Obama to hold press conference at White House on Friday

At this point US is replacing a stand-up comedian with reality TV star. Too bad it couldn't have found an actual president.

This man is asking all the right questions. Obama playing dodgeball.

He's doing a really good job (Obama). I was talking about what I'd like to see him address before this started and basically the checklist was: 1. Move on from the result, 2. Work together 3. Push for change at the grassroots level.

3/3

Is it just me or does Obama seem like he's pretty much over America. Like, he seems pretty fed up with everything and completely disinterested.

You're projecting quite strongly. He's tired and needs a vacation, 8 yrs of hard work will do that.

They want Obama to fly off the handle and do something dangerously impulsive because they're afraid of Trump flying off the handle and doing something dangerously impulsive.

Makes a lot of sense.

Exactly, they make no fucking sense. Even if he is leaving, he can't just simply pop off on Trump or whoever. Y'all are showing your true colors right now.

So the Russian involvement was ceased some time back- media went to town with the email leaks in the meantime and more or less helped Trump win by hammering Clinton endlessly.

As a black man who lives here, I'm totally with him on that front.

He'll never say it, but this country is full of shitty racists who would rather literally die than have non-white people be given fair treatment and representation.

I wish that he'd get that racists are going to hate him no matter what, so he might as well say what he wants and get the "angry black man" label that he'll be given.

The words used make the USA/POTUS seem like a toddler talking on a playground to his lil friends.

Nah he was being honest. The U.S. even had Merkel tapped for years and she's a friendly. The U.S. is hacking the shit out of Russia and have interfered in election in other places several times in history. The thing is Russia doesn't have elections lol so they can't directly mess with that place.

I can't tell if the fact that he's still optimistic when faced with all this bullshit is admirable or not. Or if he has no choice but to appear that way.

You're delusional.

The delusional one is Obama thinking that the Republicans will give any concern about the Russian hacks.

Obama is delusional in thinking that the transition to Trump as president is like any other past transition.

The man is normalizing Trump when he doesn't have to.

I get the same impression, it's like he feels like he just can't deal with the stupidity anymore. Can't say I blame him, I can't comprehend how anyone could be fooled by Trump, he must feel like its just a lost cause at this point.

lol that sounds like the last 2-3 press conferences.

The hyperbole in this thread is astounding. Y'all want a president that goes off the handle? Just wait a month.

So what constitutes flying off the handle, here?

Demanding Trump release his tax returns? Release the findings implicating Putin and Russia in the DNC hacks? Demanding Comey and the FBI show their hand?

Yeah man, totally crazy. Wheeeee!

Yeah I was joking a lot but this is basically what I expected. It's fun to dream about pulling a rabbit out of his hat but this is who Obama is. It's not the strongest presence but always gentlemanly and, as he says, "cordial."

Obama is reinforcing the smooth transition of power and using this as an opportunity to tell America to calm down.

He's going to continue to try and stay above party politics and that's one of the reasons the GOP continues jerking the dems around.

I can't tell if the fact that he's still optimistic when faced with all this bullshit is admirable or not. Or if he has no choice but to appear that way.

He absolutely has no choice. Whether that's how he actually feels as well is another matter.

Toothless and pathetic conference. The reason liberals just lost everything in the election is because of a response like this. Obama has no backbone.

So the Russian involvement was ceased some time back- media went to town with the email leaks in the meantime and more or less helped Trump win by hammering Clinton endlessly.

Pretty much, which we all already knew. Between that and Comey's letter, here we are.

How the Russian hacking wasn't a giant story I will never know, it was probably the biggest story of the election and it went uncovered.

You're referring to Obama as a comedian, the man who ruled competently for 8 years, scandal-free?

While better than all the recent Presidents, Obama still had scandals (stolen from some article):

1. Operation Fast and Furious
2. Benghazi
3. The IRS targeted conservative organizations
4. The DOJ seized Associated Press phone records as well as phone and email records from Fox News reporter James Rosen
5. The NSA conducted mass surveillance against American citizens without a warrant
6. The Obama administration paid ransom to Iran for hostages, and lied to the American people about it
7. Hillary's email scandal
8. The Environmental Protection Agency poisoned a Colorado river
9. The EPA also broke federal law in promoting a regulation
10. The General Services Administration scandal
11. The Secret Service scandal
