I'd get it, but I'm on peasant Android I guess.

Sorry if this is too soon and in bad taste.
So great to see Iwata's strategy for leveraging IP and diversifying their investments work out to such success. I said a while back that it'll be years before we see the full extent of Iwata's plans. Kimishima also said that they're expecting to return to "Nintendo-like profits." They're really just getting started here. New age for Nintendo for sure.
There would be the same angry tweets if the game was $1. These morons all thought it was free, and that they were somehow entitled to have it for free.
I'm surprised at the lack of Android, but I guess there is some sort of deal going on. That or they don't want the servers to be overloeaded with iOS and Android users...I haven't really followed this game's marketing etc.I'd get it, but I'm on peasant Android I guess.
That's always been true. The one time they have a 100+ million selling console like the Wii and they begin selling Mario Karts, NSMB, and goddamn Wii Plays at 30 million copies.Just reinforces that people would love to play Nintendo games, just not on Nintendo's terrible hardware.
This makes me quite sad. It really looks like Iwata was going to redeem himself in the eyes of sceptical fans had his life not ended so early. Would have loved to see him lead the way into Nintendo's future and see him on stage for the January presentation.
Shit sucks man.
Their hardware is affordable to anyone which definitely does not suck. I know people are jazzed about justifying their PS4 Pro, PSVR, gaming PC, gaming TV purchases, but the market is not theirs in a vacuum. That's always been true. Nintendo is the best, most famous videogame company ever but their games are only as successful as their hardware and they suck at hardware.

Wow, nice burn dude. You got Nintendo there, sick as.$1 is about all it's worth.

Your $1 price tag might be what you are comfortable with but others are happy to pay $19. This isn't some cheap shitty knock off game, this is a legit full handheld game gone mobile. If $10 is so precious to you then wait for it to go on sale.
I'd get it, but I'm on peasant Android I guess.
OP: AppAnnie says 10m by the way.
Nintendo games don't go on sale <_<
Mario Kart 8 sold 8 million units, NSMBU sold 5.45 million and goddamn Yoshi's Wooly World sold 1.5 million. Those are numbers most AAA developers would love to see and they happened on a console that only sold around 11 million units. Their games sell well no matter the hardware, because their games are good despite the hardware.
Sales or downloads?

Downloads of course lmao

(It's plenty worth $10 though)
Only when they flop horribly.
(Other M, Amiibo Festival, Codename Steam)

Nah, tbh I'd rather keep my dollar. Maybe if it weren't always online I would pay a dollar for it.
And no, it's not as good as the full versions of New Super Mario Bros for Wii or Wii U
The beauty of Super Mario Run or any Nintendo game on a mobile device, at some level, is that it is forever on that device.
A kid born today might get his parents to buy it for him 5 years from now. That isn't far fetched.
Pokemon GO is a big anomaly, I think
Well there's always gonna be someone who doesn't like something. But if you played over a strong wifi connection would you say it was a bad game?
*Except for all those times they defined gaming hardware
Where does the 10 millions number come from ? I can't find any source saying that.
Update: App Annie sent us a bit more data after this story ran. The company estimates that the game had more than 10 million downloads on Dec. 15 worldwide and brought in more than $4 million. They also noted that the game had 20 million pre-registrations (people who clicked on the Notify button in the app store) prior to its release.
Super Mario Run became the top ranked game by downloads in 60 countries shortly after launch, according to the company.
Defeats the purpose of the Switch being a pick up and go device so I doubt itNow I expect all Nintendo games, even on Switch to require an always online connection.

A game that encourages people to play outside and socialize in the world versus an endless runner. Pokémon Go has a lot of flaws, but even with glitches, it still managed to be revolutionary.Have Android so can't comment on the quality. I just hope this success is more deserved than Pokemon GO.

Don't even joke about that

Its obviously not hurting the sales, plus it's added security. Why wouldn't they do the same thing moving forward?
