They should just switch out Trish for Nero and have Dante and Vergil use their DMC4 moveset.

Orrr maybe have Dante keep his DMC3 moveset. I forgot how versatile he his.

If they make the characters look like the actors I'm fucking out. Don't care how fun/good the game is.

I thought of that but I doubt it, asides from maybe Star Lord w/mask and CG characters like vision's redesign.

I'm sure marvel wants to play the long game and account for recasts or something.

I feel like having a SFV rep is one of these rules we are so focused on being in place, that it might not even be the case.

I mean a SFV newcomer is likely, but at the same time I wouldn't say it's 100%. Yeah it's an easy promotion and what not for V but it's possible they just don't go with it and put in a fan favorite instead.

I still say that it's more than possible that a SFV rep could just be the popular characters with their SFV costumes.

C. Viper in MVC3 was a popular character and was I recall specifically made to appeal to the west. I can't say any of the SFV newcomers have the same position. Hell C. Viper lost her spot after Juri popped up.

Regardless will be interesting to see. But I'm not banking 100% on a SFV rep

I'm pretty sure it costs money to use an actors likeness above and beyond the money it costs to get a franchise licence, which is why we have a history of movie tie in games where the main character looks nothing like the actor famous for playing that role.

Since Capcom used Lab Zero's Skullgirls driver that allowed PS3 fightsticks to be used on PS4 in SFV, can we reasonably assume they would do so again with this upcoming Marvel iteration?

I hope so because I own 2 PS3 fightsticks and would like to avoid buying another.

Every fighter that comes out now uses that driver.

This is what I think, too. Plus, if it came to it, they could just as easily use Juri instead, as a way to bank on a known popular entity and still adequately represent the "new era" of SF (4 and 5) on the same token.

Oh, and it would be another villainous entrant. MvC could always use more of those, especially if story will be a thing this time around.

Three DMC characters and three Darkstalkers characters are a bit much, but to be fair, Resident Evil and Street Fighter are two of Capcom's biggest franchises. I never minded them having that many characters, especially on a roster with a whole whopping 25 Capcom characters. Though if MVC4/Reboot has a much smaller roster, then yeah it would be a problem.
If a new dmc game is coming out you can bet your ass there will be 3 DMC characters.

They could also put a Street Fighter character in there that'll come to SFV later. Would be a good promo and be a surprise.

Then who would be the SFV rep?

Outside Laura, none of the new SFV characters really have a draw or any type of popularity. There's Rashid popularity online because apparently he has many good matchups and plays solid, but I kind of assume they'll likely forego a SFV rep who explicitly is a new character, or maybe Necalli at a stretch with wolverine's moveset Kappa

No Xmen? lol.

If the roster really is as small as the rumors say, then I would think a SFV character would be pretty unlikely just because Ryu and Chun-Li would have to get in first.

now theres roster size rumors? people are just making shit up left and right huh?

Speaking of Rocket, you think they'll up his size a bit to be more in line with his MCU size (around 4ft or so)?

It would probably be better for gameplay if he was a bit bigger than his UMVC3 size. He's practically a mosquito. Then again, huge size disparities are part of the fun (trying to hit RR with Sentinel's big limbs).
