Day 16 without a video card. EVGA is taking a long time to send out my replacement 1070. I called last week and they said sorry and bumped me up to three day shipping, then said they hoped to get it shipped out early this week. I'm doing some traveling for the holidays and then FF XV is out after that so I guess I'm not playing PC games this month.
Yeah, Amazon sells Steam keys for Far Cry 3, AssCreed 3 and Black Flag. After Black Flag, Ubi stopped offering Steam keys for its Uplay games, with the quasi-exception of the AssCreed Unity Season Pass reimbursement program (if you bought the Steam version, you were given a Steam key for whichever title you selected).
Have you done an upgrade in the interim 5 years?

Eh, different strokes. The pop and electronic music in your games is heavily produced and controller, whereas rock and related genres, especially the blues, are less concerned with precise timing and more with the groove.

Yeah, I didn't buy it. I had all of the dlc already so the special edition was unlocked for me.
I feel like opinions on rhythm games are always gonna devolve into genre wars, not everyone likes the same stuff I guess is all I can say.
Believe the person is talking about hardware wise.

Nah, MGS5 is almost an entirely different series honestly. You don't need to play 2, 3, or PW beforehand.
Hell, you're just better off skipping Peace Walker. It's not that great.

Hm, that is surprising. I played the first MGS in 2000 and then ten years later MGS4 and it felt like I was missing on a lot of lore.

The story is bad compared to the earlier games. But I really did like the tone and atmosphere it had though.
Kojima basically did with MGS the same thing Lucas did with Star Wars. Just a bit different in terms of the numbers.

Not playing 2 will make you miss out on a lot of the important things when it comes to the Original trilogy. It pretty much injected all the important things and characters for that trilogy. There is also 2 more older games from the 8 bit era in between the trilogies. Both are very important and connect MGSV and MGS1. All in all every game is a must play if you truly want to appreciate the saga. Hopefully we get them all on Steam one day.

In a way the Pro is kind of a good thing for the industry. Console gamers are gonna learn the hard way on how much horse power you truly need to run demanding games at 4k and/or locked 60fps. Its like a wake up call to all those people who always complain on why they don't get certain things in those DF threads.
The best thing both MS and Sony can do going forward is do a complete hands off approach. Don't mandate any dumb rules and requirements. Just let developers do whatever they want with the hardware. Otherwise its gonna continue being a clusterfuck of outrage and disappointment.

Yeah I agree, the developers should give more options to the player, and not just mandate a 1800p resolution, they're trying to be a PC without actually leveraging any of the great things about a PC, wasted potential.

The reason is always "lazy devs".
In my mind PS4 Pro is 1080p machine that should be here from the start instead of PS4. But Sony cut the corners even with Pro. CPU is bottleneck that is why there are no too many 60FPS updates and in best case framereate is unlocked.

OK... so... what is the point of Dangerous Golf? You tee off in a random direction, then 'activate' the ball, bounce around and destroy stuff then just automatically putt the ball in? Is it just a sandbox destruction simulator?

eh, from the gameplay videos I've seen Dangerous Golf requires much less skill than Burnout Crash Mode. There are several gameplay mechanics that allow you to always do something "awesome," which leads to predictability and repetitiveness.
I'm still debating whether or not to get the Humble Bundle. I want to support Three Fields Entertainment so that they can make the Burnout spiritual successor that they've been promising, but at the same time Dangerous Golf is kinda meh. It's certainly pretty, though.

It's starting to make a bit more sense now. The unskippable tutorial is poor and the controls are not exactly intuitive, but there is fun to be had. Now if I could drive cars through the levels at high speed on ultra slow-mo, i'd be in.
More worryingly, the leaderboards are completely empty past the first level. Might be a bug or a sign everyone gave up at that point.
