iOS 10 is a total disgrace

On fresh install iPhone 7+ it's been a nightmare.

This is the first and only time I've had iOS crash the phone app, and it happens weekly if not more. Multiple hard freezes, keyboards somehow got even more crashy- which alone is amazing.

A few weeks ago I lost patience and finally did another clean install, same shit.

This is the first time my iPhone has even been equal to or worse in reliability when compared to my work Android (currently an S7).

I've been an iPhone user since I dropped $600 bucks on the original in 2007, and this is by far the most buggy release I've experienced. Even the point updates haven't seemed to do shit. Fucking annoying.

iOS 9 almost bricked my phone. I had to bring it to the Apple Store. They have lost their edge for sure, other phones are catching up and in computers they're already being outclassed.

I agree OP, I rarely see crashes but a lot of apps are freezing and hanging on me fairly constantly.

The worst thing about iOS 10 for me, by far, is how shitty it's made the finger print sensor. Before iOS10, the phone would unlock right as I put my finger on the home button. After iOS 10? I cover the entire home button multiple times and it can't detect my finger print, so I end up having to put in my pin.

I have a bug on my lock screen. It's always on the music playback interface, even when I haven't been listening to anything, so the album artwork is blank and I can't see my notifications.

I also hate swiping right to see widgets, just put them on the lock screen.

I have had that issue also with the music playback interface on the lock screen.

? That still works for me.
Really? That speed working for me on day 1 of iOS 10. I still get the little transparent podcast icon in the lower left corner of the lock screen, but it used to actually show the last episode I was listening to stop I could just plug in my earbuds, hit play from lock, and go.

(I'm on a 5S if that matters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Any one else on a 5s? I know I'm probably going to get forced into updating eventually (or just get tired of dismissing the update request every night) and I want to know what to be prepared for .

Yeah my 6S will randomly reboot all the time, and I've been having terrible battery problems. Wake up at 7:00 with the phone at 100%, by the time I get to work at 8:30 it's at 50%. All I do is use Tunein for about 15 minutes while I get ready, and then use Apple Maps while driving.

My phone dies once it hits 15%. That's really the only QC problem I've had.

I've had that happen a couple of times too, but between 20-30% every time. Super annoying. It turned back on after a hard reset (hold down home and power button), but shut itself off again after about 10 seconds, even though the battery said something like 33%.

iOS 10 has been performing phenomenally on my 7 since I got it on launch. Not a single crash or freeze, snappy 100% of the time with excellent battery life to boot. Safari has been a little buggy with bookmarks on occasion but that's the extent of the software issues I've come across so far. Bar the music app I'm really happy with 10.

I have it on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5 and it's mostly fine for me. My only issue is that screen rotate would get stuck on the iPad.

I recommended to two colleagues at the small business that I work for that they shouldn't upgrade their iPhones (6 and 6s)unless there was something they wanted in the new iOS. They only get used as phones and email so security is a low concern over usability.

Of course they both ignored me and upgraded and have been whinging to me about changes.

Am I the only one who's phone dies randomly in some specific apps when the battery is below 35%? Snapchat will cause my phone to die and will not come back to life until plugged in, same thing will happen in Soundcloud and to some extent the YouTube app. Then sometimes my phone will drain to 1% battery and stay there for like an hour or two until it finally dies.

6S with iOS 10, this phone OS is garbage. Also why the fuck is swipe to unlock removed? I'm gonna murder my home button with all the clicks just to keep unlocking it.

I have no stability problems or crashes on a 6S Plus.

My only issue is -- how do I stop Auto-Correct from auto-correcting?

i've had multiple freezes and crashing. the music apps are also terrible and somehow carplay integration is worse. i had to restore my phone last week because the screen froze while installing an app and i couldn't power the phone on.

I just checked and copying a singular line in a text doesn't work in iOS 9... In fact, I don't remember that ever being possible.

Yes! YouTube totally does this to me. I thought I had a bad battery but I got it tested by Apple the other day and it's fine. Gah.

I first noticed the 35% -> 1% thing with Discord running in the background on my iPhone 6s. It was rather inconvenient because the one time instant shutoff happened I was waiting for an Uber to do the pick up thing.

At first I assumed that it might be a dead battery cell but my phone's been charging normally. Maybe it is an iOS 10 problem?

EDIT: And what's REALLY weird is that I don't get this battery death problem on my other iPhone 6s that has YouTube and Pokemon Go running all the darn time.
yes I have two iphone 6ses multitasking ftw

The battery percentage dropping quick to dead thing is probably a battery problem. I had that back in the day on my iPhone 5 in like
iOS 7. Replaced the iPhone through apple and everything was back to normal

iOS 10 has been great for me. Was on a 6 and now on a 7 and everything works great. Maybe there are some auto correct issues though just cuz I thought I noticed more incorrect sentences and shit that I have to correct later

Autocorrect is dead for me in Safari but fine elsewhere.

They realized that the alphabetical shortcut menu in the Music app was too hard to use because it was too close to the edge of the screen so they moved it inwards which is good but they didn't fix the exact same issue in the Contacts app.

I have to agree that Apple's attention to details has waned considerably since Jobs left.

Its not just iOS, the entire Apple ecosystem is bloated and frustrating to use.

It is literally only good for showing off features at a keynote and saying 'oh cool' but in practice doesn't work nearly as well because its very inflexible.

One example - to get photos onto your mac, you have to use iPhoto to sync the photos, but to get photos on to your iPhone you need to use iTunes. It's also really silly to have a Mac with a 128gb SSD and an iPhone with 128gb storage, especially if you just want to sync the two together.

It's trash. The battery indicator is completely unreliable now. I've tried calibrating my battery to no avail. Anytime below 20% it'll randomly shut off. Not to mention the battery drain is insane.

I am worried about this as well. I guess that's why they made the 7 have a haptic home button.

iOS 10 broke the ability for my iPod 6 and iPad mini 4 to maintain a blutooth connection indefinitely, first iOS to have a major problem like that for me. None of the updates have fixed it.

Never have problems on my iPad. Only occasionally had any on my iPhone before I shattered its screen. Seems good to me? Now the moto I'm using atm, that thing is... ehhhh, not so solid.

It's pretty bad.

I'm not sure if I'm crazy, but it's as if there are a number of actions where I have to do 4 swipes/clicks just to get to, whereas it was maybe one or two before. Things just seem to be more hidden and that doesn't make any sense at all. The music player is also just terrible.

The queue in the music app is broken. Sometimes it just erases by itself, or fails to add into the queue, or adds more songs than it should.

I think the biggest slight against iOS 10 is the design inconsistency. It really doesn't look like the same OS across the board anymore.

I have a 128Gb 7 with 10

It will just randomly freeze. Takes no input at all and the other day didnt even respond to me trying to turn it off.

Some of the interface changes are inconsistent at best.

Not their best effort.

What's bad about the new alarm app? I'm on iOS 8 and use alarms constantly. Don't want to get a phone running iOS 10 if it's that bad.

Oh and how about those "classic favorites" like:

- Opening the Music app to a completely solid white screen
- Having all the tab previews in Safari be completely wrong, showing what you were looking at five hours ago
- Totally inaccurate highlighting completely misaligned with the text itself

I've had these bugs, annoying. But aside from that, it's a great update IMO. The Home app is awesome.

What version of 10 are you running? The biggest interface freezes on a 7 were fixed in 10.1. I had a couple as well
