Comic sales influence the greenlighting of other comics, though. If they continuously see that even big events won't make Inhumans comics sell, they might relegate them to a more minor role in the future. Possibly the far future, but nevertheless.

You guys are missing the point. If they did in a good way where Superman or Cyclops died for a noble cause and it doesn't diminish their character then I would happily go through with it.

Instead Superman died to fucking cancer and left buried as the old Superman just took over like it was nothing. Same for Cyclops who people revile and hate.

I'm sure old Superman and new Cyclops will fit into the universe with great storylines but the fact that 52 Superman and old Cyclops died like they did does not bring me much hope for their future treatment.

New 52 Superman wasn't really Superman though, the real Superman came back in Rebirth,

We don't know yet but there is confusion in the DC comics right now. Superdad IS pre-flashpoint Superman and the events of Rebirth have given us reason to believe that besides New 52 Superman (because Superdad is pre-flashpoint Superman), the other New 52 characters are the same characters from pre-flashpoint.
 
inb4 Cyclops never really existed he was just a figment of everyone's imagination implanted by Charles Xavier who is still alive.

I haven't read X-Men regularly for over a decade, but as someone who did read the X-books religiously from 1979 through that point in the mid-to-late '90s when Scott Lobdell ruined everything, it still hurts to see them jobbing to the fucking Inhumans.
 
The way he died doesn't bother me, what bothers me is that for the past year, everyone has been referring to Summers as some kind of psycho terrorist who did the worst shit imaginable.

All he did was disable a Terrigen cloud? Seriously?
 
Those reaction faces work pretty well for the reveal.

It would be exhausting to live in the world of superhero comics. Constant twist whiplash.

In this final issue of the Death of X flashback mini-series, Scott and his team of Magick, Magneto, Emma Frost, Sunfire, and the Cuckoos succeed in transmuting one of the Terrigen clouds into harmless vapor with the help of Alchemy, whom Scott recruited last issue.

However, the transmutation comes with a price – Alchemy dies of M-Pox minutes after touching the cloud. Afterwards, Scott confronts Medusa and Black Bolt, who are furious at the loss of the Terrigen Mists – though another cloud still remains.

Transmuting a Terrigen cloud hardly seems like the kind of thing that leaves a lifelong hero remembered as a villain and terrorist.

So Cyclops was right and the Inhumans are the bad guys.

Marvel keeps telling us the world hates Cyclops, but always neglects to actually make him do anything wrong to earn that mantle.
 
Well maybe if t was actually cyclops instead of a psychic projection, he wouldn't get one shotted.

Oh yeah.

But like in this the Inhumans have no moral standing.

And yet everyone is all boo hiss Cyclops.

Kind of hope its some sort of fake out and in a few months time all the mutants on the various teams get a psychic code word from Emma and they just shank their Inhuman team mates.
