5 of Street Fighter V Season 2 characters are going to be newcomers

Ingrid? I mean there's that Dark Ingrid design they can use... just saying. Please!

I think Ingrid could happen

The thing here is "new to SF universe"

While Ingrid has made appearances in that one version of Alpha and I think also that SFxT comic, she's not a canon SF character atm

If she were one of the new characters in V, this "new to SF universe" parameter wouldn't be broken with Ingrid's inclusion (because, as far as canon is concerned, it'd be Ingrid's first ever canon appearance in the SF universe. Unless I missed something)

Nobosy posted this yet?
Seems to match up silhouttes.

Oh God no they better not bring back Goutetsu

Let Goutetsu rest (and also let Akuma have something. It's already pretty dumb that Bison and Gouken survive. Let's not take his remaining canon kill away from him)

Also, DD/Rook/Canned Pretty Boy from CFAS has some serious leg problems in his silhouette if that's supposed to be him

Actually... the last silhouette reminds me of Garuda from SFEX (esp. because of the leg)

*sigh* missing you babe... Will keep the hope alive tho ✊🏾.

They should have at the least balanced it out with 3 veterans and 3 newcomers

Season 2
Akuma
C. Viper
Sagat
New
New
New

Season 3
Sakura
Feilong
Dudley
New
New
New

Im also hoping Season 3 started in the middle of next year as 6 characters is dissapointing. Super Street Fighter IV added 10 characters.

Wow. This game is a complete joke.

Glad that there's other alternatives like Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Tekken 7, KOF XIV & Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite.

People not playing just because their fave isn't in, and being so strict about that, is dumb. Just try someone else for Pete's sake. Variety is the spice of life. There's no Fei, so I use Karin. If I can bloody do it, anyone can. Why lock yourself out of a good game, it baffles me.

Season 2 is a cool idea. Don't get the hate when so many here asked for just that. Sure, they should still release a compelling, complete packaged product but doesnt mean they shouldn't announce season 2 in the mean time. You've got to at least show some working evidence you're planning continual support (simply saying "supporting until 2020" means jack shit), so this is fine. Retention is probably in their best interest at this point anyway.

Anywho, hoping for Azam at some point.

Like I think if it was any fighting game that announced brand new characters, people would be hype af. Has SFV really burned so many people?

I highly doubt all five of the characters already exist. I'm sure a few of them will be brand new in the vein of Rashid and Necalli. I don't think we're getting a Doll, and the fifth silhouette's pants are completely unlike Rook's.

How can people not be for new characters? Who knows, maybe one of these news players will become your top pick like how Rufus, Juri, and Q were for many after they were first introduced.

IMO, I've always been a fan of fresh new faces to expand the franchise, otherwise you might as well be playing the previous entry that keeps the same cast. That or release both new and old so everybody is happy... new first though :-D

Very poor decision on Capcom's part. Making 5 of the 6 characters brand new won't do much to capture the interest of people new to the game or long time owners. At the very least they should have done 3 classic and 3 new and alternate between them monthly. With the way they're doing it now, there's nothing to look forward to.

I'm far more excited about the prospect of brand new characters with brand new play styles than the remaining C-list veterans that I've been playing as for decades.

I like that they're adding new characters but man, I am definitely not buying a season pass without knowing what it includes.

At least reveal the names of the characters like with Season 1.

If they're totally brand new, revealing the names would be the same as not revealing them.

They should have instead added some new characters to season 1. 3 new and 3 old for each season would be ideal. Glad they are adding a bunch of new. Didn't want SF5 to be veteran city. Whats the fun in a fighting game with a lack of new characters?

We'd at least know if they're characters from other Capcom games/guest characters or maybe characters that were introduced in SF5. That alone would make the wait a bit more bearable.

I wish more people gave a new character a chance; some in these last 20 years have been damn fun.

There's the wise words.

The only reason I'm not buying a season pass is because I consider paying for shit I have no idea what it is a silly idea to begin with.

Same reason I don't preorder.

So I posted a Season 2 character list a while ago. Source of that list said that Sagat was also set to appear at Capcom Cup alongside Akuma. Source speculated that maybe Sagat's move set could be transplanted to another character.

Edit: Main reason I would trust this source is because he was right about the removal of meterless reversals and a couple other changes. (I never posted about meterless reversal removal because I didn't think it would happen.)

This would be so cheap even for Capcom.

So it's probably true.

The only explanation on why Capcom is doing this is because they want to distance this game from the Street Fighter brand as much as possible. Bringing back old and beloved characters would only hurt the franchise and its universe even more.

There's really no hope for Sean is there? Other than him popping up in those intros.
There will be at least 2 more seasons after 2017, maybe 3.

So there's always a chance.

Yup that's the only explanation.
