Street Fighter V Holiday Content Trailer: New Costumes

Street Fighter turned into Dead or Alive so gradually I didn't even notice.

Damn these are ugly. They remembered to make them Xmas themed but completely forget to make them cool and something people would prefer to wear instead of other costumes.
And then the audacity to charge for such ugly things on top of it. Sheesh.
 
Ken's costume makes him look like he's at a holiday bachelorette party. Ryu's and Chun-li's look, just way out of place.

Edit: I mean out of place with the game in general, not just with the Holiday pack.

Ryu and Chun-Li's aren't Holiday costumes, they're Red Bull costumes. They've not even been announced for release outside of Japan. I don't know why the OP hasn't specified that.

Edit: Wait, nvm, that's what I get for only paying attention to the Holiday stuff.

I meant out of place in general. Just, right out of left field with those two. If not for the foot thing, I wouldn't know it was Chun-li.
 
I stopped paying attention to the dlc after seeing the prices of the previous stuff. I'm not paying $4 a costume. It's stupid.
 
I do find it kind of amusing that practically all of the holiday outfits for the female characters are basically just a two piece. I wouldn't be sold on this. However I do think that Gief outfit is pretty awesome, same with that Flava Flav looking Ryu, haha.

R. Mika was a character with a theme that made sense. Her clothes are not that crazy for a pro-wrestler. Even then SFV made her clothes more revealing and made them require waaay more double-sided tape. Sure the Chun-Li shower scene is pandering, it was an OVA in the 90s featuring female characters and aimed at men. It was definitely gonna show nudity. And the Chun-Li scene where she fights Vega while still mostly naked is one of the best and most brutal fight scenes of that movie, with Chun-Li at a disadvantage (no weapon, ambushed, bleeding) still kicked Vega's arse. The whole "Cammy and Chun-li were always for titillation" thing is true to an extent but they got better as the series progressed, and there were characters in the series that weren't. Except now, even freaking Karin Kanzuki is wearing booty shorts and a coat for the holidays.
 
I guess those 'sexy' costumes are the only ones that sell. If that means they'll support the game with more characters next year i'll take it. I just won't buy any costumes.
