Well, I mean, part of the problem here is that I think Clinton actually preferred this though. The strategy for her was very much one of making the case that Trump wasn't fit to serve and then watching him trip over himself time and time again. And based on polling data, at least for most of October (notably after the Access Hollywood tape), it seemed like a brilliant strategy. Really, neither candidate did particularly well this entire election being in the spotlight and highlighting their own strengths.
That could be it. I just wonder what the internal data was showing that Clinton's team had to play run the clock strategy at moments and to try and run up the EV score. Hindsight obviously 20/20 but you would think they would have had good data considering the team they had was the Obama team and others. I wish there was some flags thrown up to prevent the result today but alas we cannot go back.
Hopefully we learn from it.
