Because that's how I felt about X/Y and so far everything tells me that regardless of all other things, I'll still feel like SuMo progressed the franchise.

If that kind of stuff doesn't bother you probably no. Personally I think X/Y were very good especially in the online feature areas so we probably have different priorities in what we like.

Definitely think an Alola form only run is going to happen at some point. Makes it easier to focus on the other new pokemon when assembling a team.

Although getting a Caterpie up to 9 for Bug Bite and then evolving it twice has been very nice early game.

The choices for putting together a team seem very good in this game. I already want to try and use like 5 or 6 pokemon and it is only route 1!

Just beat my first trial. Man, this is the kind of thing I've been wishing they'd do for years. Definitely more challenging than the garbage gym leader teams from XY.

Took me 2 tries to actually beat it, though I might be making it harder on myself than necessary as so far I'm still riding solo Litten. Or rather, I was solo Litten, but after that victory I've upgraded to solo Torracat. Excited for the rest of the trials.
