Apple is reportedly planning a design overhaul for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS

Do you think Apple are moving towards merging MacOS and iPadOS?

These WWDCs have been so boring the last five years or so.

They should just walk out and say "yeah, the smartphone is basically perfect at this point, whether you're on apple or android. Anyway, here's a new theme."

What the fuck are you talking about? This was about software, not hardware. And they showed a TON of improvements.

Apple has become a parody of itself.

The only worthwhile thing is the shared cinema screen on Vision OS, that's going to be awesome on flights (for all the three couples in the world who both have Vision Pros)

TBH I think at this point with technological advancements moving so slow the best thing we can do is get refined software to take advantage of it. Where do you even go from here lol

I can't understand why my parents still love Apple, because they are like shadows of what they was.

I guess because Microsoft OS is kinda trash.

They might've pushed for that liquid glass aesthetic too hard, this looks kinda ass.

Yeah. I was expecting Windows 7 aero, but this is kinda , IDK, raytracing glasses to those stupid buttons? Why?

This probably will consume some battery and performance thats for sure.

Car Play Ultra takes over your cars AC controls and other features in the car. I do not want to plug in my phone to control the AC or the radio. Terrible ideas.

Incremental improvements, but we never see anything mind-blowing or revolutionary anymore. It's always small tweaks, or min-maxing QoL stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all of that. But most of the recent WWDCs have had the "could've been an email" energy.

the mobile OS were pretty much figured out 7-8 years ago. Like iOS 12. Android and iOS. Same with how Windows 7 was the optimal desktop OS. Since then it's just been teams of thousands of people trying to find a reason to exist.

Indeed, they've matured just as desktop interfaces did decades ago.

VR interfaces are the frontier now.

Liquid glass? More like liquid ASS.

"Apple Intelligence" is the biggest disappointment over time... Google, Facebook, and everyone else (*except Amazon, but that's a trash company) have all pushed forward with high level foundational language and image models of their own, but Apple feels archaic and lost. And no one cares about stupid emojis -- either make Siri actually as smoothly conversant as ChatGPT voice mode or just give up.
