  • "Repeal Obamacare."
  • "Get rid of gun-free zones [in] schools" and "military bases"
  • "Begin swiftly removing illegal immigrants from this country."

Is that enough for Day 1?

The hilarious thing about trump's policies on getting rid of the EPA is he's doing it to lower fossil fuel costs... Which are at such an all time low that oil companies are struggling to break even. Which will in turn cause these companies to struggle even more.
 
I found out something troubling. All the women I know who voted for Trump are saying what finally swayed them was the '9 month abortion' bullshit.

I hold the media to the fire for that. They didn't spend anytime debunking the most nonsensical because they assumed everyone would know it was completely horse shit. They were wrong.

Why does that make him nice? During the debates he seemed like the rudest little POS ever, a seriously poor pick for Clinton. I'm sure he's tearing up thinking how close he was to such a powerful possition and lost to the likes of Trump.

Blame Clinton for having the worst possible debate answer for that very question. That is 100% on her and no one else.


Everyone at my work is somber over this whole thing, my self included. Its like watching your team go from a 99% change of winnign to blowing a 20+ point lead in the last 2 minutes of a game, then losing (as a Packer fan I've grown use to this feeling)
 
I am disgusted with the people who spit in the face of minorities, LGBTQ, women's rights and generally moving forward as a country. What pathetic human beings.

As a teacher, I'm considering going to code school. Librarians will probably be on the chopping block soon along with art and music. We'll just continue to let kids get dumber so they keep voting for Trump-a-likes.
 
Tin foil hat here but don't you think the government security agencies and special interests probably have so much dirt on Trump that they could basically blackmail him into doing what they want?

I actually believe not voting is worse than voting third party. So many people skipped the polls this election. We are not just voting for president. There is an entire government to elect.

This midterm is going to be horrid if people don't come to terms with the lack of voting and just skip everything out of lack of interest because their presidential candidate was not elected.

I won't disagree with that, but he was definitely qualified. And Hillary had every reason in the world to think she didn't need a VP boost against Trump considering the polls.

It's just sad seeing the first black president having to act with grace towards a racist fuck that antagonized him for years and has the support of the kkk.
 
Last night suggests a number of things.


  1. The idea of American exceptionalism is total BS & it's undeniable if it wasn't already
  2. Our elites and institutions have completely and utterly failed. No matter how much these people try to spin away criticism on the recovery, trade since the 80s, foreign policy, inequality, etc. A complete disaster over decades resulting from bad decisions that prioritized the wrong things and the wrong people again and again.
  3. The progress people claimed on social issues didn't reflect the reality that the balance of power was hanging by a thread. Tens of millions of citizens disagree completely and always have stood in the way.
  4. And to folks that thought the circumstances that lead to folks like Donald Trump & Bernie Sanders was overblown or wrong. Guess what? The establishment and people who repeatedly justified the status quo are going to pay a price and didn't prevail. America wasn't great already. Let's face the truth. The system is rigged and fundamentally broken. Now we can choose to sink or swim.

Just a thought, could Obama (by some miracle) still appoint a Supreme Court Justice before he's out of office? It's pretty baffling he hasn't already, but maybe he can salvage something here.

SCOTUS has been majority Republican appointees since 1971.

EDIT: Though that's not necessarily telling since the ideological bent of the justices doesn't always line up with the nominating administration. Still, you're looking at a good 40+ years of a conservative majority on the Court that will continue.

You don't get it. He nominated a justice. Congress refused to vote on it. Now they have more incentive not to vote on it.

How is it rigged if your chosen candidate (looking at your avatar) got in? How are the establishment and the elites "paying a price" when the GOP and a billionaire practically have complete and utter power? This post makes no sense.
 
The western democracies by and large has been rejecting capitalist trends with the rise of far left and right parties across all the world.

The U.S. unfortunately chosen the facist right as their face for the coming years. Next world conflict, we're not going to be the good guys.

One of the underlying problems therein is that the media members have bias of their own.

Anderson Cooper definitely has his own bias, but I very highly doubt he would have asked about 9-month 'partial birth' abortions.

Samantha Bee, for example, can't repudiate that on her own.
