etc. Where did it go wrong? Obviously she under performed significantly however was this a hijacked vote from the white supremacist society "taking" America back, or people believing Trump can fix the economy because he is a "business man"
I mean, you literally are giving zero substance to your point. The entire reason we are asking you to explain is because we obviously don't see the point, otherwise we wouldn't be asking you to explain.
I don't get why you're not a bigot if you vote for Trump.
Still feels absolutely surreal. A reality tv star is the next president
I see we're still on this "we need to empathize with the Trump voters" shit.
Nah.
I'm good.
Fuck them.
No thanks. It's obviously more complex than "you voted for Trump, you're a bigot".
If you can't see that I'm not going to exhaust myself arguing the point.
Where are the cries of rigged election and voter fraud?
Welcome to how every Remain voter has felt since the 24th June.I'm just so...ashamed. I can't be proud of a United States that fully embraced xenophobia, racism and sexism so fully in a president-elect.

I think "If you voted for Trump, you enabled bigotry" is accurate. People who voted for Trump decided they were ok with racism and sexism if they got what they want.
I do agree though, the situation is a lot more complex and needs to be treated as such. The only way to come back from this is to understand the underlying reasons for a Trump vote and counter it with an improved candidate and campaign.
Trump got 20% of the minority vote and won. Not to mention he didn't get the popular vote. What do you think happened?
how does anyone know what is going to happen? Obama made a bunch of claims that he never fulfilled.
This is deflecting. The vast majority of bigots aren't voting Clinton. Not saying liberals are immune from bigotry, just that it thrives on the right and is part of their national platform.you can be a bigot and vote for Hillary as well, this race stuff has to stop, maybe you think that is why Trump won? people just tired of the status quo, even 12 % and 29 % of black and hispanic went to Trump are you saying they are bigots?
What does pardoning Clinton for anything do? She's not the previous president, nor is she running again. One thing I hope to see happen (and derail any potential future witch trials in Congress) would be for President Obama to formerly pardon Hillary Clinton for any potential crimes committed while Secretary of State in the same way that Ford pardoned Nixon.
I realize this would be controversial and potentially red meat for this newly activated right leaning base of the the electorate. However, if anything done while SoS was off the table, the FBI and the Congress would have nothing pertinent left to investigate. In the short term Obama's popularity would take a hit, but, really what does he care. He is out the door.

Many people disagreed with Hilary and her camp's policies, many people saw the options in front of them as nothing but a coin flip between two terrible sets of ideals and decided to protest by attempting to shake the system, and so on...
Not everyone who voted Trump agrees with his personal ideals, and not every vote for Trump was a vote to support a bigoted view.
Did these people make intelligent decisions? Who knows, time will tell. There is a possibility that Trump winning will have a positive effect on the political system long-term, and perhaps many saw this as an opportunity.
Again, it's far more complex than you seem to think it is.
Still feels absolutely surreal. A reality tv star is the next president
At least in 2000 it was more understandable. HIllary barely lost a whole bunch of states and got fucked in the Electoral College
I can just imagine the atmosphere in the room where he has to debrief Trump on stuff

America made someone president who doesn't believe Barack Obama is American.
Based on her winning the popular vote I say the average American is fine. A lot of the old racist white people will die out eventually and with that progress will take place. Let them take the day but eventually decency will win out. It just takes time. You're not wrong at all. Who knew demonizing Trump supporters (with their thin skin) actually emboldened them to go out and vote.
We as minorities lose either way: stay quiet or stand up for ourselves.
America showed its true colors last night, and I wrongly assumed the average American was better than this.
Perhaps because he wasn't allowed to fulfil many of them?how does anyone know what is going to happen? Obama made a bunch of claims that he never fulfilled.
I mean, you literally are giving zero substance to your point. The entire reason we are asking you to explain is because we obviously don't see the point, otherwise we wouldn't be asking you to explain.

Obama had less power than Trump will have. Obama would have done way more if he wasn't fighting an uphill battle on literally everything.how does anyone know what is going to happen? Obama made a bunch of claims that he never fulfilled.
Also a climate change denier.
And a VP who believes in torturing the gay out of children, and punishing women for having miscarriages or abortions.
What does pardoning Clinton for anything do? She's not the previous president, nor is she running again.
