Apple is reportedly planning a design overhaul for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS

Do you think Apple are moving towards merging MacOS and iPadOS?

People are forgetting that this is an early beta

That text will likely be black in the final version

My thoughts exactly, but how could they've missed this, if you're showing something for the 1st time you have to make sure it's as tight and presentable as possible, especially if you're a trillion dollar company.

The only people I have heard who like this are the pathetic Apple shills like Daring Fireball.

They've been working on this for a long time though, you're telling me that the highly paid designers didn't notice this stuff?

I'm thinking they noticed but no one said anything.
I see that giant circle building with all those employees and I don't think anything is actually being worked on. Just people sitting at desks doom scrolling youtube shorts.

The more I see about the liquid glass design, the worse it gets.

Overdesigned mess.

I don't understand how it even got this far without someone intervening. Look at this, wtf is this man:

Without proper feedback, thats what you get.

Everything is fine until gets into consumers hand.

I hope this is not another 'toxic positivity' case because of all companies I wouldn't expect this from Apple.

its gonna be fine apple isnt going to publish software that makes everyone go cross eyed i think this is just overreaction to the beta

The public outcry about the illegibility of Liquid Glass is exactly what's needed to make Apple implement drastic changes to fix all of their mistakes. If people kept quiet because this is is just a beta, we'd get a final product with nothing fixed.

Yeah, I don't fall into the beta excuse.

There are tests before entering in the beta phase. Someone really drops the ball there.

I wish they'd have gone further and used "oil" as the concept instead of water.

Remember these oil & water toys that showed the oil droplet of various colors moving through water in a separated way?

Make the visual layers / controls into these opaque, colorful droplets and it would be fun + highly contrastive.

Will reserve judgement until it's in my hands. Any user interface can be screenshotted and cherry-picked to look positively awful under the correct circumstances.

Nothing stops the Apple innovation train

This idea was so stupid, I'm honestly shocked it made it past the initial concept phase. And to think it actually made its way all the way to WWDC is ridiculous. Readability and ease of use should be the number one goal for any user interface. What a bunch of amateurs.

Adding more frost is going back to the current IOS if i am not mistaken. So the net result is no difference and not even a fresh coat of paint

Just love the idea that they spent millions on the liquid glass only to be completely blindsided by the super poor usability.

How was this not the first thing they noticed?

They were too busy intricately machining and playing with all this stuff in their lab

Not that Apple hasn't made mistakes in the past, but I'm actually surprised and dismayed at how bad this fuckup is, especially when google of all companies put out a very well thought out and consistent design language. This sort of haphazard shit is what you saw in early Android.
