Overwatch: Reflections comic out [Hanzo cake obsession and Roadhog's circumcision]

Yesss, Pharmercy can die in a fire. And I hope Pharah is talking to her father. That's more interesting anyway from the lore perspective.

I. Need. HIPSTER HANZO SKIN BLIZZARD!

Yeah seriously this needs to be a skin.:x

When they teased they'd be revealing an LGBT character soon, there was no doubt in my mind that it was going to be a female character. Kind of surprised (and disappointed) to see the backlash on the official forums, seeing as Overwatch fandom is so drenched in LGBT shipping. You'd have thought people would be used to it by now.

I do wonder though if this comic has something to do with the recently cancelled one that was canned due to changes in the story.

.
The people bitching on the forums are most likely a vocal minority. This stuff happens pretty much any time a game has a LGBT character.

The Tracer reveal is nice and all, but you'd have to be a religious zealot to not approve of a pairing like that. Blizzard need to ante up and show Junkrat and Roadhog in a loving embrace - then I'll be impressed.

Widow's husband comes back from the dead as a hero

fuck your ships

Sounds awesome tbh. Gerard strikes a nerve with Widow still it seems. It would be awesome to see their interaction and Widow acting more flustered.

Yeahh no. Their buddy relationship is awesome, and their age gap makes it kinda nonsensical. Also, not every hero needs to be shipped ffs

I have a question.

If they revealed that a male character was gay, do you think the reaction on the Blizzard forums would have been the same?

Michael Chu is a big Mercy/Genji shipper so I'm not surprised at the nod to it (although I'm skeptical about it being canonized for a few reasons - they haven't seen each other in a long time per in-game dialogue, for example.). I do wish some of the posters here weren't such dicks about it, though - it really shouldn't be hard to understand why a mixed-race lesbian couple might be really meaningful representation to some people.

As someone with a mixed-race background, I'd actually be happy with either Genji or Pharah and Mercy if they ever canonize things, though - it'd be nice to see more "non-traditional" pairings.

Like others, I think that's Pharah's dad (or at least a family member) given his apparent age and the hockey on TV. Tying it to her skins would be pretty cool too.

As for Reaper - I wonder if that's his son or something. Or nephew, I guess. Or maybe it's the woman he has a connection to. They've been humanizing him for awhile now, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's depressed about losing whatever family/friends he once had.

Widow still having feelings isn't really new - she snaps at Ana when the latter brings up Gerard - but interesting. I think it's been brought up a few too any times for it to not be plot-relevant in some way.

I think it is just a random family and Reaper is just sad that he has none.

The reaction on the Blizzard forums is embarrassing. Reminds me why I quit all gaming forums except for NeoGAF and (some parts of) Reddit.

Fun comic though, I hope Blizzard expands on the game universe because the best thing about OW is the characters, here's to hoping for a campaign one day and heck- maybe even a movie.

Depends. If Junkrat and Roadhog were gay then most would be cool but manly men Soldier 76 or McCree were gay then a riot would break out.

Ellie, the poster girl of TLOU is lesbian too.

That was kind of a shitty place to put a spoiler for a completely different game... =/ Playing through TLOU Remastered right now and I didn't know this. I assumed your marked spoiler would be Overwatch related because, you know, we're talking about Overwatch.
