Remember when we said Republicans would also oppose the Donald? How likely is that new? The all-out GOP civil war never followed through as viciously as expected, what percentage of congressman and senators can we expect to oppose him?

Trump's pretty unpredictable, so who knows what he'll actually propose... but my guess is the GOP will move to enact most of his agenda and they'll do so very quickly. The only thing I really see being a problem for Trump is his infrastructure plans (which is something I'd actually love to see pass in some form), but I'm sure some sort of deal will be worked out that somehow ends with a trillion dollar package....and tax cuts for the rich to, uh, pay for it I guess...voodoo economics?!?

Good thing you guys elected a republican senate to put a check on... Trump. :(

Vote midterms, people.

Probably none. I think they were almost as blindsided as we were. Paul Ryan literally wouldn't say or write his name, and now he's a bootlicker.

The republicans have what, 51 seats in Congress? There only needs to be one. There has to be one not-asshole among them, right? Right?

I heard somewhere though that the seats up for re-election in the midterms are still strongly republican. So you will have a full 4 years of this shit show. :(

It's going to be extremely difficult for the Senate to flip in two years, if not impossible (23 Democratic seats are up for grabs vs. 8 Republican seats), but there's always a chance for a miracle in the House.

I just googled his name to see where he is now and ha, look at him, in 2015 he ended up as the chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works?!

EXCUSE ME? Fuck. Fuuuuck. These crazies control everything now.

He was from Oklahoma when oil rigging and waste-water disposal damaged our land so badly that Oklahoma is now the earthquake capital of the world.

Our state government refused to hear any scientists or look at any data or studies because it would impact jobs in the oil industry here.

Environmentalists now say the damage is beyond repair for the foreseeable future.

Yeah...

but I'm old and weak

As amusing as that would be at first, that's really fucking dangerous. Trump is a dumbass. Pence is more fucked up than Bush ever was
It was supposed to be amusing.

Other than being one effing offensive and sleazy human being that has spouted truly dangerous foreign policy, from a social policy standpoint.... He really hasn't said too much.

Did anyone notice that Trump barely seemed happy when holding his winning speech? In fact he seemed quite troubled. So did Melania. The atmosphere was quite weird.

I have this thought in my mind that has been bothering me for awhile now. A year ago i saw some post saying that Donald Trump actually doesnt want to become president, that this is for media attention.

Now that i saw the reaction of trump and his family, I think he seriously is very nervous about becoming the actual president of the united states.

I think after he hears all of the security briefings and top secret stuff that is going on in the world that he will realize that he is actually WAY under qualified for this and not accept. This is what I am hoping.

There wouldn't have been any Wikileaks about Bernie. Bernie doesn't run a fake charity which is really just a personal bank account for donations from Saudi Arabia, China, wall Street, Russia, etc

Should have nominated Bernie. Hillary's 'deny it till you die' attitude ruined her campaign. If she had been honest about the Wikileaks material from the beginning she would have had a better chance of flipping the narrative.

It turns out Americans do care about Wikileaks.

I said elsewhere that we should consider how the consequences of Obama's harsh anti-whistleblower stance may have influenced things in a way that's anti-Clinton, pro-Trump, pro-Russia. How does wikileaks change if Assange isn't depending on favors from America's rivals to stay alive?

Sort of like someone who lies on their resume to get a good job, then on the first day realizes that the expectations for them are so far beyond their comprehension and skill level?

... We'll see, I guess. Would be very interesting to see a president resign of their own volition without any overhanging scandals.

Though "President Pence" is still quite unpalatable.

I hear presidents come out of the national security briefings with stone faced looks. They get to know how close the US was to being attacked/nuked, ect. Also any other top secret goings on in the world. I am praying this is enough that he realizes that he can not do this and resign.

So I see Trump is going to be tweeting his nonsense non-stop while he's president.

Maybe he can get into twitter fights with world leaders. Does Putin have a twitter? He and Trump could gang up on everyone else.

"Professional protesters", huh?

My earlier guess was correct. Trump and his followers are going to shift their conspiracy theory over to anybody who protests or criticizes him while he's in office. No legitimate objections will be allowed - everything will be fakes, paid thugs, professional actors pretending to be protesters.

Prepare for all the Trump-inspired hate crimes to be labeled actors too. I mean people already deny the veracity of school shootings.

Donald Trump is President of the United States of America.

...

...

I still don't believe it. This has to be an elaborate joke.

No, the joke was the horseshit campaign Hillary ran fully expecting Trump to blow it and her victory to be etched in stone by fate itself. Trump and the GOP in general coming out of left field and sucker punching them back into reality is the punchline.

GOP wouldn't impeach him. He could literally post a picture of a dead hooker in the white house, and he would be fine.

if something were bad enough I absolutely think the GOP would turn on him, but it would have to be something super egregious that even a good chunk of his loyal fanatics would be calling for it. Pussy-gate game close during the election. He's probably seen as an expendable figurehead now to the GOP establishment. He did his job, was the face of their party and got them the power.

Is it ok to hope for an assassination of him? He's going to cause the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people through his actions. I've had several people have this sentiment that it would ok if it happened in real life.

Donald stepping down / dying would be even worse, the VP believes in gay conversion therapy among other abhorrent things, Donald Trump, as hard as it is to believe, not the worst possible Republican candidate. Plus the GOP control every branch of the government, which is the real issue, and Donald Trump being assassinated wouldn't do shit except make people hate us "liberal cry babies" more

Its not okay. His crazy crowd will love that shit.
