Updates will add what? Cutscenes, story, playable characters?
wtf...
That first mission where 90% of the budget went into was great! That and ground zeroes had serious potential.Masterpiece and MGSV in the same sentence? Lol
I NEVER play an RPG 2 times, so I will wait until is updated, meanwhile I'll play the rest of my backlog
Huh, so it's a Revised Draft Fantasy.
Writer:"Damn, need more time to finish the book"
Publisher:"Who cares, give me what you have and I'll sell it"
Book store employer:"Here's the new book you were waiting for!"
Customer:"Nice! I was waiting for this, 10 years"
*reads book*
Customer:"You know, is not a bad book, but feels likr is missing pages and chunks of it"
Writer:"You are right, here are the missing pages"
Customer:"But...I already read the book, it would have been nice, having the full book when I bought it and experienced it.."
*Writer fan crawls in the ground and approaches furiosly*
Writer fan:"Why are you complaining!! He's giving you the missing pages for free. Why can you feel the passion and the love he put in his work! ArghaRRGhhh!"
Customer:"But past books didn't have missing pages, and certainly most other books didn't"
Writer fan:"But you are getting them, you're so entitled!! Who cares if you already read the book. FEEL THE PASSION OF HIS WORK!! ArrrhhgaRRRGhhhh"
The same can be said for FFXV and its open world gameplay, where 90% of the budget was spent. That first mission where 90% of the budget went into was great! That and ground zeroes had serious potential.
I think there's more to it honestly. Here we are witnessing the transformation already happening all over of games as services. They re trying to keep players engaged for long on these games hoping they buy more digital stuff etc. And keeping fans happy for longer. Infact if you read it all they re planning to add new hunts and even timed events from time to time. I can't say is bad but I want to experience it first before getting mad or enthusiast. Witcher 3 did also similar stuff but they re taking a bit further forward here with the time events and such. Almost like an mmorpg or moba of sort.
This was inevitable btw.
Both games show that big prominent Japanese studios still have a lot of catching up to do in terms of open world design. Especially when it comes to story pacing, coherency, budget management, and why creating a proprietary internal engine without the experience of a team who's used to working with games of this scale is an incredibly bad idea.An incomplete Masterpiece and an incomplete mess are two different things, FF15 is not even close the genius MGSV has.
Edit: and Konami isn't even trying to fix it.

This is fucking stupid. I would be surprised if they even achieve their "midterm" goals by the end of 2017, and I'm sure as hell not waiting or replaying the game again.

A Fantasy Based On Revision.
I'll wait for the inevitable PC Complete Edition. This is SE, of course there'll be a PC version.
So adding longevity to the game is now bad? You guys shock me every single day. Is this any different than adding DLC that expands on story elements? We're getting more gameplay updates and people are shitting ok that?
I love how people try to confirm their bias. Calling this a mess of a game when the majority of people playing this don't see it as such at all. I welcome these free updates along with the already announced planned DLC.
No, the first two major updates are aimed at completing an obviously unfinished game. Comparing what SE is doing to what CD Project Red did for Witcher 3 is insulting. They re just expanding the game for a future pc and console re release like many other devs like red cd project did for years with all their games. Calm down

No, it's not. Releasing unfinished games and patching them up after release is bad. It's not as bad as releasing unfinished games and leaving them as is but it's still bad.

When the game they released is already fantastic, improving it is great.
If release FFXV was bad, you might have a point.
You nailed it.When the game they released is already fantastic, improving it is great.

Who said FFXV was released with an incomplete story? It even has a satisfying conclusion FFS. They aren't completing it now.You know theres a difference between enhancing an experience and completing one right?

1. Happy- at least they are adding stuff to fill some gapsWell this at least proves that the game was rushed. I don't know how to feel about this.

Created using a new set of motion-captured animations, these additions include 3 engine-rendered cut scenes illustrating the events that transpire in Loc Muinne when Geralt is engaged elsewhere.

For Witcher 3? Sure. But what about the Enhanced Edition of Witcher 2? It added new cutscenes, a new CG intro, the Dandelion narrations, as well as tweaks for Act 3 (of 3), because it didn't feel as finished as the rest of the game.
Sounds familiar?
Player: "Wow, I sure wish I had thing"
Devs: "No worries, we're working on something similar actually!"
Player: "What the FUCK, man? Why didn't I have this to begin with? I hate you and everything you stand for"
