Or even better, what if X's Armor depended on the Infinity Gem of Choice, and thus is tied to gameplay?

There's already loose talk about how each Gem is pretty much like a groove that affects your character's performance. Making it so X could go between stuff like X2's, X3's, Gaea, Falcon, Shadow, or whatever would just be all the sweeter to me.

It's fun for me. I like to see the enemy struggle to get to me then punish them when they make a mistake/over commit.

Legit one of, if not the most boring & cheesiest """"strategies""""" to go against/do and is extremely boring to watch.

Keep away is one of the main fighting gameplay paradigms. Some people just love that style of play.

It's a valid style of play with its own advantages and caveats if implemented well. Not every character should be rushdown.

I was thinking Reality gem should change a character's moves in some way, maybe grant them access to a few moves exclusively?

I like the idea, lets just keep the dumb X3 golden armor as far from this game as possible.

I have a good feeling that Gene won't be left out this time. I mean, they brought X into the mix and we all know how much shit Capcom got for not including him. I will be thrilled though if we get both Urien and Jin. I can finally play as Team Underwear.
 
I really hope we get high-res character renders for this game. The MvC3 & UMvC3 renders were too good (hell, they're still being used by various sites to this day).

Who gives an actual fuck if it's boring to watch? What matters is if it's fun for other people like me to play with. That you even used the word "cheesiest" just says it all about you.
 
Watched the new trailer so many times. I am hyped. The little bits they added that bridged the initial trailer together made the game look much better. I am starting to see the potential possibilities of these new systems and it's really starting to excite me.

This is going to be a rough fucking wait.
 
Since the Marvel side of the roster will be heavily MCU based, I think theirs a good chance we'll see a sizeable amount of U Marvel Avengers heroes and villains return.

Ryu and Captain Marvel both got their abilities from another who was then promptly taken out of the picture. This sorta works for Nova too I guess

Ms. Marvel was given her powers by being merged with Captain Mar-Vell or something who died later on. While Ryu was trained by his mentor, Carol simply gained all of Mar-Vell's knowledge and powers from merging with him temporarily(?)

Both gouken and mar-vell
returned to life, even though apparently Mar-Vell was a skrull

I played a pure rushdown guy in UMVC3. Iron Fist. No answer to zoning no airdashes no double jump no armor. Nothing. Guy got ate up by zoners. That was my choice to make. I could've just swapped teams but I'm blindly loyal to that guy in comics so it was what it was.

Zoning is fair. Thats being said from a guy who had to hold that shit constantly in matches. Its not being done to annoy so much as its a legit strategy. If someone is jumping in you run right? So what else can you do? Well if you have someone with beams you can put down a laser under them and cover the entire horizontal portion of the screen and punish their landing. Once they are far away you can then figure out other stuff. Dormammu actually has projectiles that bounce you up so he can combo. He's not good with people right in his grill so you play at either a mid screen to full screen distance with him, fish for a stray hit as they try to jump past all the obstructions he puts on the screen and then you convert THAT into a combo.

Zoners are different. If they go for combos some dont have long ones or high damage. They rely on the fact that they are expected to makeup for that damage in slowly death by papercutting folks with projectiles that force enemies to thread the needle constantly.

Plus playing against zoners make you a MUCH better player. You learn how to move, when not to move, how to not just rush in whole hog and how to bait stuff better. If you can't get past a tool you eventually learn a new tactic and thats how you break bad habits.

Zoning is fair. Even if the matchups are not, its fair and if you land in a situation that puts you full screen vs zoning its time to figure out a puzzle about how they move and how you can move to get past those tools. If you lose it wasn't cheap or unfair. It just means you still have more to study. Sometimes its simply dont get into that situation...tag out or never allow yourself willingly to get that far from those particular opponents. Its is what it is. Non zoners have good stuff too. This is just how you make it so all types of players have things they can feel good hitting.
 
Anyone that was in UMVC and made an appearance in the MCU in the past six years is definitely returning.

So Strange, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Rocket, Spidey, & Thor are all locks. Actually, the only character that made a movie appearance who I doubt returns is Dormmamu. And that's because his MCU form is drastically different than his MvC form.
 
I was just thinking about Ghost Rider, and was thinking how could it would be (at least for me) if Blackheart returned.

This is something a lot already said probably (in fact im sure) but listening to Maximillian say it in the cap/morri video I have to agree... if they are using the same models and animations, in general as 3 (and looking at Ryu, Morri, Cap and IM they are with some new stuff added), maybe that Marvel rep that said the roster would be huge WASNT full of shit, maybe the roster will be big if a lot of the cast already has most of the work done. Would also explain the shorter dev time.

It also means Iron Fist is pretty much a shoe in so that's nice.

That would be good because the Marvel 3 characters were well designed minues the glitches.

Dormammu's MCU form isn't really different. His MvC version is just shrunk down to make him an actual playable fight. You can see his arms at points and his head straight up is the same, just huge and taking up most of the screen.

I bet he comes back. Both in future films and also this game.
