Street Fighter V Holiday Content Trailer: New Costumes

The fact that there's a bundle makes me more inclined to buy it. I'm a big fan of the Christmas aesthetic.

Then again, I really liked the Halloween stuff they put out, but I didn't buy any of it. So...I guess I'll see how I feel when it comes out.

The true 'DOA approach' is releasing a required paid update after vanilla DOA5...something SF5 will never do.

That's why SF5's costumes are more expensive. Because they're 1) completely cosmetic and 2) SF5's only source of long term income.

If you're going to compare DOA's sales approach to SF5's, you gotta tell the whole story.
 
Karin's outfit feels really out of place for her character, but that's the only one that bothers me. Well, other than that god-awful Chun-Li alt.

I might be reading into it too much, but since it says the release date and not dates for the Holiday content, atrocious Red Bull costumes, and Akuma, that might be a soft confirmation that Akuma is coming this month, possibly soon after PSX?

So we have about 3-4 costumes each for Ryu Chun Mika Cammy Laura...? Where the hell are the costumes for everyone else? I'd really like another Bison one that's good.

If you're going to argue that "sexy" is Laura's key character trait in defence of yet another titty costume for her, then you might need to also accept the argument that it is part of Karin's identity to be relatively demure.

A fur lined outfit resembling one of her existing costumes would be much more in line with her character. But we can drop the pretense that character has anything to do with the costume designs, right?

The summer outfit was perfectly fine, and it's actually become my go-to. That was fitting and appropriate to the theme, because it's something someone like her would wear. Her Xmas outfit, however, I'd argue doesn't fit those criteria.

Deformed? I see a lot of women with her exact body type at the gym. These are women who focus on their legs mostly and that's always the results.

She was a loudmouthed spoiled braggart with the same revealing, low cut, high top outfit as Sakura.

She only changed to be less dismissive and more elegant in sfv, because of her position in the family.
She's absolutely not above these kinda of outfits

Also, her being a loud mouth means nothing, also maybe I don't know people didn't think the school uniform fit her either. Just because things are established doesn't mean their good. I legit lol'd at this comment because it's true. She's my main and I've been using the summer bikini outfit recently, but she is the one character on the roster that is just not into those kinds of outfits.

Lol, hate to be the one to tell you, but that's not how school uniforms look, there are actually rules against rolling up the skirt so it doesn't look like a low cut skirt.

So do you. DOA also has a F2P version that SF5 doesn't have and they absolutely do rely on costumes and DLC to offset that free version that a few million people downloaded and played as well, while DOA ALSO is multiplatform and started on last-gen consoles before making the switch to modern gen.

Or, you know, I could mention other fighting games that have more sensible pricing like Mortal Kombat X (which doesn't require a paid update either but its pricing is more sensible) or Killer Instinct (it charges for entire, complete characters with multiple skins the way Capcom charges for a single costume for a single character). You don't have to just look at DOA. You can look at the entire rest of the fighting game industry and Capcom still comes up short and overpriced.

That's how they looked at sakura's highschool. They look different at ibuki's and Makoto highschool.

Also her being in that outfit doesn't mean it fits her character, that means bengus drew her in that outfit. I love cammy, but i'll be the first one to say, cammy's main outfit has never fit her... ever.

It was particularly funny in SF5's story mode. Having her bare her soul to Chun-Li about how she feels jealous of never having had a family, and she's doing it with what is probably the second-greatest wedgie in gaming history.
