It's kind of crazy the shit that has come before DMC5 announcement that I gave less of a chance.. FF7:R, Shemnue 3, Last Guardian revival.... And soon we will add Crash Revival and MvC4.... But why Capcom?

Devil May Cry had a new game in 2013 and 2 remasters last year, the series has hardly been dormant.

There was what, 5 years gap between DMC4 and DmC? Have patience.

Well, Itsuno has to be working on something. I don't think he's been attached to a project as a director since DD in 2012. Dark Arisen and DDO were directed by Kento Kinoshita.

Not really. That was Devil may Cry: Devil May Cry, made by a different developer, featuring a different world and cast of characters.

It was a reboot-oh-sorry-not-really-reboot game that didn't manage to fully scratch the same itch as OG DMC series. So, we've been waiting for nearly nine years to see a truly new DMC game. At least I think a lot of fans feel this way.

And I know Capcom doesn't see it that way but as I said, many fans do.

The real gap is 8 years because Itsuno and the DMC team did Dragon's Dogma. Capcom knows DmC wasn't even geared towards the passionate fanbase at all so I can't even count it. Our time will come though.

Most likely E3, but I would love for a trailer to drop on a random Monday again.

A release date is very possible. GameSpot did a preview this week and it was recently rated in Brazil.

Fingers crossed that we get some news on it then. More exposure for Automata, Persona 5, and Gravity Rush 2 can only be a good thing.

Speaking of, both Nier: Automata and Gravity Rush 2's dev teams have been talking about demos and pro support, so hopefully we get specifics on those sooner rather than later.

What about The Last of Us 2, guys? Any real chance of being announced this Saturday?
I'm 100% sure it will be announced on PSX. It may be just a teaser, but it will be announced. Personally, I will be very happy even with a teaser, but I would like something like Horizon's announcement.
Shinobi said something about DMC 5 ?

Wonder where this rumor came from

I think he hasn't said anything on that.

Nope. Not a word.

There is no rumor really*. It's just us being wishful and frustrated and all that.

*Well, there is one actually. Just not from this thread/discussion. SneakersSO said in one of the recent MvC4 threads that DMC5 was ready to be announced at E3 2016 but got post-pounded at last minute. We don't have any solid info as to why that happened but there are some talks that it was due to SFV getting a bad reception and bombing commercially. (which led to Capcom revising their announcement/release strategy for their future games)

I feel like there has been a DMC5 rumour for every event for the past 2 years lol.

I really wouldn't count on it. It'll be revealed next E3. But none of us know, so it'll be exciting to see what they show off.

I really want some footage of Final Fantasy VII: Remake but knows I won't get that.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 will be good enough for me.

Where is the countdown?
Where it should be, check the OP.

Nothing from the VGAs that was substantial then. Glad I gave it a miss instead of staying up til 5 in the morning. And not only that, any goodness that gave the VGAs a wide berth is potentially being saved for PSX instead!

Well if we saw death stranding again already, now i think there is a slight chance of seeing dmc5 at psx. Maybe shinobi doesn't say anything because it's that one surprise they don't want to ruin. Believe!

Now you know how Metroid fans feel.

Normally, I would believe it will get announced on E3 2017, but Shinobi teased it.

So what you are saying is to expect a port and not an entire new game?

The only thing he said is it'll be revealed before E3. Doesn't mean there's any chance of a PSX reveal. If I was Sony I wouldn't announce it until Spring.

Yeah, but after that he wrote this:
I just think it'll be better than The last 2 PSX shows...

Notice the capitalized T. I think it's a clear nod to The Last of Us. Also, if it gets announced before E3, it will be on PSX, because it's the The Last of Us 2 is an E3 or PSX level announcement.

Might be, could also be a phone typo. But yeah it does seem like a tease for The Last of Us 2.
